Perfect location!

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: Central location.
Cons: Depends on how picky you are. It's not new.
Location: La Rambla, subway, bike rentals, lots of food, the gothic area, shopping, you name it.
This was right in the center of the city. The view of Placa de Catalunya was outside our balcony, if it wasn't for the temporary renovation going on that blocked that view. La Rambla was at our front door. Rental bikes were a block away and more types of food than you can imagine were steps away. The subway connection to the Sagrada Familia was a short walk away. Hard Rock Cafe was across the street and the Gothic area full of historical churches was just around the corner. I don't know how you could pick a better location. When we were there in June, the front facade was completely covered up, as they were working on the exterior. The views from the balcony were non-existent as a result, but since we were so busy exploring the city, who had time to complain about the balcony view? Office staff were super nice and friendly. Their English was good enough for most people.

good location is the only positive.

Posted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: maintenance
good location is the only positive . rooms in poor state of repair... toilet plumbing made constant water noise. could only turn off lights by turning off main fuse switch rather than proper switches. air con didnt make cold air. no window to outside ...only to covered inner chamber which stank. web site picture allow you to believe you have a room with a view ...you wont! no english speaking tv channels. very slow broadband speeds not suitable for streaming which got worse very late at night for some reason. breakfast was just about acceptable. Had a great time in a great city. will go back but wont stay here again if you paid me.

Centrally located, poor hotel

Posted Nov 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
I knew it was not going to be a 5 star hotel but I chose it because of its location. It's difficult to find the hotel, the reception shares the hall with a shop. It's more like a corridor really. I walked into my room and it was very small, dated and the air conditioning unit was leaking all over the floor and on top of the TV. Don't bother with that hotel, there are much better at the same price. I doubt very much I will be staying there again.

Great Location

Posted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Add AC or provide a fan.
Location: Great location.
Just needed a place in the city center for one night and this filled the bill. Room was okay but lacked A/C which would have helped on a stuffy night. Staff was great, room was clean, TV worked fine, has WIFI - all plusses. Tiny slow elevator but worked okay.

Close to all sight seeing and buses

US people receive a free continental breakfast with their hotel stays. I think the front desk should have told us about the breakfast on the 3rd floor and the price. The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. My compliments to them.

Excellent location, constant noise in the hotel

Posted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: excellent location, very nice staff, nice breakfast, great price
Cons: soundproofness of the windows
Location: 10 steps of La ramblas
The hotel is located 10 steps (literally, I counted!) away from La Ramblas which is perfect, central location. However, the constant noise coming out from outside (as if there was a 24h factory producing something ) kept me awake most of the nights which didn't make this hotel a good choice for a business trip. If you are planning to party all night and want just somewhere to put your head on a pillow you probably won't mind this place but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it if you are a light sleeper.

Fantastic location, basic but comfortable

Posted Aug 19, 2013
Pros: Location, full bath tub
Cons: Slightly drab and tired decor but didn't spend much time in room
Friendly and helpful staff with excellent English language skills. Fantastic location. Right on the doorstep of central Barcelona. Literally! Basic but comfortable hotel. No fridge or hot drink making facilities but air conditioning and no street noise in my room. Use of the room safe is €3/day. Hair dryers are borrowed from reception and no ironing facilities. Soap, shower gel and comb provided in room. I didn't take breakfast option because hotel is so near other eateries. One day, I was left with no towels but the reception staff sorted it out with 5min. Located right on the main square where bus to airport stops. €6 and 30min trip. I would have no hesitation in staying here again. It's just SO convenient.
