Nice apartmentPosted Oct 22, 2013
Pros: Very quiet area
Cons: Fix the door entry system and the locks on the front door as they are quite worn and difficult to open.
Nice apartment but a little out of the way for a tourist. Quite close to a metro stop. Door entry system still not working but one phone call and we had access no problem.

Not well managedPosted Sep 19, 2013
Pros: The rooms were nice.
Cons: Add dish towels in the kitchen and soap in the bathroom. Make the entrance system more user friendly.
Location: The neighborhood is residential. There are a few small cafes within walking distance. The Sagrada Familia is about 2 or 3 kilometers away.
The rooms themselves were spacious and clean. The access for getting in and out was very difficult. There is a "computer system" with an entry code to get inside the building. We were there before and after our cruise, and it was broken both times. We came from the U.S. without a phone that worked in Europe, so we had to stop people walking outside the building to ask to use their cell phones to call the office to get in. There were cards to use to get into the rooms, but they were extremely difficult to use. We talked to the other guests who had the same problems. That was the biggest problem. Otherwise, the rooms were quite nice and looked exactly like the photos on the internet. The neighborhood was residential, and we had to walk a long distance or use a taxi to get to any attractions. I would not stay there again.

Comfortable Apartment with Good AmenitiesPosted Aug 29, 2013
Pros: Comfortable and roomy. We were at home away from home.
Cons: The check in process was not user friendly.
Location: Visit the Unesco Heritage site of Hospital Sant Pau. There was a tour but at the present time lots of construction going on so it is not a good time.
It was not easy getting into the aprtment. The check in was not a user firendly computer, it was frozen and wouldnt allow us to do any transactions. You will need a cell phone to call them with the nos. on the front of the door to get to somebody. That took about an hour. A lady came up to help us but it was a no go for the key cards and she called somebody and they had to transfer us to another aprtment. Make sure that you get a manual key. Once we were in, it was okay and we had a comfortable stay. The aprtment was at a good ocation, easily navigating by bus or metro to Place Catalunya. Walkable to Sagrada Familia by about 20 minutes. It is next to a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Sant PAu Hospital. The Sant Pau Hospital has a chapel and there was an 8PM Sunday mass so that was convenient. Good walking distance to groceries. We were very comfortable in our three bedroom rental for 4 people. There was a rfrigerator, stove, microwave oven, and washer so we were able to do some laundry before the nxt leg of our trip. Would recommend this to families and groups of 4-5 people.

Lovely apartment if you can get in.Posted Aug 1, 2013
Although the apartment was good a bedroom light and two blinds didnt work, also there was no curtain around bath shower so the floor had to be mopped up after each shower. This was not a big problem as the overall quality of the apartment was excellent. The main problem was that the automatic check in was out of order outside and in the lobby.I get the impression from others that it has been like this for some time so it would have been good if we had been pre warned it would also stop other guests from getting angry and banging on the door and shouting late at night. Anyone going here needs to have the phone number of the main reception handy to get the combination number for your door key and hope that another guest will let you into the lobby. There were different phone numbers on the outside door but we couldnt get through on any of them.

Great locationPosted Jul 29, 2013
Pros: the location
Cons: no view from the balcony
Location: a little bit out of the way but was within easy access to the metro system which was brilliant and very easy to find your way around.
I would advise anyone going here to have a mobile phone with them. If it wasn't for a very helpful local resident lending us his phone I am not sure how we would have got into the building. There is a screen at the front door where you are told to input your details to gain access to the building and key to the apartment but this wasn't working so we were left standing on the pavement. The apartment was lovely and clean and comfortable. The sliding balcony door in the double bedroom did not lock and there was no pot to make coffee with the coffee maker. The wallpaper in the twin bedroom was peeling off the wall and during the week we stayed it had just about fallen off the wall altogether with the heat. The apartment was well stocked with towels and crockery etc. We went to the beach couple of times and the floors got a bit sandy and dirty but there was no brush to clean the floors. The air conditioning was great. While there was a balcony it faced onto the back of builidings so not the best view. The location was really good. Just round the corner from the metro station which was really handy and there was a bakers and a couple of shops just across the road which was great. It is a very quiet area and I think we were the only non Spanish people living in the whole area but that is something that we quite liked. Overall we had a great week in these apartments but they are a wee bit out of the way but if you don't mind travelling around by metro then you will be fine.

Great family place to stayPosted Jun 2, 2013
Pros: The space and the location
Cons: It could be quite noisy if you have groups staying in the other rooms
This is a well located hotel, right next to a Metro station with easy access to the beach on line 4.

Great base for exploring the cityPosted Apr 13, 2013
The Castro apartment was really well appointed and provided a great base for us to explore Barcelona. The apartments are a little out of the way but just around the corner from a Metro stop so this was not a problem. We had a lovely break.
Apartment with little to no servicePosted Jan 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
I arrived alone to Spain and took a cab from the airport. When I arrived to the building, the door was locked and I knocked and knocked to no avail. Fortunately, I had a remarkably kind taxi driver who was waiting to see me into the building when he realized I was having some difficulty. Without his letting me borrow his phone to call the number on the door I would not have been able to get inside. There is absolutely no reception or lobby. You walk into a building with just an elevator so be clear as to what you are paying for. Upon getting in the building, I was told a code to a safe to get into my room. I was given the wrong code to the wrong box 3 times before being able to find the key to my room. Do not come to this apartment without a cellphone and some patience in hand. In terms of the physical apartment, very clean and nice, spacious, modern furniture. Balconies were also a plus for my room.
quiet area, good base to get around the cityPosted Jan 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Absolutely fantastic in all areas - the apartments were spotlessly clean and well presented and good quality. We recieved excellent service and will definately be staying there again. The metro is 100 metres walk so access to Barcelona is easy. We had a great stay there and definately reccommend it to anyone.
