“Not impressed!”
If you don't mind the extremelly hard bed, rough towels and inpolite staff, then the hotel is good as it is very well located.
“Hotel Needs some maintenance”
the drain in my bathtub was plugged and would fill up. I reported this to the front desk who sent in someone to fix it. I came back to the hotel with the following response, "there is nothing wrong with the drain the water drains just fine". i was told to call back if there was still a problem. I did as there was the same thing happening when I had a quick shower. i explained that the maintenance guy needs to run the water for a minute or two and you will see that it does not drain. The next day when I came back to the hotel i could smell sewer gas. I went into my room and the smell was very strong on my floor and in my wing of the hotel. The water drained slightly better but the stench of sewer gas was intolerable. When I asked what the smell was I got this, "What smell?". Overall a good hotel but they should be doing something about this as it is not sanitary and does put guests at risk.
“realy good location”
The hotel is realy well located, very close to metro station. The room is quite big for european standards, clean and good relation cost x benefits.
“Convenient Location”
Nice hotel. Extremely good value for money. Close location to downtown attractions and Sants railway station. Cozy rooms. Spacious with double bed.
“Barcelona, good location for the price”
Located in a nice residential neighborhood, close to public trasportation. Staff was polite and provide good service. rooms have a good size and were clean. Free internet was a plus. NIce restaurants close to the hotel. I will stay there again.
“La televisión no funcionaba”
Mi tarifa incluía Internet y en la habitación no había señal... me cambiaron de habitación y en la nueva la televisión no funcionaba. Dijeron que era problema de la señal de cable en esa habitación y que no podían hacer nada!!. No hubo ninguna intención de solucionar el problema. Yo tuve que pedir que me compensaran de alguna manera. Me dieron un día de desayuno buffet el cual no fue de mi agrado.
“Good Choice”
The hotel is relatively close to Sants Station, where the fast train from Madrid arrives and is located in a central area, full of facilities and near the metro, which is very efficient. Very confortable room, I really liked the wifi In the room and the shower was a plus. I really enjoyed my stay there.
“Great hotel in a good location”
Not knowing Barcelona, I threw the dart at the board and landed on 'Sunotel Aston'. I have to say, I was impressed. The location in the Eixample section was good. Proximity to major conveniences, metro and large tourist attractions (Sagrada Familia, Pedrera, Casa Batllo, etc.). The room was a nice size for 1-2 people and clean. Neighborhood not too loud considering school across the street and nearby hospital and Avenue Diagonal. All-in-all, a great value and I would highly recommend it. The hotel staff (desk) may seem a little stand-offish at first, but once you begin speaking with them they're very nice and extremely helpful. Service was A+ and all amenities advertised worked as expected. Very nice having the pool on the roof with a beautiful view. Unless you were heart-set on staying in the Gothic Quarter, I would recommend the Sunotel Aston strongly as an affordable, clean and comfortable place to stay.
