Rooms

“Rooms look nothing like the pics, terrible service.”

I was extremely upset with my stay at this hotel. The rooms were nothing like the pictures and ours didnt even have a window, only a small opening on top of the floor and a skylight. I was told there were no other rooms available and the pics advertised were for their suite. In addition to this the key card didnt work for our room and we had to go downstars 5 times and wait over 1 hour before we could get back into our room since the grossly inept staff couldnt fix it. I live in a 3rd world country and have experienced bad service before, but this place is in a league of its own. There are many hotels in Las Ramblas and I would highly recommend staying elsewhere.

“Erica”

This is a great hotel in an excllent location. It is super close to the cathedral and the Espanya Metro stop, and within walking to most of Barcelona's sites. There are also lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Make sure that you are not booking a "petite" room because it is really tiny, apparantly. We overheard several guests complaining about this room at the front desk. The breakfast was very good but overpriced. Just across the street and down a little is a bakery with great coffee and breakfast items. Free coffee and cava are available in the lobby in the afternoons and evenings. The rooms are very clean and free wi-fi is available in the rooms but it was sometimes very slow. Great hotel! We would stay here again.

“great weekend”

the hotel is located on a small side street in the barri gothic section. the location was perfect a starting point for everything my wife and I wanted to visit. the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. whatever we needed which was little they helped us with from diirections to calling for a taxi. they offer a nice breakfeast buffet. this was the first time we stayed with an H10 property and we would definetly stay with another one. our stay at the Raco del Pi made our visit to Barcelona that much better.

Area recommendations
this property was located in the barri gothic section of old town barcelona. it was in walking distance to the metro or even to just walk around. would stay in this area again.

“Great hotel. Great location.”

We loved staying at the H10 Raco Del Pi. it was a well kept, clean hotel in a great location - a short walk to and from Las Ramblas. My only complaint is that the beds are not terribly comfortable and the rooms were warm. A couple of nights, it was pretty noisy outside, so we had to sleep with the windows closed. But other than that, it was an awesome experience. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Area recommendations
I would definitely recommend staying in the Bari Gothic area of Barcelona. It's the older section of Barcelona with lots of history, shopping, cafes, and bars. The Las Ramblas offered a lot of entertainment with a variety of street vendors, artists, and entertainment. Be careful of pick pockets, however. If I get a chance to visit Barcelona again, I would definitely stay in this neighborhood and stay at the H10 Raco Del Pi.

“quiet friendly location”

What a great hotel. Everyone was so helpful. The outdoor patio was fun weather it was our party of 4 or when other guests asked us to join thier group. Really fun meeting people from all over the world. The only problem we had was the taxi did not know the exact location of the hotel.

“Location was great!”

We wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel. The location was excellent for shopping, eating and walking through Old Town. Metro service just a short walk from hotel. Very convenient. The staff was helpful, friendly and very good at their jobs. Plus we loved the champagne on check-in and the snacks available at the reservation desk every day.

Area recommendations
Barri Gotic--for great shopping and people watching La Ribera--Picasso Museum and some great restaurants L'Eixample--Great architecture: Block of Discord, Sagrada Familia, etc.
Must see
Antonio Gaudi's Sagrada Familia, the Picasso Museum and walking down La Ramblas.

“Barcelona's little gem”

This hotel has a great location with a lovely staff. They are knowledgeable about the city and can answer all your questions. The hotel offers champange in the lobby throughout the day. What could be better than returning to your hotel after hours of walking the city and being handed a glass of the bubbly! We did not opt for the hotel breakfast, instead ate at the pastry shop just moments from our door, so we can't comment on the food. Cathedral Barcelona sits just a block away and the open air market on La Rambla is a five minute walk. Shops surround the hotel and the area is clean, lively and pleasant. Buses and the metro are both easily found on La Rambla. There are not many places that you would need to taxi to, most all of Barcelona can be seen on foot or a short ride away on the metro. We were extremely pleased with this hoteland it's staff and would recommmend highly. Our room was very small, an upgrade was available, but we spend little time in our room, so we stayed with our orginal room which was adequate. Rooms were clean and quickly made up. Free WiFi was available to all guests. Barcelona is a lovely city and we enjoyed everything about our stay.

Area recommendations
We enjoyed the Barri Gotic, walking La Rambla, the harbor area and both the Segrada Familia and Park Guell areas.

“Great location”

This hotel is centrally located, right off of the main street (Las Ramblas). The room was clean and functional, and the staff was very helpful.

Area recommendations
Barre Gotic (Gothic Quarter) - this is where many of the restaurants, shops and attractions are located.

“A gem off Las Ramblas in Barcelona”

H10 Raco Del Pi was a terrific hotel. We stayed one night before our cruise started and one night after the cruise ended. Hotel location is not far from Las Ramblas and the English-speaking front-desk staff members were pleasant. Free Internet access was available near the lobby for printing airline tickets; free wi-fi in the rooms. The hotel is environmentally friendly--you put your key in this slot on the wall to turn on the lights and when you leave the room with your key the lights go off. Breakfast was available for an additional charge, but we found some places nearby for reasonably priced pastries and coffee. Surrounding neighborhood could be a little noisy at night. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.

Getting around
The hotel is not far from the Placa Catalunya, so we took the aerobus from the airport to Placa Catalunya for 7 euros each which was much cheaper than a taxi. We walked to the cruise terminal from H10 Raco Del Pi, but it's a long hike and you have to climb a steep hill to get to the cruise ship terminal which is not easy when pulling your luggage with you. Not advisable to try to walk from hotel to cruise ship terminals if you have difficulty walking for long distances or on uneven pavement--take a cab instead. We initially wanted to take a cab but the Barcelona marathon blocked many streets and cabs could not get around easily. Cab back to the hotel from the cruise terminal cost about 15 euros. The cab driver said he couldn't get to the hotel because the streets are so narrow so he dropped us along Las Ramblas and we walked abut 5 minutes with our luggage the last part of the trip. The streets are actually wide enough for cars but we were on vacation and didn't want to argue with the driver, especially in Spanish.
