Small and nice hotel.

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Nice and clean. close to a Chinese restaurant.
Location: Close to the Cadillac mountain to see the sunrise.
The room is clean, but it is too small. mini fridge. small bathroom. only fit 2 double beds. The breakfast room also small and not many choices to eat. I may choose another hotel with bigger room in Trenton next time. Actually, the park has several entrance and 3 different part. You don't need live in bar harbor. It is very expensive compare to the room condition .

Great location for downtown activities

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: location, close to town
Cons: not much green space or scenery to look at. mostly look at pavement
Location: Shopping, waterfront, Acadia National Park which includes biking, hiking, sight seeing.
Clean motel, within walking distance of Bar Harbor, Maine for shopping, whale watch rides and restaurants. Pool was lovely, rooms clean as a whistle and quiet area.

We could walk to almost everywhere In downtown Bar Harbor. Lots of good restaurants just a short walk from the motel. Short drive to Acadia National Park.

just a great location

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: great olocation
Cons: it is not the flashest place, but clean, comfy and friendly. The wireless (free) could have been a bit quicker
Location: walk to town, actually you are in town. Everything is at your door
we wanted somewhere handy to the town and this is what we got. Could walk to any number of restaurants and things. Perfect for us

A Good Value In Town

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness.
Cons: Bathrooms and porch/walkways could be updated
Location: EVERYTHING in Bar Harbor
The Villager is actually part of a large family of hotels and motels in and around Bar Harbor. It's certainly not the fanciest, but if you want to stay right in Bar Harbor, so that you can walk to restaurants, shops and other stuff, it's a great value. The rooms are very clean, and relatively quiet for an exterior corridor motel. The location (on Main St. a block from the Village Green) can't be beat. Staff is friendly, and a continental breakfast is included. We would definitely stay here again.

You can't beat the location!

We stayed two nights at Villager and we were very happy with our choice. Smack in the middle of Bar Harbor. Greater location! Free parking & WiFi. Very nice & helpful staff. For a motel, I would recommend The Villager.

great location, VERY dated hotel, overpriced

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Great location to getting to everything downtown.
Cons: update the hotel
Location: lots of restaurants nearby. Can walk from Bar Harbor on a sandbar to the nearby island during low tide.
The Villager is a couple of blocks from downtown Bar Harbor. However, the hotel is VERY dated, without any signs that anything is being updated. While they do include a free continental breakfast, it's pretty minimal. Even though we were on the second floor, couldn't open drapes to get sunlight since room opens onto the walkway. Lobby opens at 730 am, late if you want to checkout early.

Convenient place to stay in Bar Harbor

Posted Oct 29, 2012
Pros: Our favorite thing about this hotel was its location.
Cons: The beds were way too soft with not enough support.
Location: Very near the center of Bar Harbor
The only criticism we have of this hotel is that the beds were extremely soft and did not give enough back support.
