“Would return”
Men should know when they say long pants for dinner they mean it. It was OK but be prepared to comply. Staff is very friendly and accomodating.
“Great place to play”
If you are going there to relax, it will happen. The beach is fantastic and there is plenty of room around the multiple pools that you won't feel crowded. The resort is close enough to walk to other restaurants if you choose. I found the variety of meals at the resort was lacking. Having the same lunch every day doesn't give you many options.
“can't wait to go back”
Bright cheerful room, nice service, very friendly, beach was beautiful, lovely gardens
“What a nice place!”
My husband and I stayed at the Casaurina from November 10 -17th, 2004. It was our first visit to Barbados. While the Casaurina is an older hotel, it is well maintained and very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, and the beach is very nice as well. It is located at the edge of the St. Lawrence Gap area, so you are within an easy walk to lots of bars, restaurants and shopping. The main restaurant at the Casaurina had a nice lunch menu, and we ate lunch there several times - well worth the price. We ate dinner there one night, and we were not impressed - we didn't go back. We never tried the grill out by the beach, but that looked good for lunch also. We would love to go back and visit Barbados again, and when we do we plan on staying at the Casaurina!
“Good”
One big problem is why the pool with the bar says no kids at all and there's little kids jumping in don't like that , everything else was great room nice had a bottle of wine in the room , food was great and drinks, the hotel need more people to work but it was a great stay. beach nice i will go back anytime.
“Excellent place to relax and recover.”
Visigted before the renovation and had great time, Having read negative reports prior to trip had some misgiving about returning. Sure there will be unfortunate experiences now and then. Still believe it 's a great place to stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Didn't get all the names, but remember reastaurant manager Sophie and bus drier Roger. Staff works hard to keep visitors happy, especially the restaurant service. Ready smiles. Waters at beach can be quite rough and even while standing in knee-deep water the waves can suck the sand from under your feet causing loss of balance and a poentially unfortunate experience.
“"ride the waves"”
If you like ocean swimming this is not the hotel for you. The location, southern barbados, is too close to the atlantic ocean, so you do not get the quiet, calm water that you think about when you think of the carribean. There are several pools but that does not make up for the rough ocean water.
“Good Location, Good beach”
The room, hotel and staff was good. The beach was lovely. There was a nice stretch of beach front available for morning walks. The food and lunch bbq was good however I was not happy with the options available at the seafood restaurant at dinner. Will stay here again.
“Great location...go eat out”
Food was not that great. Every day at meals buffet that they were out of plates and forks. Rooms were clean. Staff was polite but slow service. Great location. Beach fantastic. Need more bar staff.
“Strange Room Allocation Policy”
After a long flight I booked into the hotel and was allocated a room on the top floor of one of the external blocks. The shower did not work, so I went to reception and asked to change rooms to a lower floor as I had a young child with me and the block had no lift. I was then told that as I had a small child I couldn't move to other rooms on safety grounds! I explained that I was on the top floor to start with but that point failed to register. If you have a young child, insist on block 1 or a ground floor room. Rest of hotel OK.
