Dining
La Poma - The hotel's pride and joy, La Poma restaurant is divided into two distinct sections. On the first floor level is a large room with traditional Spanish decor. A varied menu is on offer here, but the highly regarded specialties are meat dishes from the charcoal grill and the traditional sea-food paella. Also on offer is fresh fish of the day and lobster. Downstairs at street level the same menu is on offer but in a more casual, cafeteria-style setting. Both sections of the restaurant are busy with outside visitors every night and have an independent entrance from the street.

“Royal Ramblas, Barcelona”
The thing that I did not like about this hotel is that they always try to milk your money from every possible way. For example, the Internet access is free for only one hour with unacceptable speed so that some apps like Yahoo Messenger won't work at all. This also applies to their office room and the free Internet is only for one continuos hour with no disconnection after you logged in. The service was so so. We asked for a problem in the refrigerator in our room as it was not working and after 3 nights of our staying in the hotel the problem never solved. Breakfast was good but it was pricy in comparison to the other 4 star hotel that we stayed in Madrid. The exact same breakfast was about 40% higher in price.
“a nice hotel”
I stayed this hotel for 2 nights for my first trip in Barcelona. Though I arrived in the hotel early morning, they offered me a nice room so that I can check in and take a rest. Over all, I like its good hospitality, good service and good location.
“Barcelona”
Had no poroblem with pick-pocketers.

“A 2 stars hotel at the very best !”
We booked an economy double room so our expectations were quite moderate. For our basic needs we expected a least a private bathroom. The toilet could be considered private (sliding glass door) but it is in a cubicle that is smaller than an airplane bathroom. To make matters even worst the light is controlled by a motion sensor so it would turn itself off even if you don't want to. Moreover, you have to step into the main room to wash your hands or to dry yourself after taking a shower. The main attraction of this hotel is its proximity to La Ramblas so in reserving an economy room I did not expect a beautiful street view but I did not expect either that our windows would open on dark inner airway shaft. Everything is small in this hotel; the complementary toiletries are not enough for two people. The elevators, for a hotel this size, are so small and in high demand so a lot of guests have to take the stairs instead. The hotel restaurant seems to be a variation of a fast food restaurant chain. All in all, from what I saw in this hotel it is definitely not a 4 stars hotel. Maybe the others types of room are somewhat better but they are a lot more expensive. In my view, if you want to be recognized as a 4 stars hotel all rooms should have a minimum level of comfort and services. We were so displeased with our room that we contacted the front desk and the best they could do for us was to suggest an upgrade to better room for a substantial amount of money; an offer we declined.
“"Fantastic location in heart of Barcelona"”
Right on the street that never sleeps. Street is very busy but our room was very quiet. Also, it is a short walk to aeroport buses whe you are arriving or leaving the city by plane.
“Pleased in Barcelona”
I booked the Royal Ramblas for 1 night before my cruise. I had never been there and knew nothing of the area. After alot of research I picked this one. I was pleasantly surprised that I got just what I expected. It was in heavy tourist area which is what I wanted. others complained in reviews about noise but I found my Ramblas view room was quiet even with all the noise outside. rooms were very clean and nice. Only issue was AC was not cool enough but it was not that bad. There was not a restaurant but for me it wasnt an issue. I liked location and room so I booked it for my return also and cancelled my airport hotel . the rates are pricey but for me it was worth it for cleanliness and location. Found morning front desk staff friendly but afternoon folks were not.
“Location, location, location”
If you're looking for a good hotel on Las Ramblas, look no further than Royal Ramblas, which is right in the middle of all the action. Not only does the hotel have a great location, it is ultra-modern and clean. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. When we return to Barcelona, we'll be sure to book this hotel.
“Great location”
Stayed for a week and had a wonderful time. Staff was very helpful. Hotel has a great location.
“Will stay here again.”
Recently updated. Very nice & clean. Room very quiet and we were right on Las Ramblas street. Great location, close and central to all the tourist activities, and transportation. Our second time staying at this hotel and would stay here again.

Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Spain: Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.
