We could've used 2 keys to be able to leave or go back to the guest house separately. Other than that, we liked this guest house as it is located at the perfect spot for public transport, touristic and also shopping purposes. Although we were promised cleaning and towel replacement service in every three days, we didn't mind not getting it. We were happy with using the same towels for a week. My husband really enjoyed the shared kitchen, where we could actually meet the other guests. We would've liked to be able to confer more often with the staff though.

Handy location
Brilliant location in the city centre, good choice of places to eat nearby, long walk to the beach but also good metro and bus connections. Nice to meet other visitors in the apartment.

Super clean shared apartment close to all transit, connections to airport and tour buses. In the heart of the action. Only downside was that construction on the outside of the building restricted view. Great property management contact.

Property was really good in a great location, helpful staff who assisted with my late check in. Only thing, I was not aware and this was not pointed in the description- we had to share the flat with other guests. It was not something I liked since people were noisy throughout the day and night. The most important issue though was the parties next door which were lasting until 5am with people signing and shouting. That left me tired and unable to enjoy my trip in Barcelona.

Barcelona in October.
The location is perfect, very walkable to tourist areas, close to metro. Restaurants and coffee shops everywhere. Mutual use of the kitchen is good as is the shared bathroom area. Both clean daily. Beware there is a very small elevator to use, otherwise tight staircase. There is road noise 24/7.

Very poor Management skills
Our stuff was dropped out of the room on last night while we were shopping. They rented out the room while they had other rooms available. This is not professional. The manager "Diana" asked us to pay for one more night that we wanted to stay and get the reservation directly and wanted to charge us "late fee". So she pushed us to leave the place at midnight because her request was not reasonable. Very poor Management skills

Great location. Booked hotel on the day and couldn’t have been better placed. Email came quickly in English to advise arrangements. Thought late check in fee was cheeky given it wasn’t booked until post 8.30pm anyway.

Great Location, Inconsiderate hosts !!
1. At check-in time, the room was not ready, even though i came in much after the suggested check in time 2. There was a problem in the apartment, where the light switch kept on tripping and we (different people in the apartment) had to keep on resetting it 3. (This was the worst), At check-out, you guys absolutely refused to let me check out one hour later, ONE HOUR. And on top of that also refused to store the luggage for a couple of hours. As a result I just had to sit and wait in the foyer / lobby (where there are no chairs or anything to sit on) for two hours, sitting on the floor with my luggage till it was time to leave. This last thing, I just found really inconsiderate and pathetic 4. Its a room in an apartment with other guests also staying and 2 shared bathrooms. The bathrooms were almost always dirty and wet. I'm sure much consideration can be given to the cleanliness

A wonderful stay at APTBCN Super Balmes, Barcelona
As you enter the premises, it had a foul door like a dead rat but once you get into the apt the door disappeared. The couch as you enter was a shiny gray. Would be better I think w a warmer color to greet you! The room was spartan but I loved the bathroom because it was the cleanest place of all. I didn’t know that it was a shared apartment. We were told to put our drinks in an specific place in a shared refrigerator. Yet our water kept disappearing.. our room’s veranda faced the back of bldgs so we never saw the sun. The room was so dark. I suggest that the black shade covering the ceiling lamp be changed to white or beige to give more light to the room. Also maybe add a magnifying mirror in the bathroom for putting make up. Beds were good. I requested more pillows but none given but they were prompt with other requests & very helpful by txt msgs & email. I wouldn’t mind staying there again if I could have a room fronting the street because the location is perfect & Mariana w her colleagues was an angel.

Good location, bad service
There was a very expensive late check-in fee (more expensive than the value of a night in the room) that was not listed on the booking prior to my reservation. When I contested it after making a non-refundable booking, the administration refused to entertain my request. The room faces a very busy street, as well, which made the room shake when some large vehicles drove by. I would not stay here again.

Amazing central location ! Very clean space and the guide was extremely helpful and attentive. We were able to visit all the places we had hoped to see a lot easier as he gave us a map and gave us direct instructions of how to get everywhere. The hotel is clean and safe

Location is the ONLY benefit
The location was good, super central. They were also accommodating of our late check-in (BUT WE HAD TO PAY AN EXTRA 75€ FOR CHECKING IN LATE SO MAKE SURE TO READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE YOU BOOK FLIGHTS). Rooms were comfortable enough, but the shared bathroom was CONSISTENTLY dirty, which is odd because it seemed like there was always people cleaning?! I'm talking water everywhere all the time, gross showers, it was a mess. We were also supposed to get a towel change and room clean half way through our stay and it just never happened. Place is kind of a cluster so definitely won't be back.

Clean and well-located for a good price
Great location. Comfortable beds (tempurpedic pillows!!) and clean rooms. Was 4 floors up, but that wasn’t a big deal because there is an elevator. Right next to Placa Catalunya, where airport bus and hop-on/hop-off bus stops.

Very nice place. Close to EVERYTHING.
Nice. Close. Convenient. Two minutes walk to La Rambla and Plaza Catalunia. Great restaurants near by and safe area to walk all times. There is a tour agency right in front so it is convenient to buy tours over there. You do have to share bathroom but it was never a problem. It was clean and always available.

Good room and kitchen
Called from the airport pay phone to reception to let them know we were on the way, met Melana right on time when we got to the meeting spot between the two cafes. The entry is a bit dated to the building but one inside the apartment level it was nicely done and went directly into the common kitchen. The kitchen was well appointed we used it for basic cooking each night and the fridge had ample space to store our cold food. Was a short walk from our room to the bathroom which was our only negative but there was alway plenty of hot water and good pressure. The common area was always tidy and clean and our room itself was clean too. Great spot close to all the main attractions.

Well-located apartment in Barcelona
The building where the apartment is based was not easily recognisable from the street, but once you find it, you'd feel pleased at how centrally-located it is in Barcelona. Plaza de Catalunya is just nearby, and so are the underground Metro train stations so easily accessible. The building has a lift which makes it easier to carry luggage to the 2rd floor where the apartment is, however, it smelled of dead rat. The bathrooms and kitchen, though very modern and clean, are shared. We only stayed for 3 days in Barcelona, so it was an excellent accommodation for us.

Very central and for the price it was great
Great location and for the price we were amazed how central it was. Metro stops and transfers a 3 minute walk away at Placa De Catalunya. Chris met us with the keys outside the apartment and although he was a little later than arranged, he helped us a lot with directions and transport advice. The apartment itself looks quite unassuming and a little run down from outside but the actual inside of the apartment is very clean, spacious and ideal for us. We were just a group of mates but would definitely recommend.

Person who helped us with check-in was pleasant and friendly and spoke perfect English. The front door is sturdy and secure and the hotel feels very safe. We hardly saw any of the other guests, and especially didn't see them in the shared bathroom. Our room was comfortable but would have been better with air conditioning...it was very hot. Good sized kitchen, shared refrigerator, and separate smoking area. Within a block's distance to the metro and the ramblas so there is some night time noise but nothing that was over-the-top.

Perfect place to stay for a city trip
This apartment is only 5 minutes walking distance away from the shopping mile and the palza catalunya. Public transportation is reachable within in 5 minutes walking. You will find lots of restaurants, cafes and little bars in the neighbourhood. The apartment was clean and the rooms where big. Overall I would recommend this place for everyone who is looking for an inexpensive and clean place to stay.

Amazing downtown location, walk everywhere.
Small clean rooms in the city center. Super low price for what you get. Cons are, its noisy in the city center with traffic 24x7 and it can get hot in the summer with only a room fan to keep you cool. Shared bathroom and kitchen work well. Overall, it unbeatable value.

Great value but READ THE FINE PRINT
We stayed here at super balmes and also the APTBCN Rambla location. The apartments are spacious,clean, modern; there were 2-3 bathrooms, more than enough for the guests. Be careful about when you arrive; there is no reception so of they need to meet you after hours (after 8p) there is an extra charge; if you're only staying 1 or 2 nights it will make a big difference in price. Others than check in there's no real "service" but cleaning and fresh towels daily. You have space in the fridge and we made breakfast each morning which was nice. We had a very pleasant stay and I would certainly book again.
