Worse than Inn

Posted Mar 8, 2013
Pros: The price was quite cheap. (comparing to the others in the MWC2013)
Cons: The windows looked 100-year-old: Cold, Noisy. No facility, except 20 inch TV.
Location: Some people on the street sing and laugh LOUDLY in midnight 1~5 AM, EVERYNIGHT I stayed.
I stayed in this hotel for biz trip, during the MWC2013. One of the member in the lobby couldn't speak English.

Spartan room, good location

Posted Jun 14, 2012
Twin room had very narrow beds. Giant ceiling fan above the beds wobbled wildly when switched on - you wouldn't feel safe sleeping under it. Luckily it was not hot at night. No kettle hair drier, access to iron or anything. TV on wall but no remote control or means of changing channel. A good location. Nice little balcony overlooking quaint narrow street with cafes and little shops. Was it safe to sit on or ornamental? Chanced it and lived. No information. Thick wooden shutters muffled street noise well enough for me. Lift in working order. Security seemed ok - staff on reception 24 hours. Reception staff not especially welcoming or forthcoming with information, but not rude. Hot shower worked fine. Room cleaned and changed daily. Towels tatty but clean. Nice pillows. Attractive historic character of building. I have ticked the box saying I would not recommend this to a friend because I think most of the people I know would expect more service and facilities, but for me it was an acceptable compromise at the price.
