“Good hotel, Superb location, small rooms”

The hotel is in a superb location, and has a good price, but as a result has small rooms and spaces. The bathroom is good-sized, but the bedroom is small and feels cramped and congested with a queen-sized bed. Good to sleep in but not to hang around the whole day. On the other hand, clean and spotless, good, free internet. All in all, a great place to stay if you want to be close to the city centre, less so if you want to spend most of the time in the room.

“Can't wait to go back”

Beautiful room with desk in sitting area, large screen TV, patio with table and chairs, separate washroom from shower and toilet.

Area recommendations

Universitat Ronda, Barcelona is a central location for buses, metro, shopping and restaurants but not far from the main tourist streets, La Rambla, Raval and Catalunya Square.

“Great Location, Very Clean”

The H10 Universitat hotel is located right near Catalunya Sq. in the heart of Barcelona. The location is very convenient for all that you might want to do in this beautiful city. Even though it is right near all the action, it is a quiet hotel. The staff were friendly and spoke English very well. The room was very clean but probably not as big as most American hotels. The bed was enormous which was nice but it was really firm - be warned. The shower was wonderful. Would totally reccommend this hotel for a stay in Barcelona.

Area recommendations

Las Ramblas isn't all it's cracked up to be. We much preffered Passeig de Gracia or the Gran Via for walking around and soaking up atmosphere. The Gothic quarter was also nice for roaming around. La Sagrada Familia is a must see - amazing!

Shopping

Go into Cort d Inglese - it's a Spanish department store. Best place to find gifts to bring home without having to shop and haggle with the guys on the street. We bought some beautiful Spanish fans to bring home.

“Average Hotel”

Typical small European hotel room. Complimentary glass of champagne when checked in. Slightly less than one block from the square (Placa Catalunya). Comfotable bed. Reasonable sized bathroom. Has the usual British and American TV news channels. Front desk personnel and maid were very pleasant.

Area recommendations

Recommend the Plaza Catalunya area for a tourist like me. Lots of people (both tourists and locals), in the square, Las Ramblas, and the cathedral area.

Getting there

If you are coming from the airport and staying at this hotel or at the Placa Catalunya area, take the Airporter Bus rather than the train. Cheaper. Runs more frequently. Goes to both airport terminals. And stops right on the Plaza (the airport train stops about 5 blocks away)

“Amazing Barcelona”

We have the double room, not the basic. I'll say it's worth every penney. The room is big in European standard. Good size bathroom. Comfortable bed and clean room over all. The best of the best is its location. It is located among 3 major metro/train stops. Extremely convenient to anywhere you want to go, in or out of Barcelona. Also, the area is nice and safe. You can feel comfortable hanging out late at night. Also, the area is full of great restaurants and tapas bar. We love the food there!!! And the price is always very reasonable which makes it even better. The hotel buffet breakfast is not bad at all, despite of some reviews. The tip is you have to be there earlier but I think it is the same idea for any buffet. 10 euros and you have great selection and everything I taste is great. Table serviced tea or coffee, generous size. If I ever visit Barcelona, I will stay here again!

Area recommendations

Old city is nice but I think it's more for tourist spots. And you definitely have to watch out for pocket pickers!! South of Placa Catalunya, La Rambla is the area you need to be alert. El Ravel, while rusty during the day, a bit not friendly at night, so I would suggest avoiding it. For dining and shopping, I would recommend Pg. de Gracia or Rbla. Catalunya or Gran Via. Out of town, Montserrat and Figuas (Dali Museum) are a must.

“H10 Universitat...we miss you!”

We had a wonderful time at this hotel! It was always clean, no noise, everything was walking distance. H10 crew were always helpful and pleasant. We will definitely stay here again and we recommend this lovely hotel to everyone.

“Best choice at centrum in Barcelona”

Once i arrived at the hotel i found it was nearest of my own onteresting points than i thought, i met with friendly staff in a very nice reception, even i arrived early (around 10 a.m) i could check-in without any problem, so i could go to my romm and rest, eventhoug my room was smaller than i expected, was clean, with a spacious bathroom (compared with the space of the room), during my stay all the staff were always availabel to help me, its a very nice hotel

“Best location and very clean”

This hotel is the perfect location for good restaurants, transportation, tour buses, train, metro and shopping. Everything is within 1 block away. The staff especially Erika from the front desk is very helpful. Made good recommendations for Tapas and even made reservations for us for dinner. I highly recommend this hotel. The room is a bit small but the cleanliness and the big bathroom makes up for it. This is more convenient, safer and quiet than the Las Ramblas area that we stayed in before. I made a note to stay here again next time we visit.

Traveler's tip

Must see is the Mt Montserat Monastery. I also hightly recommend the tour buses that goes around the city.
