Excellent quality and good value for moneyPosted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Good location. Spotlessly clean.
Location: Less than 5 minutes from the metro (then 15 minutes to Catalunya). Surrounding area ordinary, but pleasant and safe.
The NH Numancia has been recently refurbished to very good standard. Although a little out of the city centre, it is very convenient for Sants rail station (and the airport), with the metro less than five minutes' walk away. Breakfast was excellent, and included in the price - very good value for money.

Hotel conveniently close to local transportation.Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: Location and the availability of a bathtub at a reasonable rate.
Cons: Better TV and wi-fi Internet service...also better food choices in the hotel restaurant as there are a lack of good restaurants in the nearby area.
Location: It is in the Les Courts district of Barcelona...within easy walking distance to the Barcelona Metro and European train system.
The hotel is located several blocks away from Barcelona's main train station (which happens to have a metro station)...but has a taxicab stand in front of the building for convenience. The lobby is nice and the staff is pleasant...although you are likely to have to ask your questions to them several times slowly as their English proficiency may not be what you would expect. The rooms are nice but not quite soundproof...often hearing doors banging in the hallway, people on the floor above dragging furniture, and loud talking. However, we were able to get a room with a bathtub at a cost slightly above that for a shower...which is nice for folks who want to soak in the tub after being outdoors. Choices for TV is rather limited for English-speakers to CNBC (Finance/News), Bloomburg (Finance/News), BBC World News, RT (Russian Times) and CCTV (Chinese Broadcasting)...so, don't expect any English-based television shows. Housekeeping is excellent coming in daily when you are not there. As to the hotel restaurant, they do not change the menu and service is a bit on the slow side as they mainly do room service throughout the evening...and the prices are steep. Wi-fi is free...but it is a bit on the slow side and limits you to 150 mB per day (although you can pay for premium services which increases the speed and increases the amount of data you can have per day).

Lovely hotel, good breakfast.Posted Mar 19, 2014
This is our second stay at the Numancia as we do like this hotel. It is a little far from Placa Catalunya when walking, but easily achievable if you like seeing a more local side to the city, Espanya is just down the road though (about ten minutes walk) with the bullring shopping centre and the amazing light fountain show. Good transport lines as Barcelo Sants (train station) is near and underground/buses to everywhere! This hotel is nicely done and has a good selection at breakfast. The staff are friendly and were always smiling and helpful.

A very good hotelPosted May 22, 2013
Pros: Quality serviceand comfortable room
Cons: Wifi difficult to use and slow
Location: off tourist trail but very close to metro and train stations and taxis are cheap
The staff were very efficient, one day we left our room at 6PM and when we returned, we were surprised to see that the turn down service had been done... excellent house keeping. The breakfast was expensive but very good, with a great choice of fruit juices, Spanish hams and cheeses, sweets and fruits - definitely worth trying. Although slightly off the tourist trail, it was very close to a well connected metro station and large train station and taxis are very cheap after the metro closes. The room was a good size and comfortable. A very enjoyable stay and we would certainly recommend the hotel to friends, our only complaint being that the wifi was difficult to use and extremely slow.
