Great 5 star hotel!!!Posted Aug 10, 2014
Fantastic value for a 5 star hotel. Away from centre but right next to a metro stop (called Zona University). Clearly a business person's hotel but hence the very cheap prices for stays during the week (we booked at £70 per night for a double or twin). Bar and breakfast prices are very, very expensive (i.e. business traveller prices), so we just didn't spend anything on extras while we were there! In fact we are such cheapskates that we had Dunkin' Donuts breakfast at Maria Cristina metro stop (10 mins walk away). Best thing is the swimming pool - sheer luxury, free towels, uncrowded and just the best swimming pool we have ever used. Kids adored it and tough to get them away to see the city!! Open 10am to 8pm, so we often got back to hotel at 7 and swam in a near deserted pool for an hour. Just heaven...

5 Star HotelPosted Aug 3, 2014
Cons: One thing that was well below standard was the Checkout experience. We had to queue for 20 mins at the check out. Very poor for a 5 star hotel
Good quality Hotel, rooms are what you would expect for 5 star.

Excellent hotelPosted May 12, 2014
We stayed at the hotel because it was close to the conference venue I was attending. The hotel offered all you could ask for. Within 5 mins walk of the metro station and the train would take about 20 mins to the centre of the city. Also close to the Nou Camp for football buffs.

Centrally locatedPosted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Location. Friendly staff who were wiling to help. The room size and overall comfort.
Location: Shopping centre, metro is walk up the road, Barcelona football club, University, David Lloyd club
Beautiful hotel, close to the city, shopping centre, Barcelona football club & metro. Very clean and peaceful. We had a suite which was very spacious, comfy beds and fresh linen everyday. The buffet breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly and welcoming. They even have a kids play area with swings and slides, and the gardens are lush. One must got and see the lovely swans. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The location is NOT good if you are visiting Barcelona as a tourist. This is a hotel that caters primarily to business people so expect people to be walking around in suits. That being said the rooms ( especially the beds) are extremely comfortable. They claim there is free parking... there is, but only for 11 cars!

Short 2 night stay to watch F.C BarcelonaPosted Apr 23, 2014
Pros: This hotel was very plush, modern and extremely clean. The room I had was very spacious and had brilliant views over the city and of camp nou.
Cons: More smiles please, casual travellers like myself can be put off easily. With Camp Nou next door its a big market to disappoint.
Location: The hotel was really easy to find using the metro. All I was interested in was the camp nou which was basically round the corner (perfect!).j
Having selected this hotel purely on the basis of being close to the camp nou (10-15 mins walk which was perfect) and the price on offer I was very pleased in my choice. First impressions were good. A very imposing/stylish contemporary hotel which is very obviously aiming towards International Business Conferences & high end clients. This leads to my only negative which was I sometimes felt like a black sheep. For business clients and families this hotel is perfect. For the laid back average joe its a little OTT. Saying that....being a five star hotel, I should never of felt like that. Athletic Club Bilbao were actually present in the hotel at the time I was there so I forgive the doorman for confronting me on whether I was staying there or not, he was merely doing his job. Overall pleasant enough stay taking into account small negatives.

Conference HotelPosted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: clean & decent rooms
Location: See an FC Barcelona game
I attended a conference at this hotel. It's very large and to far away from main attractions except the FC Barcelona stadium which is walk able. The concierge was able to get me amazing seats for the Barcelona-Altleico Madrid Champions league game which made my trip. I would not stay here as a tourist because of the location unless I got a good deal on a room. It was clean, staff was nice and there are plenty of taxis line up to take you into old Barcelona for 15 Euros. Concierge recommended a good restaurant Costa Gallega _ Moncho's.

Needs to be modernizedPosted Mar 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed here for a work trip. This pace apparently was built in 1992 so it is not that old...but it needs modernizing. Here are the issues: Central heating. When I checked in it was super hot, so I had to change rooms. Apparently the weather swung from cold to hot that day and they could not adjust the heating/AC in time. They need individual heating/AC in each room. Plus this way people can tailor the room temp to their liking. A co-worker of mine had to suffer in an 80 degree+ room. They had free Wi-Fi which was good. But it went down that night and could be addressed until the IT dept opened at 8am next day. I plugged a network cable into the Internet ports in the room, but still no internet connectivity. Apparently this happened the night before as well. IT needs to leave directions with the front desk on how to reset the wireless routers…it’s not that hard! No electric plugs near bed. Business travelers (like me) sadly keep using their smartphones until they sleep. I like having it bedside for the alarm, check email if I have insomnia, and keep it charging. They need plugs near the bed stand to make this happen. No iron in room. I found this out when I only had 5 minutes left to iron m clothes..too late! Apparently they can bring one up to the room, but it should be in every room. I noticed the room had no sprinkler (apparent result of it not being that new) so I guess irons are too much of a fire hazard
