“Excellent”
Great staff, excellent food, beautiful beach. Great snorkling at the hotel beach. Many private areas to lounge on the beach. We have been to many hotels on the island some far more expensive but this hotel far exceeded their accomidations in all areas. We have allso been to many other Carabean destinations and find Barbados to be the best. The people make the experience a great one.
“Extremely Impressed”
My husband and I stayed for a week and were extremely impressed. The hotel is very clean, the staff are extremely helpful, there is a wide variety of food to choose from, it's right on the beach and excellent for just swimming or snorkeling. I'm a picky eater and was still able to find plenty to choose from between the different restaurants and menus. Although the resort includes children, we barely saw them throughout the day because everything is nicely spaced out and they tend to room adults near the adult only pool. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. My husband and I would definitely return.
“Excellent stress-free stay”
Almond all-inclusive resort was fabulous. It is so nice to not worry about carrying money or whatnot around. The shuttle for shopping is good. The only *bad* thing is that they no longer offer a shuttle to/from the airport...
“A wonderful place to vacation”
The hotel and the service were wonderful. The restaurants were phenomenal particularly the Italian restaurant. By the far the best food overall of any resort I've ever visited. The bed, like at most resorts, was a little hard which is why I scored it a 4. Other than that, great place to vacation. Very quiet and relaxing. If you are looking for a singles place, this is not it. Mostly, families and couples.
“lovely hotel/village, lovely people. lots to do”
had a great time, both in and out of the village. lots to do. You rearlly do not need any money whilst you are in the village. You are not hit for any extras, and the facilities, water sports are great..Jet ski is extra but only 25pounds for half hour. Mostly english people, so home from home..We will go again soon.
“Watersports Enthusiasts”
A friend and I went to the resort as a last minute, we are both huge watersports enthusiasts, and were thrilled to find there was great snorkeling right off the beach of the resort in the reef and up along the coast. We found many fish and sea turtles. We also spent the days waterskiing and kayaking. I had only waterskied once before in my life, and got helpful instruction from the gentleman driving the boat. Within a half hour I was up on the skis and enjoying the view for the entirety of the beach. It was a delight in the mornings to get out on the water in the kayaks or a sail on the 18' Hobie Cat. I found the food to be rather good. Breakfast was our favorite. We usually had lunch at the cafe on the beach. Dinners were good. We also had a few meals at the other Almond resort (took the shuttle), which was fun for a little change. I was impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at the resort.
“Thumbs up!”
To all you guys who are looking for a wonderul and funfilled vacation, here the place you should definitely check out, everything exceeded our expectations. I have never been so impressed with a hotel like this and for the price, very very affordable. I hope you do give Almond Beach hotels a try, you wont regret it.
“Honeymoon at Almond Beach Village Barbados”
We stayed at the Almond Beach Village Resort for our honeymoon in late May 2005, and had an awesome time. We were happy to find that the resort honored all the requests entered into the Expedia website while booking the trip. We could not have been more pleased! Location: This resort is located at the Northern end of the West Coast. The beach is relatively large for Barbados. The water clear/blue and full if little fishes. The beach is very reefy which is great for snorkeling. Bring sandals or flippers and a mask! The resort is just north and away from the congested area along the West Coast. It is bounded by a golf coarse and a gated entrance, instead of bus stops and sidewalks. Food: The food was varied and good. No complaints here. Nice decor. Everything is included including tips. We are not drinkers but the virgin daiquiris we tasty. Accommodations: The accommodations were good. The bathroom was a little small but I think this is typical. Nice decorations and furniture. Great view of the beach. If you dont have kids and are looking for quiet, request the adult section of ABV. Almond Beach Club is also an option if you want all-adult surroundings. -We dont have kids but prefer the ABV People: The islanders and staff were very friendly. Our requests were met promptly. The towns people were nice to give us directions (we rented a car at the airport with Access Stoutes to explore the island) Verdict: Loved it and cant wait to go back next year!
“Very Impressed”
Almond was an impromptu trip and the best i've had in years. Despite some of the reviews, the staff was courteous and friendly. The food was great and the drinks... nice! My dad has been gushing about it ever since and some of our friends are now planning their trips. The only issue was probably the airport shuttle which the hotel no longer has. Give it a try! well recommended.
“Almond Beach Village was a great trip”
We enjoyed our stay at Almond Beach Village and look forward to returning again. A special thanks to Jamy for our fabulous rooms which overlooked the lawn and beach near the Reefs. We had a room with a KIng bed and our kids ages 14 and 10 had an adjoining room with two twin beds. The rooms were large, clean and our housekeeper did a beautiful job each day. We enjoyed the grounds, resort, pools, beach, restaurants and bars very much. The staff was very warm, courteous and always checking to make sure we had everything we needed. A special thanks to Karen and the entire caring staff at the Kids Club . My daughter participated in many fun activities and is wearing her tie-dye shirt today! She made friends with other kids and now has a pen pal in England. My son enjoyed playing ping pong and pool each night with other kids his age. The food was very fresh and well prepared. We really enjoyed all the gourmet salads and entrees which were not overly large. We had fun at the beach and went Hobie Cat sailing at least twice a day. We enjoyed snorkeling and seeing sea turtles and schools of colorful fish off the beach. We had fun at the Carribean night and the Beach barbeque. We were very happy with our vacation and hope to return again.
