“Modern, good, central”
Very nice all around.
up and comming location, but a TOP NOTCH hotel. Be careful and dont walk towards las ramblas on St Paul. Its got hookers and drug dealers, go one block south to the next street that is much more quiet and has a GREAT irish pub on it.
“Beautiful hotel in a great location!”
My friend and I absolutely loved the Barcelo Raval! It was immaculate all around from the lobby to our rooms. The hotel staff was very friendly and willing to help. Gorgeous panoramic view of Barcelona from the terrace. If I ever go back to barcelona I will stay here with no questions asked! Only cons were: They missed a wake-up call No water in the fitness room(only expensive small water bottles that you had to buy at the breakfast buffet in the morning)
“Good value and central location”
Since the hotel was very new, we didnt find many reviews before we booked the hotel. But we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and comfort of the hotel. The location of the hotel was very convenient, though not a great area for late night strolls. One added benefit for us was that there were several Indian restaurants around the hotel. We were happy with the service as well, including the complimentary internet. Cofee and showers were awesome. Hotel was very modern and funky. Rooftop was nice for city views, though the pool is nothing to talk about. I would rather they had a hot tub there.
“Barcelo Raval Rocks!!!”
Barcelo Raval is definitely for the young and hip; it is futuristic with a 360 degree view of Barcelona, close enough to everything but not the noise of being on a main street drag. The immediate surrounding area is to be desired, but something I am used to living in NYC, you never know what you will see when you turn the corner!
“Great place to stay”
Very nice, modern hotel. great location in a city center. Staff very profesional and helpfull, I got answer for every question I asked.. Rooms big, nice decor.Breakfast great , a lot of tasty things to choose. I will recomend this hotel to everyone.
“Set the bar”
I rarely stay in modern, stylish hotels because they are too expensive. However, the Barcelo Raval had a sale and I jumped on it. I have to say, it set the bar for my future hotel stays. Here's a quick list of the things that stood out... Awesome:: - Superb panoramic view on roof (with bar) - Free wifi! - Comes with several amenities in addition to soap and shampoo, such as a comb, a razor (with shaving cream) and a toothbrush/toothpaste - Has an iHome which plays your iPod (though it didn't charge mine, some voltage issue) - Sink area has an outlet that takes both European and US plugs - Cable TV - Shower has a ceiling rainfall setting and a handheld showerhead - Hotel workers were super friendly and helpful - Location is great - 5 minute walk to La Ramblas; about 15 minutes to the port area or Christopher Columbus statue Not as awesome - Pool on roof is very small. I had expected something I could swim in, but this was more for sitting in. However, the ocean is within walking distance so no big whoop. - Surrounding area is slightly shady, but it's still safe and the restaurants here are far better than the tourist traps on La Rambla - Room could've had better lighting, it was a little dark at night - Can't open the window, but this must be for safety reasons As you can see, the pros outweigh the cons. If you are traveling to Barcelona - stay here!
“Very Clean, Fantastic Shower, Short Walk to Ramblas”
The Barcelo Raval is a new hotel with a pretty funky decor. The shower, as others described is not for the faint of heart. The shower is used as a room divider - the bed side is obscured glass and the bath side is clear. No nasty shower curtain. The shower stall is very spacious with an overhead shower spout but also a body spray, if desired. The bath area also had a sliding mirrored door that would slide between the toilet compartment and the closet area. The room, hallways and lobby area were kept very clean. The hotel staff were all pleasant and helpful. The view from the terrace was fantastic and they have some free viewing scopes on the roof. The only negative was too little counter areas. The closet area had only one shelf on which to set a piece of luggage with the hanging rack directly above. Below the shelf were two small drawers and the room safe. There were no other folding luggage stands available. In general there was not a lot of counter available to set stuff. There was a small area behind the sink to set toiletries but the night stands were both relatively small. The desk consisted of a pole which ran from floor to ceiling onto which the TV was mounted. Below the pole was an oval shaped desk area which we found to be inadequate. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were large and fluffy. They have two computers in the lobby available for guests. Unless you are a woman traveling alone, don't be put off by the neighborhood.

“Satisfied visitors from Indiana”
The hotel was very "modern design oriented", as was much of Barcelona. So you felt like you were staying at a upscale hotel for a modest price. Our room was spacious and we loved the shower system (good spray options, plenty of water, and quickly heated water). We have been to a few European countries/hotels, and have found most beds very hard. The beds in this hotel were very comfortable. I don't want to give any negatives, since we loved our stay in Barcelona, but i suppose some people might be uncomfortable about the surrounding area. It didn't bother us, since we wanted to get a rounded taste of the city's culture. But at night, there were a few prostitutues in the area and a couple offers for illegal substances. But none of these "small business people" were pushy or aggressive. A Metro station was about a 10 min walk from the hotel. We had breakfast at nearby El Cafeti (60 second walk, much less expensive than hotel breakfast). All in all, my wife and i recommend this hotel (since she picked it!)
