Quiet street but right in the heart of the city.

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: Cool minimalist style, the very central location and the bonus of the roof top pool and terrace to sun bathe in the evening. Also very quiet at night.
Cons: Occasionally noticed a slight "drainy smell' in room although I generally noticed this around the city at times.
Brilliant location right in the heart of the city, just off the famous La Rambla Street. Very close only 5 minutes walk from the airport bus drop off and pick up point and also the tourist bus stop. Having the little roof top pool, bar and sun loungers was lovely after a busy day of sight seeing. The pool was a lovely temperature during our stay and the hotel was well air conditioned. The pool area seemed smaller than on the official photographs but was never busy during our stay. We can not comment on the food as we were keen to eat out and explore the abundance of places to eat. Great hotel if you want to be close to the action but without being noisy ( in our experience).

Pickpockets

The Silken Ramblas hotel is super and I would recommend it as a great place to stay. Only a minutes walk to the Ramblas Main Street. Many things to do. Bus tours East and west were excellent and cable car up to the castle was a great experience. Downside for me was having my iPhone 6 stolen while being jostled around on the Metro. My advice is to keep your belongings very close and only venture out with the minimum you need to carry around.

city break Barcelona

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: Stylish, clean, central.
Cons: Access to balcony to dry swimming costumes. Noisy at night.
Location: Ramblas. See above. Fascinating city. Lovely architecture at your doorstep. Beautiful squares for al fresco dining. Left me wanting to return soo
Package with Expedia meant that for 3 nights at hotel we had four full days to enjoy in Barcelona. Hotel very central. Visited Gaudi stuff (beware queues - next time would book on internet first); museums/galleries, churches, beach, shows, etc. No shortage of choice of restaurants and bars. Market was fun. Good shopping. Metro easy to use and cheap. buses reliable. Had a wonderful time.

Silken Ramblas

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Loved its location, its friendly courteous staff and clean and tidy rooms
Cons: Just small annoying things like a light bulb not working in the room or a lamp not working.
Location: Brilliant location for a city break. Visit the many squares off La Rambla. Use the City tour bus to get around . La Sagrada Familia is a must
Lovely hotel just 50 metres from La Rambla strip and 5 minute walk to the Autobus that takes you straight to the airport. Rooms are clean and tidy and there is plenty to choose from the breakfast menu. There is even Cava on offer for breakfast if you fancy an early morning tipple. Loads of eating and drinking places just off La Rambla strip quite near the hotel. An excellent hotel brilliantly situated for a long weekend city break.
