“Fantastic location”

1st time in Barcelona and selected this hotel from a bit of research, reading previous reviews etc. Really pleased I selected Ohla. Fantastic location within a few minutes easy walking distance of Plaza Catalunya and other "must see" locations in this area of the City. Excellent service from all the staff I met. Room didn't have the best view but this didn't really matter to me. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Rooftop pool area was great & not busy during my visit. Only criticism, I couldn't work out how to plug the sink, so that water stayed in the basin!! Great time, would return to the Ohla again.

“The height of luxury”

We booked this hotel, upgrading to a deluxe room on the 5th floor, as a treat at the end of our summer holiday in Barcelona and the south of France. It is beautiful! The room was the perfect temperature, the bed was heaven to sleep in and the shower, situated in the middle of the room encased in a glass enclosure with a rainshower head, was the height of luxury. Our only struggle was finding the toilet, which was hidden behind a panel. The wi fi was free and was of a very good quality, with a very fast connection; unlike other hotels we have stayed in. The lighting arrangement had also been really well thought out. We could have lived in that room forever! As if that wasn't enough, the roof terrace was gorgeous; with views out over Barcelona on three sides: to Montjuic and out to sea. It has a fabulous little swimming pool with glass sides (and a pefect temperature), comfy sofas and a little bar. The facilities and amenities are pretty expensive but then its a 5* hotel so the expectation is that you can easily afford it. We would have liked to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room but you had to pay around 15 euros for it from reception. The hotel is very well situated a couple of steps from a metro station and a short walk from La Rambla, the Barri Gotic and the sea. The service we received from everyone at the hotel, from the check-in lady to the cleaners, was impeccable. I really cannot fault this hotel. Highly recommended!

“Absolutely wonderful!”

The hotel is stylish, in a fantastic location and the staff were incredibly helpful. We enjoyed great tapas in one bar, beautifully made cocktails in another and relaxing drinks on the rooftop, next to the pool day and night. And they gave us a bottle of cava to celebrate our wedding anniversary. As for Barcelona, the place was buzzing as we arrived on the evening the football team won the football league. Absolutely wonderful!

“Outstanding hotel in a fantastic location”

Concierge staff were very helpful with recommending and booking restaurants. Pool bar staff were patient, attentive and friendly. This hotel is in an excellent location - close to the Metro, short walk to the Port area, Barri Gotic, The Catedral, Parc Ciutadella etc, I would highly recommend this hotel.

“Fantastic Hotel and staff and in a brilliant location !”

What a great hotel. The Hotel is situated within easy walking distance of the 'Gothic Quarter', 10 minutes from the start of 'Las Ramblas' amd about a 30 minute walkdown to the Port and beach. As you weave your way through the busy little shopping streets, in the area, you suddenly find yourself in unexpected little squares surrounded by bars and restaurants. There was a metro just outside the front door and we were only a 5 minute walk away from the main square of Placa de Catalunya where you can catch tour buses or buses to the airport The rooftop terrace is beautiful and gives you great views over parts of Barcelona. Our room was lovely and clean and comfortable with very efficient air conditioning and double glazing which kept us cool and well shielded from any outside noise. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and, as they were aware that we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, we returned one day to find a free bottle of champagne, in an ice bucket, in our room with a lovely message from the management. They had even put a little chocolate on each of our pillows. We were very touched by this lovely gesture and would thoroughly recommend this hotel as a base for anybody visiting this great City.

“Loved!”

Great hotel and fantastic location. Very modern and new. Fitness room was small, but appropriate for vacation workouts. The rooms are better suited for couples, and are not particularly family friendly, as the shower is basically a windowed showcase in the middle of the room. Staff was courteous, attentive, polite and helpful. Language barriers were rarely an issue. Rooftop pool area was small, but lovely. We stayed on the first floor, and you definitely could hear the street noise, and the sound of the metro, so if silence is what you are looking for, you might wish to ask for another floor. Would definitely stay at Ohla again, and do recommend. it.

I picked this hotel based on reviews of other travelling and i was very pleased with my choice. central location, brand new hotel (less than a year old). very pleasant staff who were quite humble and helpful. very quick room service. nice breakfast buffet. clean and quiet rooms. A few stuff missing to make it a superb hotel: 1. Movie services ( they must have been kidding me when they brought me a DVD player when i requested watching some paid movies!) 2. make sure you dont get two adjacent twin beds when u requested specifically a king size bed! 3. Lower the prices a bit!

“Definitely one to stay at again”

I stayed with 3 friends for a weekend trip and the Ohla was a great find. Close enough to everything in downtown Barça but not on the main Ramblas (which is noisy, over priced and over rated!). I would definitely stay here again when visiting Barcelona. The good stuff: The staff couldn't have been more helpful, from check in staff to the consierge service and housekeeping staff. Our rooms were an excellent size with everything that you would expect from a 5* hotel. Spotlessly clean and well equiped with ipod docking stations, HD TV and the biggest towels I've seen! The rooftop pool and terrace - a real joy and just what you need after a days sightseeing in the summer heat. Great views out over the city too. The not so good: As with all boutique hotels they have their style quirks - here it is the bathrooms which is the only slight negative to the design. The glass shower cubicle is on full view to bedroom so if you value your privacy be warned. The lifts - it's an old building so the lifts are small and slow. Breakfast & mini bar - very expensive. 2 of our group arrived a day early and hadn't realised that breakfast wasn't included. Breakfast for 2 people came to €38 for bacon and egg. The next day we went out to a cafe nearby where 4 of us ate for less than half the price!
