Great hotel, lovely beach and beach servicePosted Mar 30, 2015
Hotel is excellent, beach and pool staff are top class. The sea is part carribean and part Atlantic so the waves are slightly rough. For calmer beaches, you will have to visit beaches on the west coast. A couple of issues that other people wrote about approx 6 months ago: the outdoor hot tub does not work and it seemed like they could not be bothered to fix it. The room service staff got our order wrong/missed out food items and some were pretty rude. At 8 BDS delivery charge and 17.5% VAT and service charge, I would think that any incompetence and bad attitude is unacceptable.

Pleasant stay at the HiltonPosted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: The ocean view room was lovely, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly.
Cons: Our room was on the first floor right above the bar - it was noisy late at night. For those who are sensitive to noise, I would avoid those rooms.
Location: The location was decent - the hotel beach wasn't that spectacular, but there is a nice beach with sea turtles nearby. It's a cheap bus ride into town
The staff at the Hilton was helpful and friendly and the room was comfortable. The food at the restaurants was quite good, but a little on the expensive side - it also took a while to get our food. The pool bar only served food until 6 pm which was unfortunate, as we would have liked to dine outside. Kids 5 and under eat free at all hotel restaurants! The pools were nice and we also got some use out of the outdoor hot tub! The use of boogie boards and snorkel equipment was free. I would have liked to see some printed information freely available in the hotel, such as a guest services book in the room describing the location, hours, etc. of services, but there wasn't one. Also, there were no pamphlets available in the lobby for nearby shops, tours, attractions, etc. I found this a little odd, but all you had to do was ask. Overall, we had a nice time.

4* hotel on nice beach.Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: On the beach, beautiful view. 2 pools-always got a lounger & umbrella. This is a typical Hilton which suited us,large & impersonal. Rooms very clean.
Cons: Service slow & some staff unfriendly. Executive lounge breakfast-no plates/bowls,runs out of food, dirty tables, needs more organisation! Not 4*service.
Location: On the beach, beautiful view. Watersports, snorkelling, etc all available.Staff also run activities at the hotel
Large, impersonal 4* hotel which is what we wanted. If you want 5* personal service and 5* food then this is not the hotel to choose. The hotel is set on a lovely beach of fine, white sand. Being on the south coast the sea is quite rough and frequented by surfers, but across the road on another beach the sea is calmer. All beaches are public so it's easy and safe to walk across the car park and swim in the calmer waters. The hotel is 5 mins in a taxi from Bridgetown ,15mins from St Lawrence Gap and 25mins from the airport-$25 Barbados dollars in taxi. Used by those on holiday, business and weekend stags/hens from the US. Ideal for week long break if you want decent hotel but without the fuss that goes with smaller 5* establishments.Restaurants were fine, food quality reasonable, not cheap but it's Barbados. Nice restaurant up the road-Brown Sugar- was lovely. Or go into St Lawrence Gap for more choice. We had Executive level room with access to the Executive Lounge which included breakfast-could be shambolic-soft drinks, canapes in the evening-repetitive, but overall okay.

Great beach hotel!Posted Mar 22, 2015
This hotel is great for a relaxed beach experience - the only downside was the food, which was quite expensive but also mediocre, and there were very limited alternatives nearby.

Pools and beach were great. Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Overall excellent stay. Two things to make it better. Room keys need work. Better booklet showing what is available.

Great vacation spot!Posted Mar 12, 2015
My husband and I spent seven nights at the resort and our only regret is not staying longer. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were incredibly friendly. The pool and beach were awesome and we had no trouble getting chairs (with umbrellas) daily. We booked trips with the in-hotel tour desk and got advice from them for off-site dining, too. Cabs were always waiting outside if you wanted to take a quick trip and the bus stop was also a short walk from the hotel. The hotel was a fun starting off point for exploring Barbados and we'd love to return. Also, a business conference was going on while we were staying at the Hilton and it didn't cramp our style at all. We hardly noticed them. Overall a perfect vacation experience!

Great hotel, but terrible WiFiPosted Mar 7, 2015
Pros: Its location, amenities (especially water-related), and staff.
Location: On the south side, easy walk to Brown Sugar restaurant, and to bus stops that go into town. A shortish walk into town for able-bodied folks.
We very much enjoyed having so many types of outdoor access--sun, shade, hammocks, umbrellas, great beach towels, yummy tropical drinks, etc. The main dining room was elegant and had terrific food. The hotel is just a few steps away from one of the best restaurant lunches on the island (Brown Sugar) and across the street from a vendor who sells wonderful cutters (sandwiches). The staff, from bell captains to room cleaners, are friendly and helpful. The only knock against it is that dependable WiFi is only available in the hotel lobby. We could not stay connected in our hotel room, even when we tried to pay for highspeed service.

Good Beach.Posted Mar 6, 2015
Pros: The beach and location that was easy to the airport. I will stay there again.
Cons: I just expected more from the hotel for the price. The rooms were clean but very plain and the furniture and decorations seemed cheap.
Location: Nice location for little places to eat. Due to rain be stayed at the hotel. Food was adequate.
We waited sitting around in the uncomfortable lobby for about 6 hours. We spent some time at the pool until showers drove everyone inside. The staff seemed fairly friendly and handled the overbooking and delayed check outs extremely well. I never had any negative contact with your reception people. They were doing a great job of smoothing over the long wait.
