Ruined my birthdayPosted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: Good location but really no views as in a very built up area
Cons: Everything mentioned above, people book extras for their rooms for a reason, no-one wants to deal with building works at a so called 5 star hotel
I had booked this hotel as a 40th birthday treat to myself, I had booked a Duplex room to give myself and my companion more space for the stay. It was late when I arrived and my friend had already checked in so we had dinner and went to bed. We were woken in the morning, of my birthday, by very loud building works which sounded like they were coming through the walls, I called Reception and was told they would advise them to stop. An hour later it finally stopped, by which point we both had headaches and in very bad moods. We went out for the day and returned in the afternoon, I had asked at Reception if the noise was likely to wake me up again the following day and was told "no". Back in the room the noise was continuing and did so until 6pm, again ruining any quiet time we were planning to have. The room had no view - well of a brick wall but that is not the 'city view' as mentioned, it was not sound proof at all, there were no English TV channels, no newspaper on arrival, no tea or coffee making facitilies. We evetually found out that the room next door to ours was being totally refitted, so flooring, walls, etc were being re-done. No apologies were offered to us, I had even emailed the hotel prior to arrival to let them know it was my birthday and they had acknowledged the email. Room 201 is one to avoid, but to be honest after my recent stay I wished I had saved my money and stayed in a Holiday Inn - The Claris was a total waste of my money.

OveratedPosted Jan 5, 2015
I think the hotel is a bit overrated. Specially the staff lacks politeness and experience handling guests . The check in was not very smooth and they constantly argued about the room we had booked. We had to show our printed bookings to different people all the time.I am not going back to the hotel.

posizione dell'hotel comodaPosted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Il personale è molto carino e disponibile
Cons: la pulizia!!!!
Location: punto strategico. vicino alla pedrera e a casa batlò a 2 passi dalla fermata della metro.
arrivati in camera abbiamo subito notato peli e capelli in bagno.

Nice hotel and good locationPosted Jan 1, 2015
Pros: Location, attention of the staff, comfortable, great restaurant at the top.
Cons: WiFi system was very poor.
Location: Great location with walking distance to the most famous places designed by Anton Gaudi (Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera and Casa Batló). And other famous
Very good choice! We could walk to many of the best attractions and the metro was very close. The staff were very helpful. The WiFi was not really good. In the room the wifi only worked (badly) in the bathroom...

Hotel ClarisPosted Dec 15, 2014
Interior was a bit dated. However, the main problem was the very poor soundproof windows. It sounded like the windows were openened. In a city like Barcelona it results in quite a bit of noice, where you expect to have a quiet, comfortable nigth.

Excellent modern hotel with a great staffPosted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: Modern, spacious room. Good temperature control.
Cons: Being off season, the restaurants in the hotel itself were limited but there were plenty near by. Addition treadmill would be useful.
I was on business but my wife came along for some vacation time. We both loved the hotel and their friendly staff. The location was based on my business meetings but many good restaurants and shopping were nearby. I am going back to Barcelona on business in the spring and will look into staying at the Claris again.

Our second stay, and still enjoyingPosted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Everything and enough to go there for another stay
The hotel is very well located (walking distance from all major attractions), rooms are well decorated and you don't necessary have the feeling you're at the hotel (and bed is really comfortable), the roof top terrasse is great with restaurant and bar (+ outdoor swimming pool). Cost vs service and hotel is very good and we recommend this hotel (it was our second stay there).

Amazing location, Great StaffPosted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Location, Staff and Cleanliness
Location: Amazing restaurants, Great shopping places, many city monuments, La Rambla etc...
Amazing location near almost everything, far enough from the noise and close enough to everything. Very friendly staff who were always helpful whenever we needed anything. Clean room, beautiful Terrace, Good food. There were a couple days where construction was happening and the noise was a bit annoying.

Nice hotel our room was quiet smallPosted Oct 25, 2014
Hotel was nice , pool small, our room was small, hotel drinks and meals were very expensive, don't touch the breakfast €23 each per day for 2 cold sausages 2 slice of bacon and scrambled eggs!! All cold, only had breakfast the once, plenty other places to eat at more reasonable prices if your willing to walk a little!!
