everything was great but the breakfast was not, I wish we did not prepay for this, it was too expensive for what we got, especially no fresh orange juice and watery coffee.

Location, location, locationPosted Jun 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
Couldn't be better located. Two blocks from Catalunya Plaza and the Metro, but far enough from the tacky Rambla. The only downside is the penny pinching; an Euro here for the safety box per day, another there for an hour of wifi, and so on. Just charge a few bucks more per night!

Good, comfortable hotel in centre of cityPosted May 31, 2014
Pros: The position close to centre of Barcelona. An old hotel with character. A modern, well designed bathroom with lots of shelf space.
Location: Close to Placa Catalunya, buses, Metro. We could walk to the Cathedral, through the beautiful Gothic Quarter . La Rambla was at the end of the street.
Enjoyed our stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good position, close to Placa Catalunya, Metro station, buses, La Rambla and beautiful Gothic Quarter. Our room was basic but clean and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. It was all we needed.

Great locationPosted May 30, 2014
This was a relatively simple room, but the location was great. It's just a shame they charge for wifi.

Flooding with complimentsPosted May 27, 2014
Pros: It was in the middle of Las Ramblas and there were a lot of places to shop and eat.
Cons: Improve the staff at the hotel. The females weren't as friendly as the males. Plus they gave us bad directions on a couple of occasions.
Location: There was a club up and across from the hotel that had entertainment in the evening....not every evening, but at least on one occasion we saw a line
Our bathroom was flooded from the upstairs room. Not sure if something needed to be repaired, if the previous guests left on the faucet, or the tub overflowed. Didn't want to risk staying and the drop ceiling falling later. We opted to move to another room and requested to be compensated for our inconvenience. Our options were free wi-fi or free breakfast. It was asked by the person in the lobby, "why do americans always want something free?". It was an inconvenience and it was the hotel's responsibility to let us know or at least check out the room before it was given to another guest. Also, there were no irons in the rooms to press your clothes. Some time ago a guest almost burned the room because the iron wasn't shut off or unplugged. To press or launder your clothes was from 1-9Euros per piece (i.e Handkerchief 1Euro, skirt/pants 7Euros).
