Nice hotel in heart of old town Barcelona

Posted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: Location, price, friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, grab bars in bathroom next to toilet. Champagne and nuts upon check in.
Cons: A roll in shower would have been good for me, but at least I could access the toilet and the sink.
Location: The hotel is in the heart of the Gothic district of Barcelona. There are many plazas with eating + entertainment, Las Ramblas, shops, historic area.
This hotel has a great location within walking distance of Las Ramblas. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It has an intimate feel, and an inner court yard, small bar, and decent breakfast buffet for a very reasonable price. We were able to walk to a fabulous market, many restaurants, and metro stations. We also walked/rolled (I use a wheel chair) to Barceloneta and the water front. The metro was nearby, and taxis were just minutes in coming. Our last night, there was a food festival on Las Ramblas, and we were able to sample food from great chefs and wine or beer for a good price.

Charming, centrally located in Barri Gotik.

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: Location, great staff, good deal for the money.
Cons: We're used to larger TVs in the hotels we frequent, but you're not going to be spending a lot of time in your room, because of the fabulous location.
Location: Barri Gotik, the "old" medieval part of the city, wonderful for strolling, shopping, pub-crawling the tapas places. Roman gates and cathedrals nearby
The Hotel Raco del Pi is a wonderful place from which to experience Barcelona. We found them in Rick Steves' book on Barcelona. Centrally located in the ancient Barri Gotik, plenty of restaurants, shopping, museums and archaeological sites to visit within walking distance. Real medieval street layout (few right angles), so keep track of landmarks and have a map. A few minutes easy walk from the Ramblas. Check-in and check-out was very smooth. Complimentary coffee in the morning and kava (sparkling wine) in the afternoon. Very nice in-house breakfast available for modest extra charge. Modern rebuild of an older structure, it has a modern feel that fits very nicely in the Barri Gotik, including a very cool glass walled central courtyard and elevator. A/C cooled the room nicely (stayed here in June). Rooms have comfortable beds, and our corner room (304) had two working balconies. Very friendly and accommodating staff (all spoke fluent English). This is located on a pedestrian-only street (as is much of the Barri Gotik), but cabs are allowed to come up to the front door.

Good location. Avoid Petite Room.

Posted May 23, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Making clear the inconvenience involved with reserving a "petite" double room.
We reserved a double room but only upon arrival were we advised that our reservation was for a "petite" room. The bed was positioned up against the wall and there was barely room space to move around the bed to access luggage, bathroom and exit. We tried to upgrade but no rooms were available. Expedia should definitely improve its description of the rooms in this hotel.

Serenity Among the Madding Crowd

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Clean and modern rooms. Helpful staff. Great location.
Location: Great area for walking, shopping, dining, and several beautiful churches.
This was our first trip to Barcelona, and we had a wonderful time. This small hotel in the old part of the city offered a quiet refuge from the lively, noisy activity of the streets below. I love the shops and sites of Barcelona, but it is huge and can be overwhelming. This modern, clean, well-designed hotel with its friendly and helpful staff gave a nice break to us. The staff was helpful with information about tours, the airport, and set up a taxi for us with a very conscientious driver. It is located in a pedestrian area of the city which means there is great walking with very little car traffic. We would return to this place.

Perfect hotel for exploring Barcelona

Wonderful hotel in the heart of the Gothic district of Barcelona. While our room was small, it was beautifullly organized with a nice size bathroom. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I am lucky enough to be in Barcelona!

Gutes Stadthotel in perfekter Lage trotzdem ruhig

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: Lage
