Three nights in Barcelona

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Bargain price and convenience. To Sans station. Only 4euro taxi fare.
Location: There's a couple of cheap eats nearby and even a pizza delivery store.
Our hotel was a short walk for the Metro and the Turistica bus at the Sants train station. Buffet breakfast was fulfilling for the most hungry. Staff very helpful and assisted in tour bookings. Our room was a standard double but we were very comfortable. We used the mini bar to stash our own supplies. This wasn't a very cold fridge. Having a bath was just great.

Barcelona

Pros: location
Cons: more lighting and noise reduction
The room was too small and the wall was too thin that we could hear everything from the rooms next door and above our room. Also we could hear the noise from the street. The bedroom needs to be updated. However, the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Modern clean lovely staff and delicious breakfast!

Posted May 16, 2014
Nice classic modern style rooms, quiet hotel, close (15 min walk) to centre - La Rambla. Metro 2 mins away. Helpful staff. Delicious breakfast variety - recommend to include in room rate! Supermarket across the road. We had a very generous sized double room (wheelchair friendly I think) with a spacious entry and bathroom, a desk, arm chair, fridge... only gripes - the room was 2 single beds pushed together and it was very dark as not street facing. But, staff were very accommodating when we requested a swap - to a much smaller, but lovely bright double bed room. Great hotel! TIP: Buy tickets in advance for tourist sights!! Especially at busy periods e.g. Easter!

Excellent quality and good value for money

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Good location. Spotlessly clean.
Location: Less than 5 minutes from the metro (then 15 minutes to Catalunya). Surrounding area ordinary, but pleasant and safe.
The NH Numancia has been recently refurbished to very good standard. Although a little out of the city centre, it is very convenient for Sants rail station (and the airport), with the metro less than five minutes' walk away. Breakfast was excellent, and included in the price - very good value for money.

Hotel conveniently close to local transportation.

Pros: Location and the availability of a bathtub at a reasonable rate.
Cons: Better TV and wi-fi Internet service...also better food choices in the hotel restaurant as there are a lack of good restaurants in the nearby area.
Location: It is in the Les Courts district of Barcelona...within easy walking distance to the Barcelona Metro and European train system.
The hotel is located several blocks away from Barcelona's main train station (which happens to have a metro station)...but has a taxicab stand in front of the building for convenience. The lobby is nice and the staff is pleasant...although you are likely to have to ask your questions to them several times slowly as their English proficiency may not be what you would expect. The rooms are nice but not quite soundproof...often hearing doors banging in the hallway, people on the floor above dragging furniture, and loud talking. However, we were able to get a room with a bathtub at a cost slightly above that for a shower...which is nice for folks who want to soak in the tub after being outdoors. Choices for TV is rather limited for English-speakers to CNBC (Finance/News), Bloomburg (Finance/News), BBC World News, RT (Russian Times) and CCTV (Chinese Broadcasting)...so, don't expect any English-based television shows. Housekeeping is excellent coming in daily when you are not there. As to the hotel restaurant, they do not change the menu and service is a bit on the slow side as they mainly do room service throughout the evening...and the prices are steep. Wi-fi is free...but it is a bit on the slow side and limits you to 150 mB per day (although you can pay for premium services which increases the speed and increases the amount of data you can have per day).
