Lovely short break in BarcelonaPosted Nov 23, 2014
Pros: Comfortable, modernised old building perfectly sited on La Rambla, helpful friendly staff, nice breakfast in glass roofed atrium
Cons: Tea or coffee making facilities would be nice in the bedrooms
Location: Centrally located on La Rambla with Metro and buses easily accessible on Placa Catalunya short walk away with lots of shops around it.
Surprised to find so much to see and do, open topped hop on bus ideal for seeing the sights and planning visits, fantastic range of restaurants and museums. "Must sees" are Sagrada Familia and other Gaudi buildings, La Rambla, Picasso museum, Maritime museum, Flamenco dancing and the Gothic quarter among so many. Restaurants on the Rambla are fairly cheap but only fair quality due to competition, however very good ones just off to the side, eg Placa Reina. Metro very easy to use, cheap but check direction of travel and colour coded lines before going through the gate, ten trips for €10 ticket cheapest. Had wonderful hot sun in November an added bonus

great locationPosted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Central location
Cons: Tea and coffee making fercilities in rooms
This was our first time in Barcelona. The hotel is right on La Rambla, which is the main tourist part of the old town and only 10 minutes walk from both the harbour area and placa catalunya. The hotel is an older building but clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. They all spoke good English which helped. There is a bit of noise from outside at night if your room is near the front but not to bad. All in all a good basic, central place to see the city from.

Hotel right in the centre of everything.Posted Nov 7, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness
The staff were friendly on arrival and gave us each a bottle of water as we arrived. The hotel had an old world feel but with modern facilities. We were close to all the activity on La Ramblas.

Well located.Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: This hotel was well located in the center of activities in Barcelona.
Check in OK with English speaking staff. No bell boys so you must handle your own bags. No charge to store bags during an early arrival.

Hotel in the middle of the cityPosted Nov 3, 2014
Cons: AS referred to above, a more adequate shower stall. The addition of a chair to the room would be nice, but space may not allow.
Location: It is located directly on La Ramblas and the older sections of the city are all nearby.
It's an excellent location if your goal is to explore the older neighborhoods of the city, all of which are easily reached on foot. The beach is a bit of a walk. The hotel and our room was clean and while a bit Spartan, were comfortable. Because we were primarily interested in exploring, eating and learning; the lack of a bigger TV was not a problem for us. The only problem we had was with the shower stall. The current shower stall cannot contain the water from the shower and after two of us were done, the bathroom floor was always flooded. If you don't mind stepping out of the shower into more water, it's not a problem. The front desk staff were ALWAYS very helpful even at 3:00 AM.

Just OK.Posted Nov 1, 2014
Pros: Beds were comfortable.
Cons: An earlier check in would have been greatly appreciated.
Location: The Old Town and gothic quarter; It's a long way to the Sagrada Familia, but doable if you are a walker; Maritime Museum which has nice restaurant.
This place is located at the epicenter of noise on Las Ramblas. Drunks singing all night, and lots of traffic noise. Hard to sleep even with earplugs. We got in really early after a long trip and no effort was made to get us into rooms before 2:30. Most places are more helpful with that. At least the beds were comfortable. The area is pretty seedy, but located close to the Cuitat Vella. If I ever come to Barcelona again, I will upgrade to a hotel somewhere on the other side of the Plaza Catalunya.
