Convenient location, although the area itself does not have much to offer. Comfortable and well kept.

Nice comfortible Hotel with breathtaking views

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: we like many things from this Hotel, number one is the views, second comfot and cleaness, and thirth all the staff that are very friendly and helpfull.
Cons: the TV monitor needs replacement and free bottle of water every day.
Location: location is perfect! more relax part than in Ciudatela, and beautiful an important location near Plaza de Espana,Montjuit,Museo Nacional,Sants station.
We are very happy about our stay in Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya, the atic room that we got at a little extra was really worthly, the number 2019 is a corner room with breathtaking views of Barcelona and two panoramic windows one facing Montjuit and the sea,and the other to Sants station and Tibidabo mountain;the firs look was wow!!!and after a tired journey was very nice sitting at the two comfortable armchairs with a round table,we relaxed and enjoyed the panoramic view with some drinks, later in the evening we had dinner in the Restaurant on the top floor where the buffet breackfast is serve in a different side of the floor but with same paronamic;again the evening views from there and seeing La fuente Magica in Montjuit was really magic! the Barcelona menu we had was very very good, from the starters to the deserts, the waitreses were charming and very friendly, all in all was a perfect start wellcome to a very comfortable great Hotel!with a beautiful views every where. We have been in Barcelona before near Ramblas, and there is no much difference coming back to the Hotel by metro"undergrown"only few minutes to Torre Catalunya than going walking to your Hotel in Ramblas, this time we want to be in this side of Barcelona near Plaza de Espana, with easy reach to Montjuit with so many things to visit, we are very please too with the comunications facilities of Sants Station and metro going to any part of Barcelona, specially the transport to airport in a short time from Torre Catalunya.

The staff was so amazing helpful with questions

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Helpful staff, spacious rooms, great breakfast buffet. It was right by the train station which worked very well for us.
Cons: They were working on the hot water at the time. So we had no hot water from morning until 6p.m. The staff warned us about this so we were very grate
Location: Train station and buses stops close by. I would recommend taking the double decker bus around Barcelona to see the sights.
The staff is amazing helpful with questions about sites to see, how to get there and what are you options of transportations. We took an upgrade and did not regret it at all. The views were amazing from our room. Rooms were so spacious and bathroom had shower and bath tub separate with toilet area having its own door. I would recommend getting the breakfast buffet package. They had quite a wonderful spread of food of all types.

Wonderful location, close to eateries, shopping and sight seeing places. From the upper floors you can see beautiful views of most of the city.

Lovely hotel, clean, large room.

Lovely hotel, large room, lots of light from large windows. Spa very nice extra 7 euros, but can use pool next door at expo hotel. Easy to get around to all sites via metro, but can walk to Espanya in 10 Mins, great shopping center, and lovely restaurants on top floor. Visit monjuic magic fountain. Excellent.

They did not have our reserved room on the first night, so they had to give us a room at a different hotel. But for nights 2 and 3 they gave us an upgraded suite at our reserved rate. Room was very nice and staff was very helpful and friendly.

Convenience, comfort and price -v- central

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Couldn't fault the staff, the accommodation, the facilities, the location, the quiet of the rooms, the air conditioning, the whole ethos of welcome.
Cons: Check in staff forgot to tell us that the hotel with the rooftop swimming pool and sun deck next door is also theirs - part of the same group.
Location: Sants Estacion means you're able to access all the metro lines with ease to access central Barcelona & it's a 5 minute walk to Montjuic and the MNAC
Off the plane - on the train - arrive at Sants Estacion (station). No idea where the hotel is other than it's by the station. It's hot and we're already weary. Walk out the station to the right side and there's the hotel - can't miss it. Walk into reception all weary & worn and immediately get hit by the a/c. Staff checking in are lovely. Take us to our room - it's big, light and the view is fab. Our bathroom - well - it was so used because we didn't want to leave it. Generous with Molton Brown toiletries. Super. Large roomy walk in shower with adjustable height shower head so you don't have to get your hair wet - two sinks - magnifying mirror for shaving/make-up. Lovely towels and enough of them. Good bath again with a shower hose for washing weary feet. AND towel robes and slippers. Tea & coffee. BRILLIANT professional hairdryer. Ironing board & iron. Big fat pillows and loads of them. Comfortable beds - not soft but not too hard either. Enough plugs for charging next to the desk and full length mirror on the sliding bathroom door. Fridge and safe there as well. We had to ask for more hangers (there's 2 wardrobes for hanging garments) and they came quickly- as did ice as the machine in the corridor wasn't working. There's so much good I haven't the space to write it. There's a lovely Spa & pool in the basement. The reception staff will help you organise all your tours and print off your ticket vouchers. They're very knowledgeable and helpful.
