“Close to Everything”

The best part about our stay at Hotel Evenia Rocafort was its location. It's a couple of blocks from 2 separate train lines and within walking distance of the heart of the city if you prefer to walk. A few blocks northwest is the entrance to Montjuic. To the south is the beach, harbor and Bareceloneta. To the east is Las Ramblas, Barri Gotic and many tourist attractions. There is even an excellent tapas bar, Lolita, right across the street. The hotel itself was clean and safe. The room was on the small side and the mattress was on the hard side. We walked so much that we slept at night anyway. Bathrooms include a bidet. We only asked for a wake up call one morning and it was late so think about bringing your own alarm clock/watch. Our phones did not pick up service there.

“Great Home Base”

We booked this hotel for a total of 7 nights in Barcelona. We got into the city earlier than the check - in time, but that wasn't an issue at all. The manager was there, and he was able to hold our luggage for us until we could check in so that we could get to the sightseeing right away. We thought this was a great personal touch. Everyone that works there that we came in contact with was really great. They spoke both Spanish & English, and were more than willing to give ideas and tips for going out. Our room was overlooking Carrer Rocafort, and with the windows closed, it was very quiet. When we first checked in, I'm not sure the AC was working, but with the windows open it was no problem at all. The room was not palatial by any stretch, but who really cares when all you do is sleep & shower there. The bathroom was very nice, spacious & clean. They have a safe in each room, but there is a €20 deposit (which is returned at check out) to get the lock & key for it. We didn't mind since we got the money back, and we had peace of mind that our stuff was secure. We really liked the location, in an out of the way spot close to city center, we could walk or take the Metro anywhere we wanted. All in all we had a very nice stay, our only complaint about the room would be the bed. We were expecting to have two twins pushed together, and they did a great job making sure the two actually stayed together, but boy was that bed hard!

“Fine hotel for one night or so”

This hotel was just fine for one night or so. We were only there to board our cruise ship so it was plenty, but it wouldn't be the hotel I would want to stay at for several days in Barcelona. Everything was perfectly clean and the staff were very nice, but the location was about a 15 - 20 minute walk to major areas such as Las Ramblas, etc. There were no major dining options near the hotel, just little "so-so" holes in the wall and a ton of Pakistani-owned bars where the waiters barely speak English or Spanish...

“Hotel Evenia Rocafort”

The room was clean and modern, a bit small but ok for a short break. Aircon worked no extra charge 50E deposit on room safe key a bit steep but again no extra charge, and deposit returned on check out. Location quiet so no probs sleeping at night, & very close to Poble Sec metro so easy to get about. Only dealt with reception staff but they were efficient and friendly. All in all for the price we paid (About140gbp for 3 nights) good value.

“Clean, comfortable, and convenient”

My husband, infant son, and I spent 3 nights at this hotel in September. The hotel room and bathroom were very clean and the bathroom is much bigger than most European ones. The breakfast was included and good -- it included both cold and hot items (hard-boiled and scrambled eggs, sausage, croissants, fruit, yogurt, cereal, etc.) We had to pay a few extra euros for a wire to connect our computer to the Internet in our room, so bring your own wire if you have it. Our only issue was that the crib/playpen they provided was not very stable and collapsed twice when our son pulled up on it. When we tried to explain this to the hotel, they didn't seem to have any other option. As far as location, this hotel is not right in the middle of all the action, but is a manageable walk or metro ride to La Rambla, the port, or other locations, making it a good value for the money. We had a rental car, which you can park at a nearby garage for a fee.

“Would return”

Overall I was very pleased with this hotel. My only concern was that the blankets on the bed did not seem as clean as they might have been. The bed was also quite hard. On the positive side, there was a safe in the room and, with my ethernet cable, I was able to use the internet free of charge. The location is a bit removed from the main attractions such as La Rambla and La Sagrada Familia (about a twenty minute walk to La Rambla). If you don't mind walking, then there's no problem at all. There's a supermarket two doors down from the hotel, which is great if you want to save money on meals. There are also numerous small cafeterias closeby (not touristy places).

“Definitely worth the price for early September.”

The hotel was modern, clean, conveniently located, and adequately priced. The only downside was that the room was facing the street that was a bit noisy, but not a problem for us. Subway stations are a short walk away. Small supermarket two doors down, and everything is nearby. Would definitely stay there again. Internet was easy access and included!
