“Super large beds :)”

Very nice hotel - great location (central but away from the hussle of La Ramblas), nice, clean room with a lovely super large bed :) Would definitely go back!

“A good choice”

A nice hotel, located close and between two beautiful boulevards quite close to action but away from the noise. access from the airport is easy - by the train (get off at Paseig de Gra'cia, and follow the map; you are about 7 minutes away). The staff in the reception, dining room etc' is helpful and accommodating. Breakfast offers variety of foods for different tastes: fruits, pastries, Vegetables,breads, cold cuts, cheese, cold and hot drinks, cereals etc'. Besides, the kitchen also offers and prepares special requests for coffee or eggs done to the guest's specifications. The single room I stayed in, was small but comfortable, and with the windows closed I could not hear the traffic even in rush hours. The bathroom was relatively big and well equipped. There are many restaurants on the boulevard a block west of the hotel, and on Aribau street, 2 blocks away. They offer nice "meal of the day", for a price far lower than the restaurants on the main "tourist streets" east of the hotel. They are worth exploring. The hotel's restaurant offers lunch too, but I was away and ate out. The reports I read in other reviews,about the sounds coming from next door rooms are somewhat exaggerated. I enjoyed my stay and felt very comfortable. Would go back there anytime.

“great value hotel”

it is a good hotel in a good location,with the staff able to speak english.Although you can only have 1 hour free internet,it should be free all the time. The only doubts I have is the quality of the spanish alcohol in nearby supermarkets.

“Hotel to stay”

Hotel has a good location.Sagrada familia is just a walking distance or 5 minutes taxi ride.Near rambla which is the main tourist area going to the Barceloneta area.The room was clean and good area size.Staff at the reception area has a good command of english.It has an internet service.I would definitly recommed this hotel to my fellow traveler.

“A most relaxing city location.”

Our second visit to this hotel because; excellent location, close to upmarket shopping areas, Gaudi buildings, surrounded by a wide variety of bars, cafes and restaurants but also within walking distance of Port Vell and las Ramblas - but, importantly, very peaceful, an oasis of calm, with lovely small swimming pool and garden with well established trees. The decor, marble and glass, is extremely attractive. Our room overlooked the garden and pool, lovely in the midst of the bustle of the city; the bedroom was very comfortable and attractive, spacious with a lovely bathroom. The breakfasts were excellent, with a very wide variety of choice. All staff were extremely courteous and helpful, nothing too much trouble. A sophisticated combination of elegance and calm, right at the heart of the city.

“Excellent 3-Star Hotel”

Very impressed for a hotel with only a 3-star rating. Good helpful staff that speaks English. Location is only a block away from a metro station that is only one stop away from Placa Catalunya, the main center of town. A variety of good small restaurants nearby that include tapas, seafood, Japanese sushi buffet, etc. ...also small places for breakfast of either coffee and a pastry or for a pre-prepared local omelette...all very inexpensive. Purchase the 10-ticket metro/bus deal and the cost is less than one euro per trip...great bargain! Taxi's are just a half block away to take us to Placa Catalunya for the inexpensive Aero bus to the airport, or make a deal with the taxi driver for a direct trip to the airport at a price we found reasonable...the hotel staff can call the taxi over for you.

“Great Location !”

The staff was very helpful, they had our room ready and checked us in right away. The room itself was clean but a little on the small side but that did not matter since we were hardly there. The condition of the room was clean but the bathroom needed a little T.L.C. I would stay there again. The best feature of this hotel was the location. It is very close to "Las Ramblas" street and a couple of the Gaudi buildings on the Pasaige De Gracie street. We felt safe in the area walking around there very late at night.

“Go to Balmes”

Balmes hotel was great! Very close to the Rambla de Catalunya on the Carrer de Mallorca, about ten minutes walk from the Diagonal metro station. The neighborhood is renowned and very elegant. One of the best rated cerveceria in Barcelona is at less than 5 minutes walk. The hotel is wonderful. Rooms are elegant and confortable: I slept very well on that new and hard matress! An internet point is also offered for free. I have been there the week before Christmas so there were not many people and the atmosphere was very nice. Price ridiculous for what they offered. Highly recommended!

“good standard and well placed”

I enjoyed my stay at Balmes, which was sufficiently far away from las ramblas that it was quiet but close enough to walk to las ramblas and various tourist attractions easily. The staff were friendly, and willingly offered advice about the locality - the standard of service was very good.
