Hotel was very nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only problem I had with this hotel was the street noise I had to deal with. My room in the D block was next to the street and was very noise especially early morning. If I stay here again I will definitely be requesting a room in the C building.

Pros: Guests were friendly and location was great No entertainment except managers party but there the steel band was great
Cons: Elevator more trust worthy Restaurant had amazing view but small selection. Good food
Location: Great location Sidewalks not accessible for mobility concerns but could be great walks to board walk and shops and food
Very relaxing and friendly. Casual dining and many guests we met were repeats for 8years to over 20 years

Awesome location, beautiful beachPosted Mar 14, 2015 on Hotels
Fantastic location, beach front. I had a ground floor room, would open the door and go straight to the beach. Nice varanda for a breakfast and drink as well. Worthing Beach is beautiful, peaceful, very few people. The room was big, fully equipped kitchen. There was a supermarket and convenience store 2min away, and also a nice bar/restaurant (Mojo's). 8min walk to St Lawrence gap. Staff was helpful, provided me an power plug adaptor and booked many taxis. Only problem happened upon arrival: toilet flush not working, it was night, so could only be fixed the next day (which they did, properly). Did I mention the swimming pool and stunning sunset?

Good Smaller Beachfront HotelPosted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: We most like the grounds, pool, and beach.
Cons: Better beds and pillows.
Location: Swimming, beach activities, shopping, restaurants.
We recently stayed at the Blue Orchid Hotel for a couple of days. As others have noted, the hotel is attached to another hotel called Coral Reef. Both hotels are owned by a pair of brothers. The restaurant, grounds, amenities, and beachfront are shared by both hotels. The property is within easy walking distance to Champers, Bert's Bar, and the Accra Beach Hotel. We really liked the well manicured grounds, landscaping, and beach area. We found the hotel staff in all areas to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and functional. We found the bed to be somewhat firm and springy. The pillows are terrible. We ate at the restaurant a few times. The menu is limited, but the food was fine and reasonably priced. Overall, we found this Hotel to be of good value and would stay again.

An Oasis on the South CoastPosted Feb 1, 2015 on Hotels
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The Blue Orchids and its sister hotel, Coral Mist, are well located on the beach of the Caribbean Sea. The staff is incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, the efficiency rooms are comfortable and well-equipped and the surroundings beautifully landscaped and well cared for. Our only concerns for a long-term stay would be the traffic noise from the busy road that runs along the property and the possibility that swimming in the sea may not be recommended. (For 3 of the 4 days that we were there, the red flag was up due to rough waters). However, relaxing by the pool is a wonderfully peaceful alternative. That so many guests we met were repeat visitors is a testimony to Blue Orchids' and Coral Mist's efforts to make everyone's stay a memorable one.

Blue Orchid is a nice little gem in ChristChurchPosted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, people. Kitchenette. Great beach and views.
Cons: Some of the appliances were getting a little dated and could be replaced.
Location: Plenty of good watering holes and restaurants nearby (within walking distance or a short bus / taxi ride). Also lots of beaches.
Stayed from Dec. 29/2014 to Jan 7/2015. The Blue Orchid is a quaint little (32 room) hotel right on the beach in Worthing, Christchurch. The back of the hotel is on a busy road, so there was some road noise if the windows on that side were open. The view from the third floor was spectacular. The location is fairly central with plenty of beach to walk going North. The hotel was in good repair and very clean. The staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. The restaurant in the sister hotel next door had a limited menu but the food was very good. Many of the people I met there had been there before or were referred to there by friends. I look forward to visiting here again.

Old but in pretty good shape on BeachPosted Jan 11, 2015
Pros: The grounds were well kept; the beach was right there; the view was great.
Cons: They do a pretty good job with an old facility.
Location: The beach was the thing; we did not do much nearby except go to Champers.
Great view from our room which was a third floor walkup. Restaurant was fine for breakfast, but not much choice for dinner. Great restaurant, Champers, a short walk away. Beach was very accessible. Plenty of hot water and you could cook in the kitchen if you wanted--who wants to?
