Not a bad hotel 25 minutes from Bar HarborPosted Jul 29, 2014
2 adults, 2 teens in this room. Not a bad hotel without having to pay Bar Harbor prices.

Good amenities and features for the pricePosted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Tennis courts, large indoor pool and small separate jacuzzi, hot item breakfast, adjacent to grocery store, microwave and refrigerator in room
Cons: Unfortunately, room 139 had obviously been a smoking room at sometime in the past. I got used to it after a few minutes, but always noticed entering.
Location: 30 minutes from Bar harbor and Acadia area. Grocery store and several other chain stores very near by.
The price was reasonable compared to many locations closer to Bar Harbor/Acadia and it did feature many amenities that most hotels do not (tennis courts). The breakfast had scrambled eggs and one meat item each day (corned beef hash or sausage) along with the other expected items like yogurt, cereal, breads, bagels, and donuts. Peaches and cottage cheese were also there. There was also an expanded selection of fruit juices including Mango-orange and one other. Nice outside deck was available for dining and backed up against a screen of trees to make a pleasurable view. I would say that the location is just far enough away from Bar Harbor/Acadia that you don't really want to travel back mid-day to get something if you don't have to, but close enough that its not a pain. Only disappointment was that our room (139) was obviously a converted smoking room and its just hard to get all those years of smoke out of the carpet and walls. Although I got used to it after a few minutes, every time I came in the door from a day out touring, I was always greeted by that faint smell of smoke. That is the only reason I marked down room cleanliness which was otherwise impeccable. I'm certain if they repaint and recarpet, it would be fine or ask for a different room. One note for those with allergies, we found both down and polyester pillows on the beds and with a little pillow tearing apart, we were able to tell the difference. Overall a good place to stay if it meets your needs.

Good location on the way to the parkPosted Jul 23, 2014
Cons: hot tub was basically personal-size, could be bigger. Better breakfast
Decor is a bit dated, AC doesn't really deal with humidity very well (wall unit). Internet was bad first day, but got better. I wish these places would get some on-demand tv services instead of the generic HBO (of course then they couldn't try to get you to pay for content, so...). No fridge in room, just a safe. Fine other than that. Free parking is a plus. Close to lots of shopping places.

Nice hotel, not too far from Bar HarborPosted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: That it is easy to find.
Cons: Place microwaves in the room. We requested the 1st floor because of a leg injury, but we were put on the 2nd floor and there are no elevators.
Location: We were interested in going to Bar Harbor and the hotel was not too far.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Ramada. We went to Maine to participate in sailing lessons at a nearby club. It poured the last two days so we requested to check out early. The hotel refunded us and we were able to leave early. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. The breakfasts were very nice. We would definitely return to the Ramada for another stay.

Best value near Acadia Natuonal ParkPosted Jul 16, 2014
The beds were comfortable and it was great to have free WIFI. There's a supermarket in the adjoining lot, which was convenient for snacks and essentials. The continental breakfast is really a full breakfast with hot items. Great coffee and the best scrambled eggs I've had in a long time. A nice touch: the housekeeper carefully positioned my kids' stuffed animals on the pillows each time she made up the beds. It made the room feel more like home.

Great time in this great hotel!Posted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: Everything. I have traveled to most part of the world and this one is among the finest indeed.
Cons: Thanks to all the people who are working in this hotel.
Location: About 18 miles outside of the Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor but it is an enjoyable ride to and from the hotel to those places.
All enjoyable - services, food, location, and most of all, kind and thoughtful staff members.

Croquet at WoodlawnPosted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: The comfort of the room, the newness of the hotel, the great breakfasts , the location of the PC, the quietness, the snack shop, the free newspapers
Cons: Since I was busy playing croquet I didn't take advantage of all the hotel might have offered.
Location: It was near the Woodlawn Museum where the tournament was held. Also near Union Lobster and Finns two good places to eat or snack.
The hotel was a great place to relax during my free time during the tournament

Cons: Very slow drains in sink and tub
Very nice atmosphere and the continental breakfast was excellent with more items than any we have been to.
