Didn't stay at allPosted Jul 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had been looking for the hotel for 30min, local people didn't know about this hotel. The hotel doesn't have any signs. We walked into another hotel nearby, its staff asked us to check in a restaurant next door, as C40 doesn't have a reception. To check-in, we entered the "hotel" through a very nasty door, it was not like a hotel at all. After seeing our room, we were not comfortable at all - not clean enough, broken lamps, shared bathroom - we decided to leave and move to another hotel nearby immediately

Cozy and convenientPosted Oct 25, 2011 on Hotels.com
I really like the hotel it offered great accessibility to the surrounding sites and shopping. The restaurant downstairs also had very good food. In all a great place to stay.

Will definitely go backPosted Oct 17, 2011
C40 is an excellent choice for lodging in Barcelona. The price was very reasonable and the location is great, just a short walk from La Rambla. Our room was nice and clean and the apartment as a whole was as well. Sharing the three common bathrooms with other guests was not a problem at all; my husband and I never had to wait even once during our five-day stay. Staff was very helpful and it is extremely convenient that they also work in the restaurant below, Dostrece, for checking in, checking out, and any questions. All around great.

for last minute okPosted Oct 4, 2011 on Hotels.com
While the location is convenient for downtown explorations, it is very noisy from the surrounding streets and appartment doors falling into the lock with lots of noise. Since no a/c one has to open the window to get fresh air but it gets very noisy then. No sign on the building outside and informal management gives a strange impression when one arrives. Administration of payments and guidance through appartment is professional and satisfactory. Room and bathroom is clean and well functioning. With a little bit more time to prepare the trip, I would have looked for more 1-2 star hotels downtown to compare.

Locstion is everythinPosted Oct 2, 2011 on Hotels.com
Hostel has small rooms, bathrooms down the hall. Room was not very clean. BUT, the greeter was fabulously friendly and helpful, and the location is the reason to stay there. 1 block from the Mercado de Boqueria. We will stay again and would recommend to friends who don't mind roughing it.

Lovely staff and great location, but WAY TOO NOISY!!Posted Sep 13, 2011
There were four in our party in three rooms, all of them facing the street on which garbage is collected by very loud garbage trucks at 3 different times from 2am through 5am. Unfortunately, the restaurant/bar downstairs is also open and noisy until 3am, so you wind up getting almost no sleep at all. The staff is a lovely and the location is great, but neither is worth not sleeping for 3 days! One last thing...if you do decide to stay at the C40, find out where it's located before you arrive, as there's no address or hotel name outside, and no one in the neighborhood knows it exists. (Not even the receptionist at the hotel 2 doors down!) We were just lucky in that after our taxi driver gave up looking and we searched up and down the streets for about an hour, we went into a restaurant to get something to eat; there we found out that the hotel was actually ABOVE the restaurant!
