Located right in the gothic district of Barcelona it is convenient to everything you would want to see. You are within walking distance of two different metro lines and multiple bus lines. From your balcony you can sit and sip coffee while watching everyone admire the sights below you and listen to the church bells ring.

Lovely hotel in an excellent part of Barcelona
The Hesperia Barri Gotic Hotel is located in the gothic part of Barcelona. As positioning goes this was amazing. The marina is across the road, the Ramblas at the end of the road and public transport can take you easily around this city. Food shops are everywhere so it is excellent for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tapas, cocktails or anything you can think of. The staff at the hotel were all really friendly and helpful. We booked a small double room by mistake but this was fine for our 3 day stay and had a large shower. Potentially every room has a little balcony ours was at the rear of the building. It can get a little lively, so passers by can be heard late at night but generally it was fairly peaceful. The 5th January three kings parade passed by at the marina and was a great bonus to our trip. Only negative is smoked glass doors to the bathroom, looks posh but not great when you have a poorly stomach and need some privacy. Highly recommend this though and would definitely book again.

A lovely hotel tucked away from the busier streets nearby. Plenty of dining options nearby with multiple transport links within a short walk. The beach also is just a short walk away. The staff were very friendly and the room was perfectly clean with all stated amenities provided eg iron/coffee machine/kettle.

This hotel is large and modern with a gym. Our room had everything we needed and large enough for our stay. The bathroom is spacious, though the bathroom door does not lock and one in the bedroom can hear all the noises that another might make in the bathroom. The front desk person who helped us was not only nice, but extraordinarily helpful in figuring out the best way to get us to the airport due to a marathon happening on our checkout day that we weren't aware of.

Excellent Hotel
This property is amazing. Second time visitor of Barcelona. Hotel is extremely clean with Spacious rooms. Great location with walking distance to most locations. Hotel staff is excellent, professional and very helpful. In fact, I left my cell phone in an Uber car after being dropped off at my cruise ship. After contacting the Uber driver he agreed to bring it back to the Hotel who packaged it and I arranged for a mail courier to send it back to the United States to my home. Totally recommend this hotel. Price for value is excellent. Will stay again if I return to Barcelona.

Central to everything. A great area. The property needs to be renovated. It has a muggy smell when you walk in. The carpet looks extremely old. The room I stayed in was very small, but with some major updates and personal touches for guest the property could be way better!

The hallways and general furnishings were old and worn and the place needs updating. It is definitely not worth the money. Street is noisy and dirty. There is a good restaurant just up the street.

The property is centrally located and the staff is very helpful. Unfortunately we stayed on the mezzanine level and we didn’t have any internet in the room and the TV in the bedroom did not work during the entire stay. The staff informed us that they had an issue on the floor with the internet. Also, since the hotel is dated, they use a lot of freshener. Unfortunately, the smell is very strong, specially in the lobby, and not too welcoming.

Majority of our Stay was Great!
All staff were very helpful, friendly, and hard-working. Beds were comfortable, our room was always clean, and the location, it can’t be beat. It’s close and walking distance to all conveniences- tourists attractions, beach, shops, cathedrals, public transportations, bike rentals, and everything for tourists. The only thing that bothered me the most about this hotel was the air freshener. They constantly, continuously use it, which I am speculating, to probably mask the sewer smell. We can smell the chemical air freshener 12 feet away as we enter the front door. The first time we checked in, the smell was strong, I know it was toxic and not natural, cause I felt dizzy and disturbed. We booked our stay for 10 days so every time we come in, we had to hold our breath and run to either elevator or stairs to minimize breathing the chemicals of the freshener. I always felt sorry for the front desk awesome, friendly staff because they have to endure inhaling the toxic smell all throughout their shift. I hope they could greatly improve that by using environmentally-friendly, natural ingredient, air freshener, if they really have to. I also hope they have recycling bin encourage us visitors to use it. The amazing staff from the front desk to the housekeepers, the very comfortable bed, and the location all made up for our otherwise great, long stay. We ended up making it a game for ourselves to hold our breaths every time we had to go back go to our rooms. That part was forgettable.

We are glad we stayed here and would do it again. Great location within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, Ramblas and shopping. We are probably a little spoiled Americans and I apologize for that but the room was warm. It was hard to sleep. But the room was very nice otherwise . It was modernized and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom and shower was great. There was no ice. The staff was friendly.

The hotel was in a very good location, in the old city and close to the port. The air conditioner was not very effective, as we could not make it cooler, seems it was pre set, and it got quite hot in the room. The staff could not help with this but were provided excellent service and were very helpful otherwise

Overall quite good. Did not appreciate having to pay an unexpected tax. This tax should have been included in the quoted price of the room. Would have appreciated luggage racks in the room so the suitcases don’t have to be on the floor. Also, the room was somewhat awkward with the bed so close to the closet. Could not open the closet door.

Wonderful location. We could walk almost everywhere from this property. Many of Barcelona’s historic sites and attractions were within walking distance. Many restaurants of various price ranges and cuisines were to be found in the neighbourhood. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds and great towels!

The staff here is very friendly and helpful. They stored our bags before and after checkout out and were helpful with all of our questions and even printed train tickets for me when I couldnt download them to my phone. The room itself is very small with a very small balcony (paid extra for a balcony room). We did have a coffee maker and the bed was a king size and VERY comfortable. It was a nice shower, renovated bathroom with bathrobes. Overall, very nice, just very tiny room (but its Europe, so most of them are tiny)

The room is very small and there’s no balcony at the first room and was stuffy. We requested for a change which can only be effective the next day but still just long window not as per picture. Very basic hotel
