“Great location”

The Hotel Colon Barcelona was exactly what we were looking for! Great location, authentic, excellent service. Rooms have balconies over looking historic square and cathedral. Last stop after a mediteranean cruise. Quick taxi ride from piers. Steps away from outdoor cafes and restaurants. A couple blocks from La Rambla. Front desk very helpful concerning touring the city. Would stay there again.

“Great location, great service”

Cozy rooms, cheerful and comfortable lobby, excellent breakfast (extra, but can make part of the deal), comfortable bar. Friendly, helpful service. Location is great. I would go back to this hotel in a New York minute! Single room both cheerful, bright, and larger than singles usually are. Highly recommend.

“Would stay again”

This hotel was in the middle of the Gothic district. Great location to explore from, places to eat a few steps from front of hotel entrance. Rooms are extremely nice and service was good. They are a busy place but take time to see to your needs. Early check-in was not possible this visit but we've heard they will do that, if possible. We would stay there again if visiting Barcelona.

“Excellent Location”

Stayed 3 days prior to a cruise and the location was excellent.Right across from the catheral. The restaurant is expensive but a nice treat for one night. Service in the restaurant was above excellent and the food was at a 5* level. The hotel is getting a little run down (carpets are worn on the stairs), but the room was extremely comfortable. Strongly suggest that you use the safe in the room and use locks on your suitcases. To get to and from La Ramblas, it can be a bit tricky, especially at night. Eating down at the wharf was amazing (across from the casino). Food, service and price was excellent down there. It would be approx 20 - 30 min walk - taxi is less than 10 euro. If you want a double room, don't forget to request a double bed, otherwise you will probably get two twins. Will stay again because of the location - price is a bit steep but you are paying for the location. After eating at the hotel restaurant, got a table outside and while I kept an eye on my bag, the doorman from the hotel came over and told me to put it down by my leg or bring it closer to me because the kids are very shifty and you don't know you are getting robbed until after the fact - they have it down to a science! I thought that was very nice of him to bring it to my attention and to look out for me. Be careful with early arrivals - my room was ready but there were numerous others waiting for their room! The reception pers do speak a little English but the night pers can be somewhat rude.
