Excellent - location, quality, value for moneyPosted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Location. High quality finishes. The bar and terrace on the roof. Excellent sleep quality.
Location: Fantastic location just off Las Ramblas. The nearest metro stop (Liceu) is less than a 1 minute walk away. Pl.Reial is only 3 mins walk away
We spent four nights at the Espana in July 2014. Our experience was excellent. The hotel was quite unique in it's layout and it had some fantastic features and fixtures. We did not hear a sound from other guests. The air conditioning was really quiet and very effective. Our only negative comment was the view from our window, which was basically a concrete wall four feet away but that didn't really matter for a city break.

Beautiful hotel -- too close to Rambla!Posted Jul 15, 2014
Beautiful hotel but just a block off that chaotic scene the Rambla. The lobby area is gorgeous; our room was smallish but very nice, and the staff folks were friendly and very helpful. Loved the rooftop bar! So, for those into the Rambla, this is a great choice; if not, maybe check another area?

This was a wonderful choice:) staff was brilliant walked us to our room, explained the hotel and it's sorroundings. Location was 10 feet from Las Ramblas and 15 min from the beach walking. Hotel was clean, rooftop patio was beautiful:) highly reccomended-we will return! Great bathroom and room sizes too!

Close to La RamblasPosted Jul 10, 2014
The first deluxe room we were offered was so dark that I queried the fact that it could possibly be a deluxe room. The only window was down a little corridor and opened up onto a very small open square. As we were on the 1st floor no light came down this shaft. We complained and another room was offered which was much better, but still fairly dark as you had to keep the brown net curtains closed as the alley the hotel was in meant that the people on the opposite side could look straight into our room.

A beautifully presented hotel full of history and interesting stories. Room was immaculate and very well presented in a modern style. Staff were incredibly friendly and willing to help. Don't forget the gorgeous roof terrace bar and pool!

Fantastic location just off Les Ramblas, even though it's so central we found it very quiet And relaxing. Best bit, the terrace bar an pool, great place to relax after site seeing and the staff are very attentive.

Stylish hotel well situatedPosted Jun 16, 2014
Location: Just off Las Ramblas, within a network of lanes where you can find a multitude of places to each, Tapas is definitely the order of the day.
stunning hotel, placed just off the busy las ramblas, hotel staff were very helpful and the roof terrace bar although expensive is a lovely place to start your evening.

Lovely Hotel with an Amazing locationPosted May 23, 2014
Pros: The Staff, Very helpful and friendly and the location was great.
Cons: More room by the pool.... There wasnt a lot of sun beds available.
Location: Great location, walking distance (1 min) from all the shops and resturants. My partner and I found a great resturant called "Walk to Wok" 2 mins walk.
Being our second time in Barcelona, My partner and I stayed at the Espana Hotel in May 2014 and found the staff to be very helpful throughout our stay. This was especially the case when they assisted with the recieving of our bags as the airline we flew with left our bags in Portugal. The hotel is in a great location, right in the centre of La Ramblas (main strip) but just enough off on a side street to be quiet and peaceful. The pool area is small but relaxing and has a Jacuzzi as well as a small pool, some sun beds and a bar (all the things you want in a pool area when you are on holiday). The resturant downstairs (Fonda) was great, a little hard to get a reservation, but amazing food and well serviced. Room was tidy and modern, just what you want out of a hotel room. I believe it was well worth the money we spent. Overall, was a great stay at the Hotel Espana. I would definetly stay here again and recommend to my friends.
