“Would Definitely Stay Here Again”
My suggestions: Take the areobus from airport to Placa de Cataluyna for 5Euros and take a cab from there to hotel. I did an on and off city tour to get a layout of the city and where I might want to go back again. Trains are 2 blocks from hotel. I'd def recommend a trip or 2 to the Olympic Port/Village. Take the L5 one stop to yellow line to Olympic Village. If you are into mountains/Cathedrals I would recommend the day trip to Montserrat and Sitges. Once you get to know the trains, you won't have to use those expensive taxis. The one thing I did notice, if you are a solo traveler, you don't get treated the same in some better restaurants. You can actually be ignored. I found the city beautiful and very clean.
“Best Value in Barcelona”
Rated on Expedia and by the tourism comm. in Spain as a 3-star, but easily could compete as a 4-star. Nice euro decor, comfortable clean rooms, quiet area of BCN near Sagrada Familia and the Metro stop there, so convenient to everything. A 25 min walk (one way) to the main tourist area or an easy Metro ride. But being away from the tourist area means that you are out of the noise, and high prices/poor service that afflicts most main tourist areas (including BCN). Its location on the Blue Line means only one connection to get to/from the airport. Take the Renfre train from the airport and transfer to the blue line at the main station, and exit at the Sagrada Familia stop. Hotel is an easy 10 min walk about 2-1/2 blocks away.
“Short stay in Barcelona. Useful info.”
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel for 4 days in march. It's situated in two quarters from great Gauidi's Sagrada la Familia, near the same metro station. We enjoyed walking a lot in Barselona, the hotel is a bit far from old city, but is OK. It's only half hour by walk to reach the main attractions e.g. Rambla, Passage de Gracia etc. By metro i think it would be minutes away. The trip from airport by taxi take us about 30 min. and the trip back to airport by metro take us about 45 min in total. There's a bit of restaruants and tapas bars around the hotel. The very best of all of them was seafood restaruant with selfservice - La Paradeta.
“Good standard and decent value”
Good sized rooms with all required amenities, including the in-room safe highly recommended for Barcelona. Powerful AC unit located properly (I.e.not blowing into your bed) and not too noisy. Very clean room and good housekeeping. Location is convenient for Sagrada Familia, and a bit out for any other sights, which is actually good. The surrounding streets aren't overcrowded, plenty of restaurants next door with decent pricing, multiple grocery stores etc. Metro intersection station is within a 3-min walk so connection to other parts of town is fine.
“Avoid the lines at Sagrada Familia”
The hotel was nicely furnished. It was small, yet modern and the rooms were clean and reasonably sized. The location was very convenient as it was only 3 blocks away from Sagrada Familia (and the subway station). Hence, you have a good chance of avoiding the lines at Sagrada Familia and get there earlier than others. The hotel though is a bit far from the city center (Las Ramblas and Plaza de Catalunya), but you can get there with one stop on the subway. The personnel were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a good value for the money.
“So you want to see Sagrada Familia”
We recently stayed at the Hotel Familia to see the Gaudi church. The hotel is convienently located to the sites with access to the subway. The staff was friendly and curteous and very helpful.
“nice place to stay”
great hotel , a bit far from the real downtown area , but just next to the sagrada church and subway station , very easy to move around only complain wifi was not stable
“Nice place in a great city”
The Hotel Sagrada Familia is pretty basic but we have few complaints about it, bar the beds being a little uncomfortable. Our room was clean, there's internet access, and there's a nice little roof area to enjoy. It's also in a great location with the nearest Metro stop less than a 10 minute walk away. The neighbourhood is relatively quiet and very un-touristy so makes for a relief from the more hectic areas of the city (i.e. around La Ramblas etc). We didn't use many of the hotel's amenities so can't comment on the food or leisure facilities and we really just used the hotel as a hostel, leaving in the morning and returning late in the evening to sleep. if you need a decent and reasonably priced base from which to explore the wonderful city of Barcelona, then this is your place.
“I would stay there again”
I was very pleased with my stay at the Segrata Familia Hotel. Though the room was very small, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice large shower. The front desk staff was very helpful, though some didn't speak much English. The breakfast dining room was nice and the food was adequate.
