Excellent location for old town sights and Rambla.Posted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: The location and price. The hotel was good value for Barcelona which tends to be overpriced.
Cons: An electric kettle in the room for making early morning tea would be nice but is not the norm in Spain.
Location: Excellent location for walking to old town sights and eating out in the evening. Close to metro for Gaudi sights.
We booked the hotel for its location for a short break (4 days) in Barcelona at the end of October.. The trip was a great success, helped by unseasonally warm weather: day temperatures up to 28C, with crowds sunning on the Barcelona beach. The hotel was basic but quite sufficient for us. Clean rooms with OK bath and shower, comfortable beds and TV. Ask for rooms at the back if you want peace and quiet. Rooms at the front are disturbed by late drinkers and early morning raising of metal shutters and shop deliveries. Don't book breakfast in advance. There are good croisants, coffee, hot chocolate and freshly squeezed orange juice to be bought and consumed on the ground floor. A full English is available at the bar next door.

Comfortable Budget Hotel with minimal facilitiesPosted Oct 24, 2013
Cons: Tea making and optional breakfast facilities would have made a diference.
Location: sea front 5 - 10 min walk. Ramblas 1 min. Metro 1 m, Gothic quarter 5 min. P du Catalunya 5 - 10 min. Bus to airport and city tours leave from there.
Tea making and optional breakfast facilities would have made a diference. But if you want a low cost hotel near the Ramblas this is it. Metro is very close, and there are cafes resturants galore. The gothic quarter and Market are both short walks. Bus to airport is about 5 minutes walk to Pl Catalunya. Only drawback is that ( while the hotel is quiet) the street is very noisy most of the night. A light sleeper might need earplugs.

You get what you pay.Posted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: Location, low cost.
Cons: Update windows and doors and carpet the floors to reduce noise, update bathroom fixtures, clean the floors.
Location: Walking distance to underground lot of resturants and bars also close to the sea walk good walking or running in the morning.
I stayed at this hotel for few days it is in the old section of the city close to everything very basic nothing to brag about not expencive very noisy place bathroom with rusty fixtures light was not working floors not clean, 12" screen TV (don't care about TV) you get what you pay for, good for low budget travellers.

Stay elsewhere.Posted Oct 12, 2013
The room itself was fine. Clean. The shower was very loud and couldn't get it to work at first. The biggest issue was the room smelled like smoke and was dry an stuffy. The ac did not work at all so we either overheated while sleeping or had to leave the door open that opens onto a very busy street. So we got NO sleep since we had to listen to street cleaning, garbage pickup, loud bar patrons and the room was still too hot! We checked out and stayed elsewhere for the rest of our stay. And the front desk was extremely unhelpful with directions or anything else you might need. For the price I would stay somewhere else.

Lovely Hotel, in an Excellent Central LocationPosted Sep 11, 2013
Found the hotel with little difficulty due to it being just off the main street of La Rambla and near to the metro station. It is based on a busy street but at night it was easy enough to get to sleep even with the window open. The hotel room was tidy, cleaned daily and comfortable with all the basic necessities. The location was fantastic and everything was easily walkable or a short trip via the metro. The staff were all friendly and helpful. For the price, location and rooms I would highly recommend it.

Great location for sightseeing and local food.Posted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: Location is perfect for walking to major sights in La Rambla and the Gotic areas. Also close to the Metro, market, and street vendors.
Cons: If I could change anything, it would be the elevator. It's very small and so does not stop if it's already in route or been called by another guest.
Location: The Cathedral is a short walk. The main tourist street is close. Ends near the harbor with a giant statue of Columbus. "Living Statues" for photos.
We enjoyed the spartan quality of the room. Decor was adequate and not distracting. We had a light bulb out and housekeeping changed it pronto. Upon check-in we were given a tourist map and directions to several major sights. If I could change anything, it would be the elevator. It's very small and so does not stop if it's already in route or been called by another guest. Took us much longer to leave the hotel than the time we allotted. We only stayed one night, so it would not be reasonable to comment further.

We loved it!Posted Aug 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel Condal is right in the heart of Barcelona. It is perfect for a two star hotel - it is clean, the sheets are cottony-crisp, the staff is pleasant, the breakfast good and cheap, the furniture in the room is fine. I am allergic to dust and tend to react in most hotels but not in this one. I really have no complaints and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good value hotel in Barcelona.
