A decent place to crash for the night.Posted Nov 9, 2013
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent service - good central location for getting around Barcelona, close to several metro stations.
Cons: Beds were a bit hard and the Wi-Fi wasn't free as advertised, but minor things really.
Location: Close to a few metro-stations, hotel in general is not too far from nightlife spots, Nou Camp, shopping etc. - good location in general
Pretty decent hotel for the price, excellent central location, friendly and helpful staff with a reception desk that was manned 24/7. Probably not a hotel you'd take the Mrs for a romantic weekend, down a side street, not the greatest of views from the window etc., but if you're like us, two lads visiting Barcelona to watch football and have a few beers in the evening, this hotel was pretty much ideal for what we needed. Room, although a bit small, was cleaned and fresh towels provided every day - can't complain really for the price paid.

do not stay in this hotelPosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: Location was good but lack of comfort negates this. I would travel another 10 minutes for comfy sleep thats what tourist require.
Cons: Double bed if requested, sound proof the rooms, sockets in room and AC control by client not by recpetion
Location: Locations are easy access and within walking distance.
I have just returned from Barcelona. I was wlcomed by the stench of urine as I eneter the hotel. This hotel was was booked at the suggestion of Expedia staff. The only good thing about this hotel is good loacation and friendly staff. Close to train station and aeroport bus drop off and a corner shop just opposite that sells toothc brsh to creoam. I had booked a double room. I was given a single room with extra bed in it. This meant there was no space, I mean no space to move. we were walking on the bed to get to the bathroom which was again smaller than a cubyhole. I was told they are fully booked and we would be moved to the bigger room next day if we dont like it. There was no window and it DID get stuffy. The rooms are small. Aircon system is one of the worst I have come across in 25 years of travel. WE HAVE TO RING THE RECEPTION to turn it on and off. This mean, we wake up in the middle of the night ( if we could sleep at all from all the noise). to ask themwo to switch off AC followed by another call a few hours later to turn it on again when we are boiling hot. Thus no regular comfy sleep throughout the night after a busy day. No plug socket in room. I had to keep kettle in toilet (on top of the bidet) and constantly worry about my phone or laptop getting splashes of water when plugged in. Oh, no double bed, mattresses thin. Before anyone says "you get only what you pay": I paid # 500 for 5 nights. !!!!I wish I could give it a half star only

A wasted opportunityPosted Aug 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel has so much going for it. Its location is great - ok the neighborhood looks dodgy (small alleyway, no views etc.) but its 2 minutes walk from a metro station of Piazza Universitad (where the airport shuttle also stops) and 5 minute walk to Las Ramblas and all the activity going on in Barcelona. The staff is also very polite and helpful. However, it is in severe need of refurbishment. Its acceptable that there is no restaurant or breakfast offering (its surrounded by restaurants), the lift was tiny and very old and the 'airconditioning' is a switch that is turned on or off at reception i.e. you cannot adjust it or do anything from your room - these two already gives way to what is to come. The room however is one of the worst I've ever stayed in. The bath is right in the middle of the room and had all kinds of dents in it. The water pressure was bad and the roof of the bath looked like it would collapse any minute. The toilet had less legroom than a cheap-airline flight (but there was a useless bidet wasting space next to it). The mattress had seen better days many years ago - the springs went 'doing' every time you sit down or move. If you are looking for a cheap stay then this might be the thing for you, but don't expect to stay longer than 2-3 days. Management should seriously make an effort to improve this hotel as its a wasted opportunity.

disappointedPosted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: good location
Cons: very small room, particularly the bathroom
Excellent location, next to metro and 10 mins walk to las Ramblas. Staff speak good English or French etc However, we had a bad room that was very small- you could hear the other rooms (conversations, people going to the toilet, music etc which can be uncomforting. Shower was very cramped and the toilet was facing directly into a wall that made it very strange. At times felt more like a hostel and seemed very popular with young people (cheap I suppose.) Also TV wasn't working. No drinks facilities. Had to ask them to put the A/C on. We had no view from our window. So on the whole it was n't the greatest hotel we've ever stayed in.

Hard to Find and CrampedPosted Jul 18, 2013
Pros: Close to downtown.
Location: Heart of Barcelona near Plaza Catalunya. You can walk almost everywhere.
Very difficult to find, although close to town. The halls were so cramped we could hardly walk through with luggage. There was no room in the bedroom for our luggage, so we had to pile it all on the bed. If you wanted air in the room you had to go to the front desk and ask them to turn it on. The TV didn't work and the linens were very warn. It wasn't horrible, and for one night it did the job, but the other hotel we stayed in was much better for about the same price.

Just ok.Posted Jul 2, 2013
Pros: Staff, proximity to lots of things
Cons: Shutters wouldn't stay open, so room was dark
Location: Could walk to most places, metro really close
Make sure you get a window, we saw someone Who didn't have one. Staff were helpful, great location. Perhaps expensive for what you got. Building Is old

Great Value, no fuss.Posted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: Location and reception staff
Cons: Lack of breakfast (which we knew about before we travelled)
Location: 5 mins walk from The Rambla, and Place de Catalunya. Also 5 mins walk for Aerobus stop and pick-up (5.90 Euro each way from airport to centre)
After reading other reviews, it was exactly as we expected.Very Very helpful staff. Don't forget to ask reception to switch on your aircon. Only 5mins walk from Aerobus stop. Would stay again.

I was satisfiedPosted May 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
I needed a place to sleep, the price was right, and I was surprised and pleased by what I found....once the taxi driver found it!!!!!! Its tucked away on little sidestreet, but area was good, and Aerobus pickup stops to BCN airport just 4 blocks away at Plaza Catalunya, so I could get to airport next am for 6 euros. Small market on corner of street, as well as internet cafe (cheaper than hotel wifi), and just one block in from main road of Sepulveda. Overall, very satisfied!
