“Good all round”

A short distance by public transport or taxi from the centre but far enough out to be quiet at night. Comfotable and clean and staff extremely pleasant and helpful - nothing was too much trouble.

“HCC Covadonga - Stay in Mid-March 2012”

A very well maintained and operated hotel at a fair price. We absolutely loved the location and the hotel staff was always available and responsive to our needs. The room was very clean however the constant noise from the hallways, adjacent rooms, and the slamming of doors was a disruptive and prevalent issue throughout our stay. However, these complaints did not ultimately hurt our experience and we would certainly recommend the hotel to our friends and family.

“Very Good Centre for Short Break”

Hotel was well situated for exploring Barcelona. Rooms are quite good bearing in mind that you will be out most of the time. Try to get room on second floor with balcony, nice to sit out in late evening. No restaurant but very good one across road -- Pipers Tavern -- very Spanish. I would watch end of term times -- they do have old school parties who tend to be very active changing rooms during the night and tend to fill up space at breakfast. This was quite expensive but with very good choice and no limit.

“Good Location”

What I liked about the hotel the most was the location. Shopping, resturants and public transportation was within steps outside the door. There were two Hop-on Hope-off bus tours within two blocks and a mall across the street. Public bus was acrosss the street which took me to Las Ramblas within 15 minutes for 1.50 euros. The return let me off at the door of the hotel. Staff was very helpful and knowledable about resturants and entertainment around town. The "Hot Breakfast" turn out to be the "Basic Continental Breakfast", but a good start for the day. My only complaint was the bed which consisted of the cheapest bedding they could find.

“Good location”

Convenient location on good shopping street. Room was very small & basic - but very clean - and right by elevators, but noise levels were relatively low. View was nonexistent (room faced a tall building).

“A little too far from main tourist sites...”

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights at the end of March 2008. The hotel is only about 15/20 mins walk from Sants station, and I would advise you do walk if you know where you're going - my taxi driver seemed to take me on a bit of a roundabout journey on my first trip from Sants to the hotel. The hotel overall was fine, but it takes 20/30 minutes to walk to the Ramblas. BCN has an excellent metro system which has stops at all the main sites. The nearest station is Hospital-Clinic (again, a little hard to find at first). Hotel staff were pleasant, apart from one lady upon check-in. Only English speaking channel is CNN. There were no coffee facilities and a request for an iron produced just that...no ironing board was available. Although the rooms had minibars, these were very highly priced - twice that of normal bar prices for a beer. The room was starting to show a little wear but was very clean, comfortable, and serviced every day. Second floor rooms seem to have balconies, which was nice. But only one chair was provided in a room for 2. I would go back to this hotel, but only if I were able to get it on a deal, rather than pay rack-rate.

“Dark en formal”

Hotel room was very dark, no day light entering the room. Also, the interior is very formal, and it doesn't invite Barcelona visitors to enjoy their hotel. It's very business-like, for those who only sleep in the hotel, and don't expect anything else than a confortable bed.

“Not Impressed”

The hotel location was far from the Barcelona's hub, but we knew that. Our room was a dungeon. The only view from the window was four outside walls, (there was a sky up there somewhere),so we never knew if it was day or night. Room service varied from very good one day to very poor the next two nights. The neighborhood of the hotel was very upscale, and we ate in local area restaurants where the food was very good.
