“Very nice hotel!”

We stayed at the Silken Hotel November 10 - 12, 2011. The hotel's location, off Las Ramblas, was perfect - nice and quiet yet very close to EVERYTHING! The beds were super comfortable! We would definitely stay there again, as well as recommend it to others.

“Former Glory”

The hotel Silken Ramblas was a lovely hotel to stay in, especially for the price. The staff could not have been more helpful, giving my mum and me rooms next door to each other in a quiet area as requested, finding us an excellent restaurant which was exactly what were were looking for on Christmas day, looking up opening hours and generally making our stay very enjoyable and as hassle free as possible. It is also incredibly central and right in the middle of the fun, whilst being just back off the main road so also nice and quiet at night. The one thing I would say is if you're looking for real luxury, this hotel has slipped a bit. The rooms are very large, especially by European standards, but they are looking decidedly tired. So, in summary, if you want a hotel which makes a great base for exploring this is perfect for you, but if you like to spend time in your hotel soaking up some luxury then this probably isn't the place for you.

“Great Location”

Our stay was very pleasant. The front desk personnel were very friendly, helpful and fluent in English. The hotel was convenient to Las Ramblas and walking distance to many sights and restaurants. The inroom toiletries were nice. The rooftop area could be improved.

“Impressed”

Silken Ramblas is just a few feet away from the hustle and bustle of the main street Las Ramblas. This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in quite some time, even considering the ones in the states. Traveling overseas you are not sure what surprise you will find when you arrive at your hotel or room, but with Silken you will be pleasantly surprised. The hotel is maintained in pristine condition - very clean, modern decor & furniture, huge beds, comfortable rooms, awesome bathrooms, and helpful & friendly staff. Overall would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Barcelona and would like a nice, quite, and affordable hotel.

“Excellent Hotel”

This was an outstanding hotel. The room was large, comfortable. The pool area was beautiful for a late afternoon dip. The staff were very friendly and helped with every request promptly. The bar area was nice for a quiet drink and the location of the hotel was perfect

“Excellent stay.”

The Silken Ramblas was a perfect place for my 18 yo daughter and I to stay and see the sights of Barcelona. It is conveniently located one block off Las Ramblas, which made it easy to get to the main attractions. Virtually all the old city tourist sites were within easy walking distance - including the Columbas statute, the peer, Placa Catalyuna, Mercat Bouqert, Picasso Museum (did NOT care for this), the Roman ruins, three beautiful cathedrals, Casa Botilla, La Pedrero and the charm of the Barri Gotic. We walked to Mont Juic, which was a ways to walk but VERY 'do'able, and to and from La Sagrada Familia. Again, a long walk but very enjoyable as you saw many things along the way. We did take the Metro to Parc Guell and back, which was easy to navigate. The hotel room was clean, nicely decorated and had a beautiful bathroom. The bed and linens were excellent. The window had NO view, but we were tired by the time we got in each night anyway. It had two coffee packets w/hot water pot for the morning and a mini-bar fridge-we bought yogurt from the grocery store and kept it there for breakfast. It had a safe in the room and excellent maid service. Over all, a great place to stay! I would definitely recommend this hotel to a family or friend.

“Very comfortable, great location”

The hotel was great. Perfect location, walking distance to shps, town, port and beach. The rooms were nice and big. It doesnt get much better than a pool on the roof right on La Ramblas!

“Very impressed”

I was delighted with this choice of hotel. Not only is it clean and the rooms spacious and well equiped but the location was perfect. In the middle of everything that you want to go and see, yet nice and quite at the same time. The roof top terrace with swimming pool was a real bonus too, as it was very warm during our stay. Excellent hotel, would recommend.

“Excellent location :)”

We decided to make plans to go to barcelona....EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!...The hotel was 4 streets down off La Rambles. All the bars, cafes, resturants, theathre, street performers right on the door step. We decided to buy a BARCELONA CARD, not a good choice for us. We didnt get much use out of it as we were only there for 4 days and everything we did and saw was walking distance. Its a good idea investing in a metro/bus pass, as we found that we used the metro lines often. There was no need to eat inside the hotel, as u are spoilt for choice once you get outside. The little cafe opp. the hotel may look a little shabby, but they do the best milky coffeee and hot chocolates :) Theres a small cosy bar as u come out the hotel and take a right, friendly people and strong drinks :) you must try sangria and paella...AMAZING!!! like every city, always be vigulent of your bags/wallets. But we didnt find any problems. So if you like a excitinng buzzing place to stay, this is the place for you. I'd definately come here again.

“Super fun and great location but don't expect a quiet room”

Great hotel overall. Location cannot be beat. Once you get there you can walk to everything you would need or jumbo in the double decker tour bus. Would skip the expensive breakfast and check out other nearby options. There are lots. I was however disappointed with how noisy it got in the rooms. You could hear the people in the rooms next door and there were ALOT of motorcycles which jolted you out of your sleep.
