“A great place to stay”
The Butterfly Beach is well placed for the beach and for the social life of the island. The facilities are good and the rooms spacious and comfortable with very useful kitchen area. As with most Carribean hotels, it would be nice if the staff smiled and were more welcoming but generally this detracts only slightly from an otherwise excellent hotel. The price is comparatively modest and overall I thought that the hotle provided excellent value. I shall certainly go back.
“Beautiful in Barbados”
Wonderful hotel. Clean, on the beach, excellent quality for the money. Delightful & very helpful staff. Nice restaurant with good food. We would go back!!!
“Great value Best choice”
My stay at the Butterfly was great my maid was great she made sure I was pleased with my room and always had a smile for me. Reception desk was very helpful and it seemed all employees had great attitude toward the guests. This is a great hotel will stay again when I return to Barbados to do some more diving ............... “Great Honeymoon!”
Like many of the reviewers we found this hotel to be a great location, nice staff and beautiful beach. Debra in the gift shop is really cool and will discuss anything from politics to social mores. There is a bus stop just across the street from the hotel which goes towards Oistin's and surfer's point(to the right, east I think). If you are going to the Gap then you can take the reggae bus going to the west (or left). Or if you walk farther down to the left/west you can catch the big blue bus. Roberto the security guard is a really nice guy and will help you out with anything, he's worked there many years and is great! From the airport the hotel is about a $20 US (or $40 barbados dollars) cab ride. It seemed cab was the best way to get to and from the airport. There was a small kitchen in our room with some dishes and pans, so you can cook. There was also an air conditioner and it worked well. If you go to the road behind the hotel and take a right and walk about 5-7 min you can get to a grocery store. But the road has some parts under construction currently and it makes walking on the sidewalk the entire way impossible, but it isn't really that bad, the people there will slow down for you. they have a computer there too. the gift shop has cigarettes, books for loan, shirts, sunscreen and souvenirs, bathing shorts/bikinis and flip flops and sunglasses
“Definitely returning in October.”
My last visit to Barbados was in October and I stayed at two distinctly different hotels, one was a boutique hotel and the other was a very expensive hotel. This time I wanted to stay closer to and be able to "cook" if I didn't want to eat out. I am glad I stayed at the Butterfly. Because of the location and the small, intimate nature of the Butterfly, I was able to walk to Oistens several times, including going the the Friday night fish fry. I met several people from other countries and states and we have been in touch since returning home. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. I am already planning to return in October and all the people we met are planning a "reunion" next March as well. Overall, it was one of the best vacations I've had - and I travel frequently to the islands.
“great setting on the sea”
The hotel was in walking distance to a small mall, a nice grocery store, and the Friday night Fish Fry. I really enjoyed the dinning area that over looked the sea and the adjoining decks. The one room studio was large and had a nice balcony.
“outstanding will be back next year”
all good best holiday ever
“Great Budget Hotel in an Excellent Location”
I was there in early July and had a wonderful time. The staff were all friendly, especially John in the bar. Excellent rum punches and a really good happy hour at 12 - 1 and 6-7. The hotel is well located, right on the beach with access to the each on both sides of the hotel. It is along the main road so a trip to anywhere on the island can be done using the public transportation ($0.75 US) (blue governement bus, yellw private bus or the minvan (rasta bus) You can walk to Oistins for fish fry or to the supermarket or catch a buss (2 mins ride) to St. Lawrence Gap for excellent selection of mid- priced restaurants and night life. Try the local food, pudding and souse (from Golden Sand Hotel ( 2 mins wlak on the right of the hotel) Coo coo and fish from waterfront cafe or grilled fish from the Fish fry. Enjoy the music and colour and lay back and relax island time.
“lovely hotel”
On checking in we were given a room that did not have a balcony - discovered that this is called a 'french balcony'. After making enquiries with the manager we were given an apology and a new room which had the benefit of a sea view. Once established in the new room the holiday could start ! All the staff are extreamly friendly and helpful. The restaurant is simple but of excelent quality. Good location.
“going back next year God willing”
excellent hotel ; as some reviews say if you want 5 star dont go here. relaxing hotel -we felt it was better than the first week when we stayed at crystal cove on the west coast .lovely decking for book reading with awesome views of sea.happy hours x2 daily which was nice. big room cool with good a/c and fan. we asked for quiet upper floor and we got it. not great for kids i dont think and maybe too quiet for teens would suit 30 plus age range.
