“Excellent hotel, slightly off the beaten track”

The Ac Gava was a delight to stay at. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was immaculate - all rooms face the beach - so the view was good as well. There was a very nice pool, or if you walk a just little further - a beautiful sandy beach to lounge on. The only draw back is that it is located in a mostly residential area, so if you are looking for nightlife or a large selection of restaurants, you will have to travel by car or taxi to any one of several close towns (including Barcelona)

“Great Hotel but will not suite everyone”

The hotel is hard to find if you are dependent on public transport or taxi's, but easy with a hire car (I would recomend a hire car if you are considering this hotel). Very good parking area and as with all the hotel, clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly but do need a little work and humour to bring the best out of them. The rooms are cleaned every day to a very high standard (chenge of bed linen each day). The interior is very much set up for the business traveller however the view is excellent of the beach and gardens. The hotel is off the C31 giving easy access to the south and north of the cost, well worth the drive. The hotel may not be suitible for children and those wanting to sit round a bar as there is no bar only an allocated area. The only disappointment was the swimming pool is drained in September, but overall a great hotel will book for next year.

“Great hotel for a quick overnight stay”

Clean hotel with good customer service. Close to airport. Near residential area, not many restaurants to choose from. Would recommend this hotel for any business traveler. A little on the expensive side.

“Nice and clean hotel”

New and modern hotel, very clean. Friendly stuff and arranged rental car for one day. Very good location by the sea (eacy ccess from the hotel) and clean and nice pool area. Beach not too crowded. Free minibar was plus :)

“Beautiful place to stay”

Fabulous elegant hotel right next to the lovely beach, and a long well-kept walkway to nearby villages along the beach. Local tapas bar, and don't miss Chez Bea creperie in Gava Mar Av del Mar, and the Torreon restaurant almost opposite.

“AC Gava”

Excellent hotel with a view of the Mediterranean. The only downside is that almost no Barcelona cab drivers know where Gavamar (the small city where the hotel is located)is. Even with the address and printed out maps with directions, our cab driver got lost and ended up turning off the meter in frustration. That said, great getaway after a Barcelona trip.

“Good hotel if you are going to the airport the next day”

This is a good hotel, staff were friendly, check in was easy. Nice coffee, tea and pastries in the afternoon. Free Wifi, in lobby. Hotel was clean, but air conditioning is turned off at the end of Sept. It was a very hot October, but we were able to open the window in our room. Marriott, you do need to upgrade your linens to match the good quality of the hotel, holes in the sheets not acceptable. Lovely pool and patio, easy walk to the beach. It's a quiet hotel, and a quiet area. !0 min taxi to the airport (30euro).

“An excellent base for visiting Barcelona”

We thought the hotel was ideal for mixing relaxation with sightseeing. The hotel was clean, modern and had excellent service. We spent alternate days relaxing by the lovely pool or walking along the 8 kms beach, with trips into Barcelona. There was a bus stop 2 mins walk from the hotel with regular buses taking 30 mins into central Barcelona.

“Very Good but be careful !!”

The Hotel Gava Mar is a superb hotel but is geared to the business traveller. The grounds are becoming established and in time will be a great asset. However the pool (basically the Hotels only entertainment) was closed (Mid September) as "Summer had finished"!!! It's location to the beach is excellent but dont expect to swim in the sea as it is too rough with dangerous currents. The service was very inconsistent with staff hard to locate but usually polite when they left their "inner sanctum". The bar is non-existent, just 4 small coffee tables.
