“4 1/2 STARS??”
Just arrived home today after a fantastic couple of nights in Barcelona, staying at the Wilson Boutique. So .....
Location - Excellent. We didnt get the Metro anywhere, but instead opted to buy a 2day pass for the tourist bus, meaning we could get around the city and jump on and off as we pleased. This turned out to be by far the best method of seeing the sights, and great value. We paid approx 25 euro from the airport for a taxi, which took approx 20 mins.. The hotel is centrally located in a very nice part of town, Ave Diagonal. NIce little cafe outside, Cafe Berlin.
Hotel - Spotless, very modern and lovely decor. Our room was small but perfectly adequate, well stocked mini bar, reasonably priced. Very good shower, comfortable bed, well sound insulated from street noise BUT!! it loses half a star here. We were in room 103 which was directly next to the bar/breakfast room. The problem started when the staff would set up for breakfast and we were woken up with noise at 5.30 each morning. The walls are pretty thin, and this was frustrating. So try and get an upper floor room. The bar after 2pm right through until 1am is self service, so take whatever drinks or snacks you want, then report your consumption to reception. (no spirits however)
Staff - Professional, smart, and polite, if not overly enthusiastic about seeing you. No big deal really.
Value - Excellent. It manages to tick nearly all the right boxes, and if you stay here, you will not be disappointed.
