“WORST HOTEL”
I BOOKED A 3 1/2 STAR HOTEL ,THE ALMOND BEACH AND SPA ALL INCLUSIVE ,BARBADOS. THE PICTURES WERE MISSLEADING, THE HOTEL IS VERY RUN DOWN AND WITH 5 FLIGHTS OF STAIRES AND NO ELEVATOR TO THE ONE OF THE BETTER ROOMS WE HAD BOOKED WE THOUGHT ..THIER WAS NO ,INNER HANDRAIL ON THE SPIRAL STAIRS TO THE ATTIC ROOM WE WERE PUT IN. , ONLY FLAT SHEETS ON THE BED , NO MATTRASS PAD AND NO LINED CURTAINS , THE WATER WAS COLD AND TOOK A GOOD 10 MIN TO HEAT AT ALL . HOWEVER THE STAFF WERE POLITE . WITH NO RECAUSE INCLUDING LEAVING THE HOTEL I HAD TO FIND ANOTHER HOTEL .
“Lissa”
My husband and me had and amazing time... this is a great hotel with lovely people... an unique all inclusive!! I went to so many hotels in different countries with all inclusive and I always finish paying too much in my vacation... this is a REAL all inclusive, (including water activities) and more... Love the facility of transportation from hotel to hotel, It was great that we could go to the other hotel and enjoy also there... The tour 100% Bajan is the best one I ever had!! We had so much fun that I can't wait to go back to this BEAUTIFUL island and definitely will go back to the Almonds hotels.
“Relaxing Getaway but limited beach”
The hotel premises was beautiful. I loved the room. The big let downs were the food (plain and basic) and the tiny beach that didn't exist at high tide. The beach issue was my main problem. I went to relax and escape my stresses. I came back relaxed and happy. Next time, I would choose the other Almond Beach resort on the Island which had a large beach.
“Barbados”
Very enjoyable and peaceful
“Hotel Comfortable”
The Water Edge restaurant was an experience, until it started to rain and we had to dash under cover. Enid's restaurant was not worth the visit, the soup we ordered they had run out of, my husband ordered the curry, it did not taste of curry. Sunset Restaurant was o.k. but got a little boring, they really need to liven the meals up a little more. People we had spoke to that had been coming for a few years, said that the menu had not changed in years.
“Almond NO beach Hotel and Spa”
There is no beach at this hotel. Beach access is roped off with yellow caution tape. Transportation is offered to other sister hotels for beach, but if shuttle is full you do not go. Hotel did not have the room (upgraded) that I paid for when I arrived. I needed to reject 4 rooms before the correct room was shown to me. Hotel phones have voice mail options, but no instructions on how to set up and use. Staff was very nice but not always helpfull.
“No Beach at High Tide”
This was a 1 night stay before a cruise. Everything was ok but nothing really special. There was a beach in front of the hotel but only at low tide.
“Great couple's getaway”
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights as a short break away from life's distactions (esp kids!). It was wonderful in this all-inclusive adults'-only environment for just that. Located on the "posh" side of Barbados, on the "platinum coast", it was quiet and relaxing to the nth degree. There is a spa and gym for the more health conscious. Pity the steam rooms weren't working though. Water sports were also available in the forms of snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking and catamaran-ing. A tennis court for the land-lubbers. There was nightly entertainment with a live band, a dance floor and drinks available all through the day, with a choice of four bars. The Piano Bar provided late night entertainment but was a bit too dreary for our taste. Perhaps the only real let-down was the lack of a sandy beach, although one was a short walk away (when low tide allows). Buffet breakfasts and a la carte lunch and dinners satisfied the palette (3 restaurants!). Shopping was just across the road, including a branch of Cave Sheppard. Or if you prefer, a morning shuttle into Bridgetown. To top it off, if ever you got bored of the hotel, you could visit either of the other 2 Almond hotels on the island via special inter-hotel shuttle and enjoy all the same all-inclusive priveleges, including a 9-hole golf course at the Almond Beach Hotel. Would love to go back.
“R & R”
The Almond resort was very relaxing to visit. I enjoyed the location for snorkeling the best. To your right or left you had beautiful locations for snorkeling. Food was good (lots of variety)and staff was friendly enough.
“Gorgeous Property”
Where as the rooms seemed basic and a little older, the property is beautiful. They maintain the grounds, the pool, the beach impecibly. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. Scuba Diving there was excellent. Down the street from the hotel is West Side diving and they were incredible.
