hotel close to the portPosted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: it was safe... sort of. The attendant opens the door for you, so you can be assured that people aren't just randomly walking in and out.
Cons: get rid of smoking rooms, get rid of big phone use charges...
The hotel Heperia del Port can be described as ok.... I was a little shocked that a two minute (literally) call to the airline's 1 800 number cost me 15 euros... and i was booked in a smoking room, even though I had requested non smoking... I woke up one morning with the smell of smoke so bad I thought I would vomit. Other than that, the hotel was fine. Safe, clean... the bed was uncomfortable, but I slept okay.

good hotel for the pricePosted Dec 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very helpful & allow us to check in early but with an extra charge of 10 euro. The location of the hotel is very close to La Ramba center so we can walk to many restaurant around that area. It is close to Port Vell.

Close to Port, short walk to Las Ramblas and MetroPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Location, location, LOCATION to Cruise Port, Las Ramblas, Waterfront area, Metro Subway, Taxi, action, convenience store etc. Price cant be beat
Cons: 3pm check in too late. breakfast too expensive. "tiny bit" of updated furnishing in the room. But again....for the VALUE....this place can be beat

Probably the nearest to the cruise port and a decent quality hotel. We arrived from the port at 9am which is way before the "3pm" check in (later than normal) but Receptionist allowed us to store the luggage so we could begin our touring of this Beautiful City of Barcelona. We opted NOT to pay 15 Euro for early check in. I forgot to ask for "non-smoking" rooms but even then only one of the two rooms had a very slight smoke smell. Cant beat this price/value/location/convenience for a 2-4 day visit of Barca. The Continental Breakfast upgraded with some eggs and fruit was offered at 15 Euro per person and when I declined it dropped to 9 Euro "on check in only". We just went to the little convenience store two doors down and picked up breakfast essentials and a case of water, soda etc for about 3-4 Euro per person per day. We used the fridge in the room and Whalah....we saved quite a bit of money and had convenience of eating when we wanted. Room was clean but smaller than a typical Holiday Inn Express....European .....no problem at all!!!!! We felt safe to walk around the hotel at any time of the day/night. There is a park across the street where you can easily join in pick up futbolito(street soccer), skateboard, basketball etc. People are friendly and happy here at the hotel and throughout this city. The subway is right there and is easy to use, inexpensive, clean, safe, reliable. Wave a taxi down right in front of the hotel no problem. Rambla is just 1.5 bloc

The room of this hotel is small and noisy.Posted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: The hotel staff is friendly.
Cons: The room should be bigger.
Location: Location is close by La Ramba. It's within walking distance. Not recommend walking by yourself at night.
The hotel room is very small. The room facing the front of the hotel is very noisy. You can hear the traffic noise in the room to very late at night.

Good location/price/comfort, but noisyPosted Oct 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was comfortable and very clean, but it's decor has seen better days. But for the price and location (about 10 mins walk from Las Ramblas and the port), it was absolutely fine and the staff were very friendly. Main complaint was the noise - stayed in a room on the first floor, and all the lobby/reception noise carried up, particularly the clanking of the breakfast dishes being cleaned in the kitchen, very noisy! Noise also carried room to room (heard someone having a good time one night!) Also kept hearing the metro rumbling through the building, which was a bit disturbing at night. Would probably look for other options next time, but it was fine for price/location/comfort.

on the Metro line to La Sagrada FamiliaPosted Oct 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a small, modest hotel with a good free breakfast and excellent receptionists, very kind. No amenities for the bath, just the basics, but a great location for getting around the port sights, like the aquarium, and getting the Metro to other places.
