Excellent hotel quiet district close to metroPosted Apr 13, 2014
Hotel excellent facilites and quality, quiet district, good restaurant in hotel though limited choice of others close by. Very close to Bogatel tube where can get direct link to Barconletta 10-15 minute walk to sea front and good choice of eating places and even a Macdonalds! 141 bus is a street away and takes you all the way past las Rambas to Place Esplana where there are bus links to everywhere including airport! Take the 150 bus up to Montjuic castle the Olympic stadium where views are amazing !!

Lovely hotel close to the Marina!Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Fantastic size, clean room with a gigantic bed :-) Spa facilities were great after walking around town all day!
Cons: Would be nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Location: Marina 10/15 minute walk away - nice quiet location. Which was perfect after a busy day walking around town.
Although the hotel was not close to the main town centre. We enjoyed our slow walks into La Ramblas taking different routes which enabled us to experience different restaurants, enjoy the beach/marina and see the sites. We walked everywhere and wouldn't have done it any other way.

Cute boutique hotelPosted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Decor, bar/restaurant in lobby, Free WiFi
Cons: Strength of the WiFi and access to advertised spa facilities.
The hotel, itself, was adorable. The walls on my floor were painted in candy-cane stripes of red and white, and the room, while small, was well appointed and had quite a large bathroom. It was in a good location for where my meeting was located, though it was a bit of a (nice) walk to local restaurants, shopping, or metro stops. Sadly, one of the major reasons I chose the hotel was because of their spa, which was closed on the day that I was there in preparations for the upcoming Valentine's day. Given that this was clearly planned in advance, it would have been courteous to inform guests. I could have just as easily stayed across the street at the Villa Olympica Suites, as they also have spa facilities.

Good Value Hotel in Quiet SuburbPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: Just enabled you to relax and get with site seeing
Cons: Swipe card system for room entry
Location: Metro was great and convenient for hotel but when you are flagging and need to get to hotel quickly taxis are good value. Beach is close by too.
Had half term break here to visit Barcelona with wife and daughter and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hotel was all we needed it to be as we were spending most of the time siteseeing. Minor issue with the room swipe keys aside the hotel was excellent. It is situated in a quiet area away from madding crowds but 5 min walk or less from Metro and 10 mins walk from sea. It might not be the prettiest area but was absolutely safe. Also has local eateries near by which make a change from the many touristy places we saw in La Rambla. I would go back to the Salles Hotel again and the buffet breakfast was superb as it was included in our price and the bar staff only too helpful when ate tapas late one night!! The spa/sauna/pool downstairs was a useful appendage which we made use of on the last evening. For those who need TV there many channels in european languages and free WiFi which worked fine. For a short break and a good base for BArcelona could not have chosen better. As a seasoned traveller I often complain about the service but I thought I would write this for exceeding our expectations.

Good hotelPosted Oct 9, 2013
The Salles is perfect for a trip to Barcelona. It is within walking distance of everything and the metro is literally a street away so if you are tired you can jump on there. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful with all requests, such as how do we get to the nou camp? can you order a taxi etc. When we return to Barca we will definitely be going back to the Salles.

Girls' Break AwayPosted Oct 1, 2013
Pros: Very beautiful and quirky feel to it. Free WIFI. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Clean throughout.
Cons: Breakfast rates. Curtains need to be able to be closed. Windows could do with sound proofing.
Location: Parc de la Ciutadella, Olympic Port & Beach are a short walk away. Sites such as Casa Mila, Guell Park, Las Ramblas are all easy to travel to by tube.
The hotel is beautiful & the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Our twin room was very pleasant, clean, tidy & presentable. Curtains were decorative only though & didn't close, which isn't great for a sunny city with street lamps outside! There was also a club opposite our room, which kept me awake in the early hours. Everything is easily accessible from the hotel and the receptionist gave us a map with the attractions on it which was very helpful. We recommend traveling around by tube (it's just like the London Underground), and advise you buy a 10 trip ticket for €9,80 instead of paying €19,80+ for a multiple day ticket. We found this enough for our 4 day break. The easiest way to get to the hotel from the airport, is to catch the train (R Line) to Passeig de Gràcia, then change & get the yellow line (L4) to Bogatell. This journey took us less than an hour. They recommend using stop "Marina", however, that stop is about a 10 minute walk away, whereas Bogatell is just 2 minutes around the block. The hotel has a safe you can use for €2 a day and there is tax of about €1,21 per night. Drinks are reasonably priced, it was €5 for a glass of Sangria, so not bad for a 4 star hotel. There are a few cafes nearby for some drinks if you don't fancy going far, we bought 2 pints of beer & 2 glasses of wine for €8,90. The hotel is a short walk away from the Olympic Port and beach which is very beautiful.
