Property Amenities
A $10 million renovation in 2003 enhanced the spacious lobby, styled in pink-and-oyster tones, with thickly cushioned mahogany furniture, while retaining the open-air atmosphere and views of sea and sunset that guests prize. Among the hotel's treasured legacies from the 1940s is an entrance corridor framed by 100-foot Royal Palms leading to a lily-pond fountain in an open courtyard just off the reception area.
Guests enjoy 2 restaurants, a lounge, and a daily breakfast buffet (surcharge). The hotel features an outdoor pool, a fitness facility, and 2 outdoor tennis courts. Complimentary wired and wireless Internet access is available in the lobby. A shopping section contains clothing boutiques, a jewelry shop, and a gift shop. This Barbados hotel calls outside specialists for in-room massages, facials, and other spa services. 2 meeting rooms include audio-visual equipment. Laundry facilities are also on site.
Rooms
The Fairmont Royal Pavilion Hotel offers 75 guestrooms. The pink and white, Moorish style buildings with red tile roofs are accented with pale Caribbean coralstone.
All rooms have extra-large, sunset-view, oceanfront balconies or ground floor terraces furnished with dining sets and cane lounge chairs, with loosely woven drapes to tone down the afternoon sun. Ceiling fans and air conditioning provide cooling options. Flat-screen 27-inch televisions with U.S. cable channels and DVD players (DVD movies available) supply entertainment. Bathrobes are included.
Renovated in 2010, rooms include mahogany furniture, white cupboard/entertainment centers with woven tan insets, small desks with large makeup mirrors, and three telephones - including one cordless and one in the bathroom. Decor includes white walls and ceilings and pale tile floors with area rugs. Bathrooms with seafoam green marble vanities have glassed-in stall showers and separate tubs.

“Fairmont Barbados is An Embarrasment to the Farimont Chain”
The service at this hotel was appaling. Front desk and concerige staff are rude, unhelpful and downright nasty. Its an embarrasment to the Fairmont chain.
“Overrated!!!!!!”
This was our first vacation to Barbados. We were told that The Fairmont was, bar none, one of the premier hotels on the island. We decided to go this route, rather than an all-inclusive resort, to allow us the flexibility to explore different dining arenas and really take in the island. Upon arrival, we were unimpressed with the resort. It had an older feel and the staff were certainly not overly friendly. The oceanview from our room was definitely the highlight of this hotel. The prices were ABSURD!!! I wish someone had informed us that BREAKFAST runs $75 AMERICAN DOLLARS per day!!! So you can expect a $300-$500 dinner bill per evening, to include a bottle of wine. So, buyers beware! You will break the bank unless you have an ENDLESS cash flow. Lastly, the off-season is VERY QUIET. The hotel was at less than half capacity, therefore whether we dined at the hotel restaurant or one of the many restaurants on the island, we were maybe one of three other diners. It is a beautiful island with gorgeous beaches, but I would rethink an all-inclusive on the Southern part of the island where it is busier.
