Very nice welcome to Barcelona in a great area near three famous Gaudi buildings and walking distance to top shopping and restaurants. Cool courtyard in the back for wine and tapas plus a venue on the roof.

Excellent hotel, welcoming staff, clean room!

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Location, welcoming staff, free WIFI, free minibar
Cons: Bed is very comfortable but does get rather hot! Perhaps just a trait of memory foam bed?
Location: Plenty of luxury brand shops / boutiques. Short stroll away from high street brands.
Upon arriving we were warmly welcomed and offered a refreshing drink while we check in. The staff has been welcoming and even gave us a quick tour on the facilities available. For the duration of our stay, the staff has been extremely helpful at giving us suggestions (for first timers in Barcelona) as well as booking some attractions up front to avoid having to queue, all paid by us of course! Rooms are clean and of a minimalist layout, it's different but we learned to like it! Breakfast (for an extra cost as it wasnt included in the room) was also great, a good start to the day. Locationwise it's perfect, just a stroll away from the gothic quarter. Taxis are plentiful and the metro is just a few minutes away. The hotel is in a nice area so no worries about getting back late. We would definately come back and would recommend this!

Excellent Hotel

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: The location and the Ambiance of the Hotel, and its excellent staff who were superb.
Cons: Nothing
Location: In the middle of the city, and all locations for the shops and Las Ramblas, also the Gothic and the port areas.
Me and partner had a lovely 4 days in the Alma Hotel Barcelona over the Bank Holiday and i cannot fault the hotel nor its excellent staff, who made our stay one of the best city break holidays we have enjoyed and would not look at anywhere else in Barcelona, and we will be going back again to this lovely city and Hotel and we enjoyed the experience so much, that we will now look to stay at other the Alma hotels in Europe where possible in the future.

Great hotel

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: How quiet and relaxing it was. The friendly staff.
Cons: The maids trolley had a squeaky wheel. A drip of oil wouldn't go a miss! Website to reference the gym.
Location: We walked everywhere in Barcelona from the hotel. If you don't mind a walk you can see everything If not the metro is 2 blocks away.
We had a lovely stay at the Alma. The location was great for us. It was close enough to all the sights whilst not being in the crowded noisy streets of the old town. The team were very welcoming, we had a wonderfully quiet room overlooking the courtyard which had all the comforts we needed and a great shower.

Great location

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Everything, literally everything.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Just off the main drag but in the heart of Barcelona. Once your in the hotel it is tranquil, quiet and very relaxing. Beautiful garden area.
I have never stayed in such a wonderful hotel. Everything about the hotel is class, from the decor, service, restaurant, room size and style. Staff were very engaging and well trained. Everything is done with style without any over the top fuss. Stayed in the hotel for three days, when my girlfriend and I return to Barcelona at some point in the future it will be at the Alma.

Enjoyable week in Barcelona

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness of the room and helpfulness of the staff.
Location: We felt the hotel location was excellent. We were near the central tourist area, however, we also could easily get to other more out of the way areas
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Itl was in a good location for getting around in Barcelona. The hotel staff was excellent. They were very attentive to their guests. The hotel rooms were clean and and tidy. There was a limited minibar available. As the items were used, they were replenished, without cost. The room had a very good internet connection.

Stunning haven in middle of bustling Barcelona

Posted Jul 25, 2014
Fantastic staff, couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Food fantastic, room very well appointed, spotless, fabulous. We enjoyed several days in Barcelona and retreating to the Alma at the end of each day was a total and welcome pleasure. Hotel has a calm elegance, a true haven.

Classy hotel in Gracia, accessible and unique

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Short distance from many Gaudi sights with a lovely rooftop bar/terrace (NOTE: closed Sun-Mon). Room was spacious and well equipped with complimentary mini bar and refilled daily. Staff muy amable y servicial! Small pool/sauna/gym in basement. Window overlooked courtyard restaurant. Breakfast seemed nice but overpriced. It's possible to walk from here to barrio gotic with gusto! Would definitely recommend/return if within budget.

Great place and great location!

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: Great service, spa, size of room, down comforters, bed
Location: Both Gaudi houses were nearby and lots of good shopping. It was an upscale area.
We happen to start our vacation on July 1, which was a day for a city wide taxi strike. We took the bus with our luggage there and were really hot. They had cold water there and were easy to check in. We liked the large room and the modern style. Also liked the spa downstairs and the swimming pool. Liked the service. Our leaving flight was cancelled due to bad weather on the East Coast of the US. They let us call to United on their phone at reception for 45 minutes.
