Simple, cost effective, great value for money

Booked 10 hours before our flight after another more expensive hotel let us down. This is a super simple offering, but if that's what you want it's fantastic. Literally a minutes walk to Dover Beach, located at the end of St Lawrence Gap this is a brilliant location. Friendly staff, everything was easy from booking in to checking out. If you want to save a clean, safe, comfortable stay at a budget... It's simply a no brainer.

Good value and quite comfortable

Location: In June the closest beaches were red flagged - can play in waves a bit but not suitable for children
In many respects better than Hilton, at a third the price. I travel a lot all and don't like resort-style or giant fancy hotels. I like places that have some local character, quiet, clean, decent shower/bed at reasonable price. Delivered on all counts except one night there were people in the adjoining room who liked TV loud and often. The walls are thin and doorway to adjoining room was little more than plywood with a gap you could roll a bottle of beer under. The other nights no one was next door. That said I'd stay again but ask/insist on one with non adjoining room

Very clean Almost prefect location, fantastic beaches only one minute walk away. Air-con, wifi, tv, central location but quiet enough to sleep. A very good budget hotel. Recommend to everyone. Very

convenience at a decent price

Pros: see above
Cons: see above
Location: centrally located near many sights
The best things about the Meridian are the price value of being near Dover Beach and St. Lawrence gap without breaking the budget. While it may not have a swimming pool or a breakfast bar available on site, it isn't very far from a cafe just down the street and the beach is a mere 75 meters away. The rooms are clean and the beds sufficient. If you are looking for a posh accommodation, go elsewhere. The Meridian is a good simple hotel option that is reasonably priced, for the budget conscious traveler. I would stay there again. Biggest drawbacks: no telephone in the room:there is a hallway phone shared by the floor (most people have cellphones anyway). Also- the internet wi-fi was sketchy at times. Other than that, the A/C was great and the balcony awesome!

Clean, comfortable close to the beach.

Pros: Very clean and comfortable.
Clean basic hotel with every thing you need and nothing you don't, very friendly staff, close to the beach, great coffee shop across the road and a small grocery store 2 minutes walk. Dover beach is about a 5 minute walk my wife and I both commented how safe we felt in the area, we walked to the Gap (about 10 min walk) every night for great food.

Fit for purpose!

Pros: The hotel is basic but very clean and had everything that I needed for my trip. The staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful.
Cons: The area has lots of hotels laying on entertainment which goes on until late but not every night but might be an issue for people with kids perhaps.
Location: There's loads to do nearby! Dover beach is adjacent and there is a bar and restaurant located in the Dover Beach hotel 30 seconds away.
I have just returned from my stay in Barbados and had a wonderful time. As this was my first foray into traveling alone I was quite anxious but I needn't have worried as I had a fantastic time. The hotel was great in a really convenient location. There is plenty to do nearby and Worthing beach is beautiful - worth the extra walk as the sea is shallow out to the reef which permits very safe swimming. Get the local bus! Really good fun and the bus ride from Bridgetown to Bathsheba is breathtakingly beautiful for the grand sum of $2. Barbados is my favourite place on earth.

good and bad

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: The staff and the cleanliness. Pretty nice stretch of beach - some resort and one public (Maxwell).
Cons: Lighting, and cutlery, bowls, etc in kitchen.
Location: Good variety of dining and shops in walking distance. Grocery store is pretty fair and well stocked.
Staff was really good. Room kept very clean. Location is not bad. A fair bit of noise from area bars, car stereos, and neighboring resort machinery. Kitchen was a bit worse for wear and rather sparsely stocked with utensils. Lighting is one fluorescent tube and one small bedside lamp.
