“Best of Barcelona”
We had chosen this hotel just from seeing the photos of it on Expedia and it's location realative to the Sagrada Familia and Casa Mila. We had one day at the end of a cruise and didn't want to waste time. It was perfect! We arrived early and would not have our rooms ready until 1:00 so they graciously held our bags for us and we were off for the morning. Casa Mila is one block up and can be seen from the roof top. We walked to the Sagrada after that had lunch and came back to the hotel. Let me say that it is a beautiful hotel. Charming and old on the outside and beautiful and modern in the inside. We went up to our rooms on the 5th floor and they were just as they were pictured but more beautiful in person. We had terrace that overlooked the courtyard that was lovely. The bedding was great. Of course the television only had spanish speaking channels (although they had movies that I'm sure were in English) The bathrooms were fantastic too. Had a hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers. It wowed all of us! Later in the evening we walked to Las Ramblas and had dinner. There is great shopping across the street from the hotel. In short...perfect place to stay! Oh yes, there is a pool and it's even smaller than what is shown in the picture but it didn't matter. Definately recommend.
“an oasis in the city”
Extremely comfortable room, friendly service
“Great Hotel in a great location!”
This hotel was very clean, had what we thought were larger rooms than you usually get in Europe, and had a staff that was very helpful, polite, and spoke good English. Their location is near a Metro stop which easily took us to Ramblas and back when we had had enough noise and excitement. We will stay in this hotel again.
“Loved every minute of my stay there.”
The location of the hotel couldn't be better. It is convenient to many attractions and good restaurants, yet not noisy or touristy. Really enjoyed the roof top setting, where there is a bar that's open until 1 am for cocktails. It is so pretty and the view is lovely. The room was lovely with all the finer amenities, including terry cloth robes and Bulgari toiletries. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.
“Great hotel”
It can't get any better than this. Great location, the most gorgeous rooms and quality service to match.
“Great Location, nice place to stay”
The Hotel Condes has a great location to jump on the Metro (either at Passieg de Gracia or at Diagonal station)and get quickly anywhere in the city. The room was large by European standards, and the beds were very comfortable. Service was efficient and polite, though not overly friendly. The hotel was very busy with business guests and conferences. The neighborhood is upscale and busy - great for walking and having a late dinner at the local tapas bars.
“Enjoyed our stay immensely”
Hotel Condes is gorgeous. I loved everything about our room -- from the sleek modern decor to the wrought iron gargoyle railing on our small balcony. We were fortunate to stay in the main hotel building, which is by far the most attractive and most convenient of the two. The location was great! The surrounding area is a beautiful mix of upscale modern and older-style buildings, and the Hotel Condes was a convenient home base from which to venture out to see all the wonderful attractions the city has to offer. The fitness center on the roof was adequate but not wonderful. I couldn't get the treadmill to work, but that wasn't a real big deal when I factored in all the walking we did. The sauna was an unexpected pleasure. The rooftop pool/jacuzzi was a bit of a disappointment. If only the water had been hot and the jets had worked! We visited the restaurant only for the buffet breakfast. The buffet was excellent although a bit pricey for the offerings. The staff was great! Would I recommend the Hotel Condes to other travellers? Definitely, yes! Would I stay there again if I had the good fortune to return to Barcelona? Maybe. If we found a hotel of the caliber of the Condes in the same district with a working jacuzzi and a free buffet breakfast, the Hotel Condes would be second choice.
“Excellent location!”
Nice service, clean room, friendly staff, escellent location on Passeig Da Gracia near La Pedrera, nice restaurants and good shoping, also near one of the tusristic bus stops.
“Would love to go back tomorrow!!”
This hotel was wonderful! The hotel was spotless and inviting, and the staff was extremely friendly. The two rooftop pools as well as the rooftop bar with a view of La Pedrera and Sagrada Familia were an added bonus. The location is perfect for sightseeing in Barcelona or hopping on public transportation to visit neighboring areas. We stayed on the renovated side of the hotel, and it was definitely worth the additional cost. We would love to go back!
“It's like staying on the Champs-Elysee in Paris...”
The Hotel Condes de Barcelona is a wonderful boutique hotel that is conveniently located on the beautiful main street of Passeig de Gracia. There are numerous sights in the area including the Casa Mila (practically across the street), shopping along La Rambla is walking distance as is the historic Temple de Sagrada Familia. Barcelona is not to be missed! If you haven't been, you must visit. The city is similar to NYC in that it's a grid, so it's easy to navigate.
