“Excellent in every way”

This hotel was excellent for our weekend in Barcelona. The staff were extremely pleasant, polite and helpful. The room was clean and well-furnished with a good-sized bathroom including bath and shower. The buffet breakfast was one of the best I can remember having in a hotel: fantastic selection and plenty of it. Location was ideal: just a few seconds from an underground station so we could get the metro to/from the airport easily. Less than 10 mins walk from Ramblas so not disturbed by noise but quick to get to sight-seeing starting points etc.

“Good base for travel”

Modern hotel in a very good location, right next to a the metro (2 lines) - a couple of stops from the waterfront/las ramblas, so quiet enough at night, yet very easy access to anywhere in Barcelona. Room a good size - fittings slightly jaded maybe, but very good overall.

“Rome's BEST kept Secret”

One word... AMAZING! THe staff was VERY friendly and helpful, the neighborhood was safe and very quiet AND literally 10 steps away from the Vatican... This place really is a great find. AND breakfast is included at a little caffe... you can't beat that. It is also very close to all the major buslines and metro. JuST LOVE LOVE LOVE this place, will DEFINITELY come back in the future!!

“Great location and price, would use again”

Hotel is in a quieter area of Barcelona, but easy walk to La Rambla or the port. Metro stop is just outside and easy to navigate. Staff are great and very helpful; do get a city map from them. Hotel offers internet service for 3 euros an hour. The hotel breakfast is very good, the B&B package is worth the extra few $$. They also have a cafe - not very exciting but OK. We enjoyed eating along the pedestrian way Carrier d'Elkano North/West of the hotel - less tourists! Taxi from airport is about 23 euros (9/2008) but the bus to Placa Catalunya is 4 euros then you get the metro 2 stops to the hotel (would not do with large bags!)

“Clean, comfortable, central location. Large and somewhat impersonal”

The Tryp Apolo is centrally located within easy reach of most attractions, a few mintues from the waterside and with a Metro station almost outside the door. We had a back room with views of MontJuic - front rooms may suffer from traffic noise. Reasonably priced internet access is available and the hotel has a secure luggage room if you are not travelling immediately after checking out.

“Great hotel, cracking location”

Situated two stops from Las Ramblas on the Metro, or simply a ten minute stroll, The Tryp Apolo is a gem of a hotel, on the corner of a semi-busy street yet its quiet, the rooms are spacious and clean. The cable car up to Montjuic is 5 mins walk away, its bang in the centre of Barcelona, and the tourist buses stop at the top of Las Ramblas (10-15mins walk) as well as Plaza Espana (10mins walk). Would reccomend highly.

We found the hotel to be ideally located within Barcelona, close to the Barri Gotic,Las Ramblas and the sea front, within walking distance to the beach and very close to a metro station. The staff were polite and friendly, and happy to answer any queries. The room was excellent, very comfortable and clean. I will be recommending this hotel to everybody I know visiting Barcelona, and I will certainly use this hotel again if I return.
