great location, VERY dated hotel, overpriced

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Great location to getting to everything downtown.
Cons: update the hotel
Location: lots of restaurants nearby. Can walk from Bar Harbor on a sandbar to the nearby island during low tide.
The Villager is a couple of blocks from downtown Bar Harbor. However, the hotel is VERY dated, without any signs that anything is being updated. While they do include a free continental breakfast, it's pretty minimal. Even though we were on the second floor, couldn't open drapes to get sunlight since room opens onto the walkway. Lobby opens at 730 am, late if you want to checkout early.

close to town

Very Friendly staff. In town so everything is within walking distance. Acadia is about a 20 minute drive.

Convenient place to stay in Bar Harbor

Posted Oct 29, 2012
Pros: Our favorite thing about this hotel was its location.
Cons: The beds were way too soft with not enough support.
Location: Very near the center of Bar Harbor
The only criticism we have of this hotel is that the beds were extremely soft and did not give enough back support.

Pleasant motel. Rooms very satisfactory, friendly staff. Central location near shops and restaurants. Breakfast offerings merely average: no yogurt and only Lipton's tea; awful sweetener.

Easy walk to everywhere in Bar Harbor!

Posted Oct 23, 2012
Pros: This motel made Bar Harbor COMPLETELY accessible!
Cons: I wish we had been staying for a longer visit!
Location: Bar Harbor is a picturesque village with great shopping and fun restaurants. My favorite part of being in the area is it's proximity to Acadia!
The motel was not luxurious but was quite comfortable, very clean and, perhaps best of all, right in the middle of downtown Bar Harbor. My husband and I were able to park our car at the motel when we checked in and leave it in its parking space for the remainder of our visit! We will make a point of staying at the Villager Motel when we visit Bar Harbor in the future!

A good position in Bar Harbor

Posted Oct 22, 2012
Pros: Position and parking
Cons: Small room
Location: Near the centre of Bar Harbor
This is a basic motel, but it is an excellent position, near the centre of town and has easy parking. We were towards the back of the motel and did not find the position noisy. The continental breakfast is adequate but not fancy.

Best hotel in town!

Posted Oct 17, 2012
Hotel's location was its best feature! We parked the car there and never got it in until we were ready to leave town. Staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions for local activities. I left behind the charger for my iPad, but when I called to ask about it, I was told they found it, would mail it, and it was on my front door in less than a week! I would stay here again or recommend it to anyone going to Bar Harbor.
