“Great place to stay in Barcelona”
Hotel Fira Palace exceeded my expectations. Clean, comfortable, spacious, great amenities. A bit of a walk to the underground train station but otherwise, extremely satisfied.
“would return back to this hotel on my next visit to Barcelona”
Hotel is well located close to Plaz de Spagnia
“Pretty nice stay”
My husband and I stayed three nights. Room was quite large but sadly not enough drawers for clothing. Internet only available in lobby the two desks not used. TV was only in Spanish language no English channels. Bed & pillows extremely hard. Towels great but they only provided one wash cloth for two people, with liquid soap. First shower in tub but no shower curtain so water on the floor, second shower had also side shower heads but when all three heads were on shower stall did not drain so took a bath with my shower, gross. Loved the toiletries will order more online this week they were so good. Very noisey, even with second interior door it sounded like they were open. Window was closed but heard a drunk yelling at three in the morning. Highly suggest you wear ear plugs if using this hotel. Pool was great but small so crowded. Towels must be gotten from upstairs gym nothing on any ads state you need to do this so we ended up toweless and dripping to our room. Local eateries were sadly lacking mostly sold sandwiches. Many small groceries to buy milk or snacks. Small fridge was great for milk and yougart but they reclamp it daily checking the minibar. Front desk staff was friendly but not overly helpful such as giving instructions about pool and towels. When asked about eateries they just offered their resturant high prices and foo foo foods. Hotel store lady was very attentive. Why then the high marks? This is Europe not America, just wanted to make people aware.
“OK but not excellent”
The hotels general condition is OK but there are several situations which need to be revised by the staffs. First of all there only coule of TV channels availble to see on the TV. More other important ones needs to be add to the list. The room was not good most probably due to insufficient air circulationtaxi. The taxi drivers situated on the front of the hotel are 'Bustlers' They chage you double price without any explanation. Does speak or understand any single word of English. So you must know spanish if you take that one of taxis!!!!. Other wise the hotel seems pretty modern but is not an excellent one
“good hotel,excellent location”
Good Hotel, nice and in a very accesible area. Felt secure going out any time, even at night. Close to Plaza Espanya metro station.
“I would not stay there again”
The hotel has old world charm with mdern facilities. However, if you are a foreigner....the hotel staff is not very guest friendly...they pretend not to understand you. Example, I asked the concierge to dial an 800 number for me because I was having trouble getting through...he dialed and got through...then hung up and said "Yes, I got through, but you must do this from your room" at this point I had already checked out...very rude.
“It really was a 4 star hotel!”
First of all, the quality of hotel was outstanding. The room was one of the biggest hotel rooms I've ever seen (It's more like an apartment than a hotel suite) Hotel staff members were good but not great. One of the assistant manager named Jose was great though. Only complain I had was that the metro is in about 10 minute walk distance. The area itself is not dangerous at all so you don't have to worry about it. (Police is checking the place out every 5 minute) There is a new american styled mall (Bull Ring) right in front of the metro station (PL. Espanya) so please don't be miss it. Good restaurants are in there. Overall, you will not regret staying in this hotel.
“LOVE THIS HOTEL!”
I read other reviews on this hotel and decided to stay here during my stay in Barcelona just before and just after a cruise. It was a GREAT decision! The staff is so friendly (and they all speak English, thank goodness!) the rooms are clean and neat. After our cruise, we came back to the hotel early and the only room available was a smoking room. As non-smokers, we knew immediately that we couldn't stay there. No problem -- they upgraded us to a suite with a balcony with no increase in the rate. The hotel is on a quiet street but still only a 5-minute walk to a very-convenient metro station and shopping mall. The Aerobus from the airport to the Placa d'Espanya (the closest bus stop and also metro stop) was 10.60 Euros for the two of us. A taxi to the ship was only 15 Euros, so that was easy, too. The food in the hotel -- and especially room service -- is pricey, so better to eat at the million-and-one tapas places all over the city (the Ramblas is only a few metro stops away. Go to the Boqueria market and on the left outside of the market indulge in a huge seafood platter for two for only 39 Euros! So amazing people were taking pictures of our food! BTW, it was so big we couldn't eat it all!) Indoor pool, workout room and WiFi -- this place has it all at a great price. If you're like us and you want a bargain price for a great, nice hotel, this is the one! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
“Everything we expected and more”
I liked the Piano Bar. Excellent service within that bar. The hotel staff were very pleasant. A taxi could always be found outside. It was clean and comfortable and in a safe and convenient area. The pool and change rooms and gym could've been a little more exciting. Those areas were a little dull, but we were not going there for a gym and pool anyways so we can't complain.
“Good address in Barcelona”
The Hotel Fira Palace in Barcelona is convenienty located near Plaza de Espana where you can find the 'Magic Fountain', commence a tour on the tourist bus through Barcelona or go shopping, eating or to the movies. The hotel has a nice gym and indoor swimming pool. While it does not have any laundry facilities on site (only the hotel's laundry service is available), a public laundry is approximately a ten minute walk away. The hotel is reasonably priced for a city hotel and I would recommend it without any hesitation.
