“Decent but definately not a 4 star hotel”
The single room was spacious enough for 3 (pull out couch in the living room). Not the most modern hotel but was comfy enough; most of the hotels in the area need a facelift. Room could be a little cleaner; bathroom and tiles are a worn and or could be cleaned better. Staff EXTREMELY helpful and friendly which makes your stay more comfortable. Pool was in repair/unable to be used at the time of my visit which was not that disappointing since the beach is a stones throw away. The location is PERFECT if you want to limit taking cabs. You can walk to everything in "the gap" which has many clubs, restaurants, and a convenience store that has a little bit of everything. The room has a kitchenette and fully stocked with dishes, pots and utensils (but I do NO cooking when on vacation).

“Excellent Choice!”
I did alot of reviews before i chose Divi and i was very satisfied with my choice. The hotel was very comfortable and clean and travelling on off peak seasons has lots of benefits, such as having many facilities to myself which i thoroughly enjoyed. My room was very comfortable but i think the hotel should list the items available in the kitchenette. It was very well stocked and had i known this i couldve bought my own wine at the duty free shop :) I did not eat at the hotel since there were many options available at the Gap and i tried quite a few; pisces, cafe sol, harlequin etc. I was dissatisfied with the website's version of location. On the website, it stated that the hotel is located on the beach and while there is one property on the beach, the main hotel is located over the Gap and one has to walk to get to the beach. This needs to be clarified. Juliet from the activities centre was the best! She organised all my tours with such efficiency and i would also highly recommend the El Tigre Catamarran tour. It was the best catamarran ive tried in the Caribbean! Overall, i enjoyed my time at Divi and would definitely go back to this hotel if i ever go back to Barbados! Try it!
“very poorly kept”
the resort can be a beautiful place but it needs new mangers I have been going there for a number of years but this time was a night mare the shower stalls had mildew i bought bleach and cleaned it. The front desk staff is wonderful some of the maids are very good but some are very rude and unpleasent..But i find the managers are the worse
“Would not ever go back!!”
The office staff was helpful for the most part but there are serious cleanliness issues with this property. I went to the front office to express my concerns the room and even spoke to housekeeping directly. Nothing changed. The floors were never cleaned during our entire stay. The rooms were "straightened up" but never cleaned. Mirrors were left smuged, counters and tables were not wiped down.
“Divi Southwinds Family Visit”
Divi is a quaint multi level hotel, with kitchenettes and separate bedrooms, bathrooms. The room was very nice, but the kitchen was missing a kettle (for hot water), the combination microwave/convection oven didn't seem to work, and the lights in the living room and bedroom weren't working. We had a tv stand in the bedroom and no tv. We had 8 rooms for our family visit, somehow Mom got Penthouse (she's 85) with beautiful counters in the kitchen, nice coffeepot AND kettle. We went for a wedding to be held on a Friday evening, but, as it was, Dad passed away before he could come and we had to make arrangements to fly him home (to Barbados) to bury him. When some people came late by a day, Divi confused the situation and almost canceled the other 4 rooms. We had spoken to the desk twice, and they still had it confused. The restaurant was able to provide a dinner after the funeral on Monday, feeding 50 people nicely with flying fish and macaroni pie (and other dishes, those 2 were the best). The Food and Beverage Mgr and the Sales & Mktg Manager, Rodney and Ometa accommodated us quite nicely. Overall it was a good stay, right around the corner to St. Lawrence Gap. I just wished the kettle worked. LOL
“If going back I would consider staying here again..”
Very little or sometimes no hot water. Bad signal for tv.
“A very nice hotel”
On arrival at the Divi our 2 bedroom suite was not available although we had made reservations a couple of months before. We were given 2 one-bedroom suites as subsitute for 2 nights, then we got our 2 bedroom suite. The suite was very nice and the kitchen was fully equipped. The hospitality staff were friendly and helpful. We had a garden view suite which had a large tree right in front of our balcony partially blocking the view. On the weekend nights there was loud music from the ajoining property most of the night. Overall I would recommend this hotel and it is a good place for families.
“Would stay there again for sure.”
The resort is beautiful and close to all attractions. Theonly issue was the mattress on king size bed. It could stand to be upgraded to something more comforatbale and new.
“What a location...”
This hotel is in the best location if your goal is to eat great local food (not the Chinese food...they didnt have duck sauce...how was I suppose to eat my vegetable fried rice...make sure you go to Scottie's and get the macaroni pie...loved it, but Pizza Paradise has good macaroni pie also), great nightlife (go to McBride's on Wednesday, Ship Inn on Thursday and Reggae Lounge on Saturday...Friday is your night of rest, but go to Ostin's), and an okay beach (after a night of partying, my boyfriend liked sleeping on the beach the next morning...take the bus to Rockeley Beach...it looks like it has less waves...next time I am going there). The breakfast at the hotel was not impressive (thank goodness we did not pay for the meal plan...we didnt eat any other meals at the hotel). The hotel offers a shuttle to Bridgetown. This is a must-do. Not only for the duty free shopping but to walk around and see the Bajan people, from the guy selling fresh coconuts to the guys in front of stores hitting on the women (no matter where you go, guys are the same). Our hotel room was clean, the staff was extremely helpful (I left something at the hotel and they mailed it to me in NYC), and take advantage of the activities at the hotel (my boyfriend and I played miniature golf, tennis and basketball...I wanted to do soccer and cricket, but we were napping at the times when the hotel offered those activities).
