Friendly, clean and relaxed hotelPosted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: Everything! please read above
Location: Nestled in a side street a stones throw from the Port Vell, with a short but pleasant bicycle rickshaw ride away from the beach.
From the moment we arrived the atmosphere of this hotel was inviting and efficient. We found the whole place to be very clean and well presented for a small to medium sized hotel. The staff were very professional, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Location was surprisingly good once our bearings were found. Nestled down a side street near La Rambla's and a stones throw from the Port Vell. Good location for access to tourist bus route was also a plus point. Room was fantastic with an amazingly spacious bathroom set to the back of the hotel away from the noise of the Irish bar across the road. Irish bar is great for when you want a friendly drink to the small hours! ;) Room also had a useful safe and well stocked mini bar. The breakfast provided at the hotel is outstanding and well worth spending the money on. Flexible eating times, with a longer duration on weekends made this a must in our opinion, not to mention the vast variety of choice on offer. Will definitely be coming back here in the near future.

Great Area! Nice HotelPosted Feb 9, 2014
I spent 2 nights at the Hesperia Metropol. Had nice time there. Got lucky because of the room, it was a big room, the hotel have smaller rooms, if I'd had one of those my review would have been quite different. The location is flawless. Close enough to Ramblas, and in the middle of the beautiful and impressive Gothic neighborhood. I totally recommend it.

Clean, quiet and convenientPosted Feb 1, 2014
Location: Breakfast can be had locally at reasonable rates - plenty of bakeries and breakfast places.
Stayed 2 nights at end of January. Check in simple and efficient by friendly helpful staff. Rooms on 4th floor were clean and quiet. Walking distance to Barceloneta , Ramblas, Born. Some of the public areas appeared a bit tired (e.g. Lift).

Nice Hotel close to downtown areaPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Hotel is near to everything on the downtown area.
Cons: Just the color of the walls inside the corridors, too dark fucsia with lighter tones that look like stains.
Location: Barcelona Francia train station is at walking distance. You can walk to the shops, historical buildings and restaurants/tapas.
Nice and clean comfortable room, small but enough for the two of us. All ammenities are excellent and good breakfast!

Central & HandyPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: Location. I wanted to be near the ship port and was 5 minute walk, it's also near Las Ramblas also free wifi in room.
Cons: Price of the breakfast was very expensive.
Location: Las Ramblas is walking distance. Allsorts of touristy things to do which info is in hotel area.
Close for walking distance to Las Ramblas & the waterfront/ship port. Irish bar direct across from the front door, don't get the breakfast in hotel as expensive and plenty of nice local cafes near hotel which is cheap. Rooms are nice enough for the price you pay. TV has only 1 English channel (BBC World). If you fancy a night in there is a Take Away place which reception can order for you. Bath tubs are very small.
