Great location. right on La Rambla. safe!Posted Dec 16, 2013
Pros: Everything! The free bottled water, the complementary champagne bottles x2, the WiFi is amazingly fast and reliable. Very safe and amazing staff
Cons: Nothing! I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of H1898
Location: La Rambla is in the heart of the tourist area and a wonderful place to stay near. Hop-on Hop-off bus is near by and a great service. subway also clos
Hotel 1898 is hands down the most amazing hotel I've ever stayed in. The hotel staff is outstanding. It was even one of our birthdays while we were there and they must have noticed the birth date on the reservation or the passport but we came back to a complementary bottle of champagne one night with a personalized card. All are extremely helpful with tourist questions as well as just general courtesy. Water is a hot commodity in Spain and H1898 offers free bottled water in the lobby at all hours as well as in the gym. That alone saved us a lot of euros so thank you for that service! The housekeeping staff are exceptional and nothing is overlooked. The decor is straight out of a Ralph Lauren catalog and is so classy! A few people had written about safety in Barcelona and along hotels in La Rambla. We NEVER felt unsafe and there is always hotel staff in the lobby and at the doors at all hours. I highly recommend this hotel if you are worried about safety along La Rambla. I cannot think of enough good things to say about H1898. I only hope I can visit again someday!

excellent location on the RamblasPosted Dec 13, 2013
Pros: Everything and its just really cool
Cons: the Room Service menu
Location: its close to everything you would want to do in Barcelona, this is about the best location to be located.
Hotel theme is Malaysia, Ceylon, Phillipines, excellent quality, decor very tasteful, rooms comfortable and the location is perfect for shopping the beach and restaurants. Breakfast is a gourmet feast, champagne, and the best ham i have ever tasted. This is voted one of the top 10 hotels to stay in Barcelona

Excellent location, service and comfortPosted Dec 12, 2013
Pros: Facilities, cleanliness of the room, toilets and communal areas
Cons: Reduce the cost of the breakfast buffet.
Location: Perfect position for shopping, access to the tour buses and seeing the street traders.
Hotel is positioned perfectly for access to shops, bars, restaurants and the all important tour bus. You have the choice of outdoor pool on the roof or indoor pool in the basement. The hotel has a good gym with the latest equipment for training. The business centre is free to use and has 2 iMacs and 2 PC's with printers for guests to use. This hotel has the perfect facilities for rest and relaxation whilst allowing business users to work hard and play hard. The evening meals are excellent although breakfast (whilst excellent) is rather expensive at 24 euros per person.

Cost 25Euro to taxi to the hotel. Superb room, ultra clean, comfy king size bed nice balcony. Roof terrace great view but shame bar closed. Pool, sauna and steam room great. Great base on Las Ramblas. Staff very friendly, concierge looked after our bags all day after we checked out. Free tea in foyer in afternoons with cake!.

Pros: Wonderful building and decor was very classy throughout the hotel. Staff extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Hotel was spotlessly clean.
Cons: Not much needs to be improved in my opinion. Cost of breakfast a bit pricey although there was a lot of yummy food on offer set in a beautiful room.
Location: Perfect location to use as a base for exploring Barcelona.
