Visiting BilbaoPosted Sep 16, 2013
Pros: The friendliness and help by staff members
Cons: Parking charges. You suppose to pay for security, but .... not almost twice
Location: If you wish to save on parking, the back road (the same one for entry to hotel parking) is free of charge, if you get the place :)
Lovely hotel, convenient place for short visit or shopping trip. If you are interested to get to Bilbao downtown, you just need to contact reception for supporting map, guidance on metro and friendly explanation on how to get there and back. It is actually very convenient place and only small effort needed - around 20 minutes walk to metro station.

Good valuePosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: Spacious & comfortable, friendly staff, swimming pool, excellent buffet breakfast included.
Cons: It was a little further than expected to metro, but it would be difficult to do anything to improve that!
Location: As above. We didn't explore the local area which seems to be largely residential.
Very enjoyable stay, we wanted somewhere convenient for town centre but not right in the middle, so we could enjoy the fiesta & get away when we wanted.

Great place for sleepingPosted Aug 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
Receptionist bordering on unfriendly - very authoritative - should probably be supervising a school playground not receiving voluntary paying guests! Very formular in contrast with fun hotels we'd stayed in and absolutely not the kind of place we would have chosen normally except nothing available in san sebastian and wanted to see guggenheim. Only redeeming feature were v comfortable beds. V expensive for location and quality.

Well Placed for the Ferry PortPosted Aug 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Comfy, Modern and well located hotel. Good dining facilities and quality of food. Very reasonably priced. Would stay here again next time I need an overnight stop before catching the ferry. The only downside was the queues and corresponding long waits at reception as there was only one or two staff on duty.

Good value for a family stayPosted Aug 18, 2013
Pros: Overall good value for easy access to Bilbao
Cons: Not much, could maybe do with more games etc in kids area, but hardly a negative point really.
Location: Great for metro access, local town not highly recommended but plenty of restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk.
Really helpful staff, very good room, great food in hotel though plenty of restaurants nearby. Well located for metro into Bilbao (10 minute walk). Good swimming pool easy to access and with lifeguard there all the time. Safe, pleasant children's room close to reception and bar. Easy access to a park across the road . Easy to recommend; good value all round.

Standard Novotel...location far from Bilbao centrePosted Aug 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed here on our way out of Bilbao as we wanted to spend a full last day in the city without a long drive afterwards. We found free street parking directly behind the hotel. Car was fine but the area is definitely on the dodgy side, surrounded by high rised social housing and lots of youths hanging around. Hotel suited our purpose but would not recommended to someone visiting Bilbao due to the location.

Comfortable vacationPosted Aug 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our family appreciated the services of Novotel Bilbao Exhibition Center - the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Wifi was conveniently provided for free. We also enjoyed its pool. There was also a wide selection of sweet and savory, and hot and cold buffet items for breakfast. The staff was also very polite and helpful.

We wanted a pool!Posted Aug 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very clean, receptionists were hospitable and the rooms well equipped. Breakfast had lots of choice (good value prebooked) and the pool was never busy. Life guard on duty when the pool was open and we were always able to get sun loungers. Please note: the gate end is the deep end and this is not made obvious for children. The bus is starts at €12 return to get to San Sebastian if you want to go to the beach. There are a few places to eat but children are charged at adult rates most of the time. The hotel offers a buffet which have children's prices, however we didn't eat there so cannot comment. Despite other reviews saying its an ideal location, it is not for children. The metro is about a hot 20 minutes walk away then 15 minutes on the metro. This is €3.30 return for children and adults, €4.60 for as many trips as you like. We spent over €100 for in a week purely on getting into Bilbao. The reception does not really give much tourist information bearing in mind that hardly anywhere speaks English (I speak a fair amount of Spanish and still found it difficult.) ALSO TAKE YOUR EUROS WITH YOU. Bilbao is the most difficult place I have been to change money due to bank opening times, bank holidays and needing a passport to change £ to €. Not all banks change currency.

It is what it isPosted Jul 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is exactly what it sets out to be. A functionable out of town hotel. It was clean. The prices were slightly high for food, but the set menu was very well priced and the food was lovely. The pool could do with more loungers, but it was still lovely. There are lots of large stores around, clothes toys etc. there's also convenience stores and a McDonalds. However, on the opposite side of the road there is underneath parking, with a recreational park on the top above street level. Walk right to the other end and there is an outlet shopping centre. Other shops selling football tops for €45-€75, a shop in here had them for €30!! And there are restaurants there too. Well worth a little walk round. This is a fine hotel for what it's there for.

arrived quite late after a hard hot motorbike ride but wow what a pleasant surprise. Nice friendly staff and a new looking hotel. Fantastic Spanish attitude will deff go again.
